Best Short-Lived Characters

The other day I sort of realized how many great characters have been in the series, and died or went away so soon.

 

[Hero]

I voted for Larry because his character had a main role in that episode when we found out Oz was a werewolf. Then he died during my favorite Buffy battle aside from the one in Chosen.

Who was Lee, Merl, and Skip?

Parker:
Skip

Skip (David Denman) "” A demon working for the Powers That Be that overlooked Billy's torture in an unknown hell dimension. He has a very "guy next door" attitude. His will kept Billy locked in the cage of flames while robbing him of his ability to scream. Angel saves Skip as Billy chokes him in an attempt to escape his prison. Also responsible for "demonizing" Cordelia and enabling her to keep the visions.

Merl

Merl (Matthew James) "” A tongue-less lizard demon with the reputation of a snitch among the underworld community, sometimes spotted at "Caritas" karaoke bar. Often does favors in exchange of money, even Angel has used his help.

Lee

Lee Mercer (Thomas Burr) "” Attorney. While a working cog in the giant wheel of the evil law firm, it was Lee's idea to hire Faith, the newly arrived rogue slayer to kill Angel. When Holland discovered that Lee had his own agenda outside the firm, he was executed.



I voted for Larry,he was great...I miss him *crying*

I have to vote for Cassie, though she isn't on the list. She was only in a few episodes, but she made an impact. I think the first was the creepiest when it took Cassie's form.
Otherwise I'd have to vote for Veruca?(sp) The She-werewolf that lead to Willow's and Oz's break..
Sorry I didn't pick anyone on the list. I just think those two are the major stand outs in my mind, that I would liked to have seen more of.

I voted Larry, I think that the scenes he was in with xande are classics and funny.

Larry! Larry kicked so much ass. I love his little ra-ra speech in the season 3 opener, about how awesome senior year was going to be if they could have just a few less mysterious deaths.

Merl was hilarious too, and I loved Willy the Snitch. I was really bummed in season 6 when the bartender in Willy's Place was somebody besides Willy. This is totally off topic, but does anybody know why that was? Other commitments prevent the guy who played Willy from coming back?

Mine was Willy The Snitch I thought he was quite amusin...wot happened to him anyway?

Merl. He was hilarious. A demon snitch was such a great idea.

Ethan Rayne. He brought along the best storylines, Skip was a close second, but s4 screwed him up real bad!

I would also wanted to vote Cassie but because she wasn't on the list I had to vote Ethan Rayne. It would have been nice to see him again on s6 or s7... 🙂

I voted Caleb. I thought he was pretty cool is season 7

The guy who played Willy is on Becker, that's why he barely is after season 3, only once on season 4 and that's it.


Note: I voted for Lee, he was so cool on Five by Five/Sanctuary

Larry was the best short lived character. The way his and Xander's character acted with each other was so funny. I was so sad when he died at the end of season three.

I loved Ethan, I liked the tie in he had with Giles and the fact that he wasn't a demon, just a human capable of doing evil.

I"m abstaining from voting, My fav shortlived character was Kate, and she is not in there. 🙁

I think maybe she's not in there for the same reason as Doyle (although I can't say as I didn't make the poll.)

Most of the above characters were only in a few episodes where as Kate was in a couple more than them.

I never liked Kate the first time around, although I warmed to her when I was re-watching Angel.
