Beauty and the Beasts needed a stronger Jekyll

Hows this sound?

A young man who blurred thel ine between coming on a bit strong, and attempting rape, towards a Middle school sweet heart, but she begged him off he tried to apolagize but she never wanted to speak to him again, and he doesnt suppose he can blame her.

He tried using his alchemical knowledge to Purge all human weakness from himself so he'll never be tempted to do such a thing again... if the end result is a drone without freewill then so be it.

For added horror, have the hyde murder a couple and burn their house down but when hes about to leave the jekyll changes back and hears their baby crying and leaps through flames to grab the baby then escape with it.

It had a REALLY REALLY Unconvincing Jekyll in that episode, seemed pretty clear he was a manipulative jerk even when not under the potions effects...

And a more likable charachter would have made it more poignant.

I kind of agree,but I think it's because the Jekyl figure, Pete I think his name was, isn't really the point of this episode, he was just a means to an end. The point of the episode was Angels return.

I personally love the episode, and wouldn't change it. I like your ideas though, although it seems more like you're pitching a Jekyl TV series, as opposed to a singular episode of Buffy 🙂
 
just 2 days ago found out that the Series "Jekyll" existed lol

I still think it would have been a interesting antagonist for Buffy As its a problem not as Cosmic as Glory.

Facing someone like that down, could she really kill them until shes exhausted all other options or go for the kill, rather then corpses accrue in the meantime

You're scenario seems too complex and dark for a Buffy one shot in s3 (one that has to be shared with the return of Angel, which was massive).

I wouldn't have minded a better, bader Jekyll, but I don't really feel comfortable with the show exploring the themes of child rape in a one shot episode. It would have brushed over an issue that is way too important and that should be properly covered. The show didn't have the right medium and theme to showcase such a story, especially not in s3.

I think for a one shot, what they did was okay. But a fleshed out, one season "side bady" jekyll/hide character could have been cool. Just not in s3 because here we already had Faith as a side bady. This would have fitted better in s4 along with the initiative storyline.
 
Smallville managed a fairly well developed Jeckyl hyde story arc for a one episode charachter

but he had nothing to distract from him

the revelations were slow...

their were false leads etc...

oh another scenariao I just pictured...
a Jappanese kitsune whos Sister, Mother, aunt, or child had been slain by some slain by some hunter wanting "Big thrills" And is laughing in their safely warded Home and showing off their COOL 2 tailed Fox pelt.

or a Druid, someone defilled his grove out of SPITE and hes gone mad, he'd tended it sense he was a child with his master and sought to find a successor... some highschool boys are laughing "listen to that old fart talk about how SACRED that thing was, We showed him heh heh"

A dryad, someone injured her tree mortally and now shes dieing with it.

Well in anything like the aforementioned cases, Think buffy would be able to temper her protectiveness of others with compassion if she learned why they were on killing sprees

As I cant recall seeing an episode with a sympathetic murderer on the show.

no Im not , am a Fan of Werewolf the apocalypse though, so for me thats the only TRUE werewolves.


But yes I do think the thing with the kitsune wailing about how his sister has been brutally murdered while the hunters patting himself on the back for being so great behind his heavily warded mansion and admiring his two tailed fox pelt, would be a "how would buffy deal with that"

since innocent people are dieing by the kitsunes actions, but it just isnt just to let the hunter go unpunished, wheither it proves neccessary to kill the kitsune or not.

Not sure why but when it comes to seeing Warren murdere... my mind chorused agreement with Dawn... "Stop trying to play Gandhi Ms summers..."

I only ask as you've basically described the last season of Teen Wolf, the tv show, not the original movie.
 
is that from a werewolfs perspective, or does someone have to wrestle with "who do I punish?" since its the skinners "real fault"
 
The werewolf is the Buffy style character, and the kitsuane is mingled with a Jekyl and Hyde type situation, in the guise of his best friend. So he and his allies have to wrestle with the whole do we kill him or not thing.
 
used kitsune as I just spent the last 2 or 3 days studying jappanese mythology... and thought that a 2 tailed fox pelt would make a COOL decoration for someone evil enough.
