I kind of fell out with Lost when they chickened out and made Kate a good guy after all. JJ Abrams, for all his female characters, just can't write a female character with more than two dimensions. Imagine if Kate had turned out to be a proper baby-eating psycho, wouldn't that have been far more interesting than Miss Mopesalot? Bah. Maybe I just loves me psychos. Also, I'm beginning to wonder if they really are just making up crap as they go along...

... which is an emerging problem for Battlestar Galactica actually. The tricky thing about basing your entire premise, season arcs and indeed, opening credits, around the Cylons having a plan is that you need to have thought of a plan for them to have. Something more convincing than

"Well, they did want to breed us, and some crap about love. And they like God. And Baltar. I dunno. We'll fill in the rest later."

Um, Sydney Bristow is the most un2D character ever. And Kate isn't exactly a good girl. None of the characters are "good". Except Rose, who rocks socks.
The television content appears to be disappearing, but the last time I checked you could still link to Dexter here.

http://www.tv-links.co.uk/

It links to sites like YouTube and Dailymotion where they have tv content. Google just bought YouTube for 1.65 million dollars, and there's a ton of television content there so they must think it's legal. The way I figure it it's legal until they take it down.

the best show on tv at the moment is NipTuck..... I am in love with this show.... its awesome!

ooooh I love Nip/Tuck.... is there a new series on?
I'm addicted to Dexter, everything about it is so well done.

I picked up the books and read the first chapter of the second one thinking I would be safe from spoilers, I got 3 major ones and from what I know everything down to the excellent narrative is in the book. They have really stuck to it thankfully.

Another excellent one is Ugly Betty, at first I thought it was light hearted fluff but I actually teared up at last weeks.

I agree that Dexter is a great show, but I believe that it comes in second place behind the greatest show on television that is called "Heroes"!!!!!!!

Hmmmm I think best shows are....

The Sopranos ( I think I am in love with Tony... never really go for chubbsters usually either)

Bones (mmmmmmmmSeeleymmmmmmmm)

Lost

Nip/Tuck

also like Supernatural, Smallville, Desperate HouseWhiffs, The OC, House, Grey's..... hmm, watch TV much?

Nip/Tuck is the best show ever written.
I'm gonna go away from the trend here and say the best NEW show is Studio 60. Not sure if it's gonna make the cut, and if it doesn't that'd be a shame. The writing is tight...the jokes come like a machine gun, and while I didn't particularly care for Matthew Perry before, he's amazing as the head writer (in a burst of creativity, named Matt...). The comedy is a lot like the stuff I loved about Buffy-quick, sarcastic and full of pop culture references. Other than that...CSI, CSI, CSI, Supernatural, Medium, Heroes....

I've been itching to see this since they previewed this during the last ep of the West Wing - haven't seen it come up on UK cable/sat yet - is it on here?
I said Heroes, but Id also like to add Veronica Mars to that. I just watched all 53 episodes this week. Im now addicted!

DOCTOR WHO!!!!!

Words cannot stress enough how fabulous that show is. The new ones anyway. The old ones were awful, but the new Doctor Who's are seriously fabulous.

DOCTOR WHO!!! I just watched the last ep of season 2. I think I cried for like an hour! Then I called my boyfriend and when he told me he loved me I started crying and he thought something was wrong and nearly freaked out lol 😀

If it was on the list, Battlestar Galactica, as it is not, it is LOST.

I have now seen the first four episodes of Battlestar Galactica and I'm really not impressed. The only character I like is Gaias. Most of the other characters are quite annoying and the stories so far have been yawn worthy. I'm not sure I'll carry on with it.

I notice they use the same camera style that was implemented on Firefly. Firefly was first, right?

Hmm, what's the best show on television? Let's see...well here's a list of all the currently airing shows that I try to keep up with somewhat:

Smallville
Supernatural
Veronica Mars
Desperate Housewives
Brothers & Sisters
Lost
Ugly Betty
Grey's Anatomy (I'm still halfway through season two, dammit)
Heroes
The Office
Friday Night Lights
Dexter

While Dexter is definitely one of the most intriguing, grotesque, well written shows in recent history, I don't yet consider it my favorite, or the best.

Smallville, while interesting, is plagued with a star whose acting talent is downright atrocious and who lacks chemistry with all of his onscreen love interests. It also has some horribly written dialogue. I'm not sure why I still watch this show.

Supernatural is my favorite right now, but I know it's not the best.

Lost is my second favorite, it might be the best...

Veronica Mars has fallen a little in this season but it's still highly enjoyable and is one of the best teen dramas ever (I might like Freaks and Geeks more, though. I just discovered that on DVD.)

Heroes is a great show, I love watching it, even though I don't think it's as great as people give it credit for.

For me, it's a tie between Heroes, Lost, Dexter. Supernatural close behind.

It was, but BSG uses the same FX house. BSG has paid homage to Firefly plenty of times in return - from the incessently cheerful mechanic called Calley, to the Firefly ship in the fleet. BSG takes a while to settle, and it takes until S2 for the writers to really figure out the characters, but if the entire show was Baltar, Six and Roslin it would be well worth it. The problem is that they keep trying to make Apollo interesting when he just bloody isn't. He's SpaceRiley. Having set up the brilliant idea of the Cylons, why waste time with the fleshbags?

"Justice" cancelled, eh? That's too bad...I was starting to like that show.
Never any love around here for "24". That's just terrible. Six Seasons and over 33 million viewers can't be wrong. That show is brill. It rocks...no, it boulders, nay...it AVALANCHES!

Not to say all these other shows aren't great, but "24" is numero uno in my book. :: tu ::
