Bones: General Discussion

Just be prepared for 5 loooooooooong seasons of UST.

God, seriously? I mean, I like this show, I love DB, just don't know if I can do that. I mean, I'm already impatient on Castle about the UST. I'll give it the old college try!

OK, I just have to comment that that's what I like about Whedon- no, none of the couples end up happy or together, but at least we don't through multiple seasons of UST before anybody gets together (& yes, I count Spuffy in that, because the UST didn't start until s5). Wow, makes it sound slutty, doesn't it lol?! Genre/sci-fi shows can do that though. Crime shows like Bones or Castle where the basic storyline is built around that attraction...I don't know how they resolve that well.

I think that Brenden is going to meet a guy and really like him and Booth is going to be really jealus and relize that her wants the be with her, again.

Bones have taken it too far, especially when we have confirmation from the creative team that B/B is absolutely happening. They should have gotten together last season. Six was just one too many, if you ask me.

I'm not one to throw up because something on the TV is nasty, but I threw up in that initial scene. I was eating... not a smart decision.
I have a habit of eating while watching shows. Don't know how many times I've realised I shouldn't while watching Bones. I've never thrown up though.

I liked how
Booth knew the killer... and I really hope we explore further their relationship as the hunt for this guy continues.
If they don't I'll be maaaaad.

Woman! Have you set your mind at proving how little I actually know about the english language and abbreviations? Yes I have googled UST now...

The will they won't they situation has been going on too long but I'm afraid that once they will it'll be as in most shows. It stops being interesting. So make this the last season and get it over with already. 😉

The gravedigger has been interesting so I was sad to see them gone. Now give us a new great villain. I doubt that the one mentioned in the spoiler above will take that place even if they stick around for some time.

Truth! I have given up on this show at least twice in the past because it's SO RIDICULOUS that two people would have that much tension and never once do anything about it. No one night stand they agree can't work, no passionate kiss... nothing. I usually end up throwing my hands in the air and walking away. Then I start watching again a month later.

- You could love a lot of people in this world. But there's only one person you love the most.
- Who do you know who you love the most when...
- You just do.
- What if you let that person get away?
- That person's not going anywhere.

Nothing new under the sun.

@Washburne you might wanna put that quote in spoiler tags...

I don't know about you, but I liked the new ep. Certainly not the best one ever aired, but, you know, it brought back a lot of things that made me like the show in the first place. A well-written mystery, science that was actually believable, a story arc involving Cam that didn't make me want to bash her head in with a cobble stone, non-vomit-inducing Hodgela and the best thing, careful B/B re-bonding. The goofiness in the car was a bit overdone maybe, but also cute in a way. Also, NO HANNAH. Me likey.

I can't edit my last post anymore, but I just found this and I think you should see this:

I read the spoilers so I knew it was coming, but still... WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Already???

Just finished th ep. It was OK. I don't ship anyone on Bones but I have to say that last exchange between B/B both annoyed me and made me smile. It annoyed me in the sense that it is
really shitty of Booth to imply that he is still Bones' guy when he has with Hannah (and apparently going to propose next week) despite having shot Bones down when she confessed her feelings for him. He is stringing them both along. I don't think he is doing purposefully but he is certainly doing it carelessly.
On the other hand it seems like we getting some forward movement (and hopefully resolution) to the will they/won't they/of course they will situation.

I enjoyed the episode last night. I liked the discussion of polygamy. I liked
Booth being right about this polygamist and Brennan being wrong
just a tad... I liked Cam choosing herself. And I LOVED the exchange between Booth and Brennan in the car where they're finding "mean" names to call the dead guy.

The ending scene was ok... I'm with Kean. On the one hand, we get closer to resolution to this storyline. On the other hand it's like "WTF Booth?!"

In a way I would argue it is completely OOC of Booth to do this. Throughout the whole triangle he has gone out of his way to be considerate of both relationships. I suppose the line between those relationships are getting blurrier and blurrier for him.

I think the line is getting blurrier...
I can't say that I was a fan of this week's ep, aside from the Cam storyline. It seems like all the characters aren't really who they used to be. Yes, the grow and develop, but I miss flighty Angela and Hodgins as a conspiracy theorist... And the whole thing of "will they/won't they" between Booth and Brennan is just getting out of control.. and that has been going on for YEARS, not just this season.

Overall, I still love the show, and I'll continue to watch until the very end.

(Ugh... I was going to comment on the promo for next week's episode, but I'm having formatting issues... no spoilers from me 🙂 )

To me, it didn't feel like Booth was stringing Bones and Hannah along. I didn't even think he was referring to Bones when he said "that one person isn't going anywhere". Of course that's what it'll be like in hindsight and they kind of overdid it with the eye contact, but for the moment I just thought they were talking about Cam and the gyn doctor and relationships in general.

Ok, I'm probably fanwanking. I just really, really liked that last bit.

I'm resurrecting this thread because I wanted to see if anybody watched "The Finder" this week? What'd you think? Do you think you would like a spin-off with these characters/actors/storyline?

I really was not looking forward to it. I don't like the idea of introducing a character simply to pilot a spin-off, it just seems disingenious & I thought it'd be hokey. I prefer it when it happens more organically, like Angel in Buffy for example- yes there were some definite moments in S3 that were a deliberate set-up for ATS, but the idea of the spin-off didn't occur until S2.

Anyway, it was better than I thought. I liked the lead, liked the actor that played Leo (somebody remind me of his name, he's so awesome, I'd watch him every week! 🙂). Ike grew on me, I did like her verbiage ("phyliosophical" instead of "philosophical", "enablizer" instead of "enabler" lol- hope they continue that), but her accent drove me freaking crazy. Way overdone. I love that actor that played the bishop, hope they would have him more. Anyway, all in all, yeah I think it'd make for an interesting show.

So what's the plan for these characters for the rest of this season (can't remember how much we have left)? How are they going to interact with the rest of the Jeffersonian/FBI crew? Any sparkage between Bones & Finder?

Yes the accent I am very picky about those I feel sometimes she was trying to hard.

I really hope nothing develops between Bones and Walter(Finder) I'm for B&B all the way.
I loved this weeks episode I have been watching the last few weeks and decided just to do a re-watch when it is off with all my other stuff I have to catch up on.

Is this spin off a official go? I liked all the actors if so except the female well I didn't not like her it is just I already know the two lead males so I am definitely okay with that.

I wonder what they will do when Emily starts showing in real life.

Yep, they've been shooting in Florida for a couple of months now.

I like the idea of the new show, I just don't see why it had to be a spinoff. As VG said, it doesn't really feel organic as it did with Buffy and Angel, because we've never seen these characters before and I don't think any of the Bones crew will be moving over to the new show (?). I just hope this season's weaknesses were due to the double challenge of shooting two shows at the same time, because at the moment it feels like Hart Hanson is pulling a Joss on us..

Have her wear baggy clothes, only shoot her while sitting, hide behind handbags... the usual tricks I suppose.

I'm pretty certain that B&B is going to happen in this season final, because Bones still hasn't been renewed by the network.
