Bones: General Discussion

So did anybody see the season premiere tonight? I loved, loved, loved it!! B&B are cute without being too sappy (the belly rub was almost OTT except that DB has such a funny way of doing it that it was OK for me). There was just enough screentime for all of the characters, Angela & Hodgins' baby is adorable, Cam's haircut is sexy, & I'm happy that Wendell's back. It does seem to me that they're setting up Sweets to kind of step in when Brennan can't go out in the field with Booth. Thankfully I always think their interaction is funny.

I am just so glad that Bones is back!! Too bad it'll be a shortened season.

I really enjoyed the new episode. I'm actually more excited for this new season than I thought I would be. Bones and Booth were cute together; I'm glad they still had their funny banter and disagreements going on. It was great to see Cam, Angela, Hodgins, Wendell and Sweets again. I hope we get to see lots of Caroline this season, she has always been one of my favorite characters.

I agree, thirteen episodes seems like so few. I hope they are all really good!
 
I did! I'm off work today with a stomach bug, so I watched it first thing in the morning. I haven't even had breakfast yet (though whether I should is questionable at best).

I have to say I didn't hate the episode. Considering all the expectations I've had, I could probably even say that I liked it. The case was interesting and I'm glad that Robo!Brennan seems to be a thing of the past. Mini-Hodgela is the cutest baba ever! I'm also quite pleased with the new opening credits, and the gore factor was also impressive. There were only a few minor inconsistencies that bugged me (to wit,
How the fudge does Angela have access to missing persons records?
and
the way they felt they had to remind the audience of Booth's gambling problem, and then him talking so casually about it
, but Bones being Bones, there's always gonna be something and if they keep up the pace they've set with this opener, I think I'll be able to live with it.)

Also, I want a peek at that omelette picture.

I'm a fan of Bones and have been since the show started (or at least when I got used to the idea that Booth wasn't a vampire. 😉 I enjoy the episodes but can't say that I'm excited anymore. Which seems to be me nowadays with most shows so not much to do really with Bones itself. I enjoyed the episode, got some good scenes. Michael stealing the screeen when he was on.

Still some Bones/Booth bickering as expected. It needs to continue.

OMG me too!! I love that Angela still has this crush-y thing with Booth. 🙂

Oh, & I totally cracked up at the whole squatting thing. And she's right you know- laying on your back (the stranded beetle position as it's affectionately called) is physiologically the worst position to give birth. Of course you guys know I love all that stuff, so I'm looking forward to lots of childbirth comments from Bones.

One thing that bugs me just a little bit is as an anthropologist Bones seems to understand & even appreciate the customs of other cultures, but is clueless about her own. So, the marriage thing. She doesn't seem to comprehend why it's important to Booth. But I do get that some of that is being abandoned as a child/teen. I wonder who's going to win that specific battle of the wills?

That's one thing that has always bothered me about the show. They often make her completely clueless about the society in which she lives, its just not believable. Not getting the pop culture references people make, being a little socially awkward be cause she is extremely literal and having abandonment issues as a result of her childhood/teen years is understandable; but sometimes it seems like they dumb her down when it comes to her personal life.

I wonder who's going to win that specific battle of the wills?

Maybe its wishful thinking but my guess is Booth. 🙂

I have to say, I thought Bones jumped the shark with season 6... the whole Hannah storyline, etc etc, just really bored me.

But glad I stuck with it (I'm so darn loyal, yuk-yuk-yuk) because I love that Booth & Brennen are having a bambino & LOVE that they are "together" now. I just hope the writers don't muck it up & split them up. That would seriously blow. 🙄
 
OK, the old lady at the beginning ("Someone's not getting their security deposit back!")- is she not the wig lady from Doublemeat Palace?! Totally looked/sounded like her!!

I seriously wish Brennan would get a freaking clue to include Booth in the pregnancy and birth of their baby! And while I think it's great that they're dealing with Booth's issues with "family" (last episode), I think it's unrealistic that they have not yet once mentioned Parker! This is not Booth's first experience being a father, or attempting to have a family. In fact, the failure of that last attempt at "family" should be adding to the urgency he's feeling for wanting things to go right this time. But they just gloss over this! And how does Parker feel about B&B being together, and about the baby? I'd love to know this and it's bugging me lol.

The promos for this last episode said something about "Bones gets Booth-y" which totally cracked me up!

Did you guys like Finn? I thought his accent was annoying and overdone. I'd love him to be evil- we need another scandal among the squints. Haven't had one since Zack!

I love Thursday nights: The Big Bang Theory (which had me laughing hysterically last night, that stupid bird!) + Bones = win!
 
I really didnt like the Zack storyline!! I know it was a huge surprise and kept everyone on there toes but I really liked Zack 🙁

Bones is a little annoying at the minute, the whole pregnancy and her not understanding why Booth would want to go to the scan with her. I love how Angela tries to explain everything to Bones. Angela is my favorite character.
 
I'm a bit behind so sorry if this is old news but my sister just got season 6 on dvd and I only managed to catch the occasional episode when they aired so it's been a bit differen't being able to see them all in a row, context... sometimes changes opinions a little bit I've come to realize 🙂

And I just have to say: I love Hannah. Like I really love her character and I really wish they would have kept her around for another season (hides from the flaming arrows)

What did everyone think about last night's episode? I cried for hours after that final scene. David really brought his game... and the editor did an incredible job aswell. it was truly beautiful... and so wonderfully fit into the theme of my day yesterday.
 
Last weeks episode for us in the UK, I enjoyed because it was nice and light hearted. Angela and Hodgins not being able to assemble their childs toy. Also having Sweets and Daisy tagging along with Booth and butting in when he was trying to do his job.

I liked Bones in this episode, she did show genuine concern about not being able to play well with her child. I love the ending were her and Brennan play fight with those toy guns.
 
I watched Thursday's episode last night, and yeah, it was great! I always love seeing DB cry (sick, I know), and I love his grandpa. His point was so poignant that "this was his son". No matter how much of a jerk someobody is, he or she is somebody's kid, KWIM?

And finally- a passing mention of Parker! That is REALLY bugging me!

Me too about the Parker thing.
Sorry to randomly show up and butt in, but I have decided to try to watch Bones I've seen two episodes so far! I liked the part when the guy blew up.
