Flights to America are really expensive at the moment, which is why I'm reconsidering New York. I could get a lot more for my money elsewhere.

Greece is always a great option but to me NYC seems much more fitting for a milestone birthday celebration. There is just so much to do and see, there.
Been to Paris,
NY is still in top position, but it's just so expensive. Plus I've been to America several times before.
Iceland is also an option.
I'd love to go to Poland, however I don't feel like that would be a celebration trip. Happy Birthday, this is where thousands of people were killed.

Yeah all too far for just a week. Need at least 3 weeks cos you'd lose 4 days on jetlag! Bali is almost as far and half as cheap, plus you'd be sick of it after 2 days anyway.
Shame that Russia and Israel are all war-ing, both are close and would be cool to see.
I would say go skiing in the swiss alps but i duno what they are like in August. August is tulip time here - when do the dutch do their tulip festivals? Are there any flower shows on, or wrong time of year?
I don't think I have the coordination for skiing!
I wouldn't go in August, as that's school holiday time! I'd go either just before maybe June or early July, or September into October.
Tulips are usually around April into May time.
