Ok I feel like a rant.
Why oh why is it actors that get all the glamour and glory for films?
You don't see producers or directors going on chat shows or being interviews half as much as you do actors. And we all know the reason
Actors are the good-looking ones!
Ok that's not fair.
Mainstream Hollywood they are. You know the type who gets hired for their name over their talent.
And what really annoys me as a director is when people think actors make the piece to quote a recent post "He just wrote/directed this one"
Right I'm not going into which film or director that's not the point.
Writing makes the thing from nothing and directing is what stops it from being a stage play!!
Why now?
Last night Meg Ryan was on Parkinson promoting some new film. And spent the whole interview (when she wasn't evading questions and being terrified) talking about the director. There's a clue here. If we'd had said director it would have been a lot more interesting!!
Ok this probably looks like a directors pride parade. Which is I suspect partly is. But to quote Richard E Grant
"Acting's the easiest job in the world you just stand in a room and get told what to do!"
What do you guys think?
How to put this?
Do you like about projects from the actors or straight from the josses mouth??? 😀
Debate.
