What are the things that you've done this year that you're proud of achieving?

I climbed Bluff Knoll as my first mountain climb goal
Explored the best beaches and finest forests on solo roadtrips #bliss
Managed to keep 2 fussy rabbits and 4 chook farm hens alive
Didn't get pregnant
Finally got free of the psych drugs after 14 years (I am still mad I was on them/brainwashed so long though)
Had a riding lesson on a bucking thoroughbred and didn't fall off hehe.
Started serious bible study and love it

I was part of a award winning item, and now I'm part of the same team that might win an award next year.

Black Thorn is the place to be!

There's no 'might' about that 😈
So much. This year has been really great when it comes to my own personal accomplishments.
  • I quit smoking
  • I finally started going to the dentist and am almost done (I've gone to the dentist about every two weeks for the past several months)
  • I'm not quite the hermit I was before
  • I'm not as much of a slob and keep a cleaner apartment than I've ever done before
  • I've gotten much better at budgeting
  • I actually finished reading a book 😛
  • I've been far more social (online and irl) than I have in years
  • I feel like there's more but I've just forgotten what it is...

This year started with a change of jobs to suit me better and give me more time away from the stress of other people. I also got married and we went on our first trip abroad together. I never imagined I'd ever get married, so all in all, a year of firsts and a year I'll remember. Certainly much better than the last few years.

I'm proud of the way I've handled myself in some really emotional stressful situations. I've realised I have a strength I never knew I had - the strength to be kind, even faced with adversity. Some might consider that a weakness, but it isn't, because being horrible to another person when you're in those circumstances is so much easier than being kind.

In 1996 I gave up drinking because I couldn't afford to drink and smoke. Two years ago I quit smoking and this year I got to reap the benefits of not smoking. In 2000 I learnt the benefits of being a hermit, I had a remission for a couple of years but this year I got back on track.
Next year I might try getting a few friends who aren't characters in a book. So all in all its been a good year.

I need hermit lessons
  • I started going to the gym regularly and managed to lose some weight
  • I started seeing a therapist to deal with my anxiety issues and have gotten some of them under control
  • I changed my youtube channel from opinion pieces into video essays and got a bunch more subscribers
  • I extracted myself from a toxic and debilitating friendship without feeling guilty
  • I mentally feel much better than I did at the beginning of the year

And the only thing you need to do now is join Black Thorn.
It's been a pretty unproductive year for me, not a bad year just unproductive. I guess I've had time to myself though to think about what i want to do and where i want to go.

I'm still passing dental school (boy is it rough)
I bought my first Christmas tree, put it up all by myself, then went full on with the Christmas decorations. It's nice to actually make my apt at school feel like more than just an apt at school.
I've gotten even closer to my family & boyfriend

Overall 2018 did me pretty good, can't complain.

HoppyHippy, re your comment on #8
your hermit lessons start here,
do you go to the beach?
I don't so I had to opt for the other type of hermit. Them hermit crabs can be a sod.
What I find is very helpful is a typing speed of about 10 words a minute, that includes putting the spelling right to several words, also because I'm using this ruddy crappy Microsoft Word and it wants to start 8 out of 10 lines with a capital letter.
Then there is the problem that this software thinks it is clever to use English US as pretend it is proper English: I have to go over what I've written and correct the software.
Consequently it takes a flaming long time to write stuff, add to that my Mental Disability of occasional short term memory loss. Being a hermit becomes bloody easy.
For you I suggest taking it easy to begin with, write a long poem.
The longest I wrote was an Epic poem, 167 pages of it, (book length), and yes it took ruddy ages.
Try writing one about one of your bunnies, make it lovey dovey to appeal to the younger audience. And if it doesn't sell you've just spent six months writing it, re-writing and re-writing it.
Suggested title is The tale of Mr(s) HibbertyHoppityWabbit.

Thankyou! :D I shall get right on it.
I spent five months of this year in America, where I had so many great experiences. I know living in America can be rough, but it is like a fairytale land to me. Of course, I spent 95 % of the time doing homework, because American uni is rough, but I learned that I've gotten really good at essay writing (no funny comments about my writing on here, please 😉)

Oh ... and I've somehow survived my twenties with four working limbs and in decent health.
