Bones: General Discussion

I think I liked last week's ep better, but this one was one of the best ones of the season nonetheless. I wasn't incredibly sad when
Vincent died, mainly because I was so relieved that it hadn't hit Sweets or Angela. I'm not a Hodgins or Cam fan, but I'm still glad it wasn't them either. Vincent was fun, but I haven't really got attached to him all that much.

I agree with what everyone else said about
Bones and Booth. I don't think they had sex. But oh boy, will they have some next week! They'd better, anyway. Seriously. If they manage to not bump uglies next Thursday, I am quitting the show.
The ending was really sweet anyhow.

I am with you! It's been 6 seasons- sh!t or get off the pot! Seriously, get these characters together or have them move on to other (interesting) relationships.

I'd be fine with a conversation. I'd be perfectly happy with a conversation and a kiss. I'd be LEGIT perfectly happy, like "Angel loses his soul" happy with anything more than that.

mayfever agrees: but I want to see DB in his pelt. It's been way too long since we've had that pleasure.
Well I have no attraction to DB... so I'm not thinking about that...

I have zero attraction to DB as well.
Really? Oh my lol I find him incredibly well hot you could say even though he is older than me I think we can make it work 😛

He is exactly my age so I think we have a lot more in common! 😉

marisa- are you on our Merrick rotating David Boreanaz schedule?

I don't think she is and she bloody well won't be as there is little enough left for me after Randi is done with him! Every. Single. Time! >.< ;)

Ok you can have him I will take Tom Welling he is my love after all lol. Nope I am not how does that work?
Did they really had to pick my favorite intern? A bit annoying I must say... good episode nevertheless.

Last night's ep was pretty good. I am looking forward to next season to see how they are going to pick up where it ended.

I realized I like DB more in Bones because he actually gets to smile😀

OMG so I forgot to record it last night & finally got to watch it tonight! For a minute I wondered if it would end up to be
a dream sequence, after Angela said "it was a dream" but Emily is really pregnant after all & they used that plot deceive in an earlier season, right (obviously I haven't seen that ep yet)?
. I loved that they gave the baby
Vincent's name
. that was sweet.

Speaking of Sweets, I think his brain's going to explode when he finds out that
Bones & Booth are expecting
. But how much time has passed between the last ep & this one? Because
it generally takes longer than 1 wk past conception for a home pregnancy test to register pregnancy hormones.
.

And like most typical TV depictions, the birth scene drives me crazy! Most of the time labor doesn't start with rupture of membranes, & even when it does super-intense contractions don't start immediately. The "stranded beetle position" is not the best for labor nor delivery especially if you're having an unmedicated birth. Not every woman screams during unmedicated labor (I didn't-twice! Although I was vocal during pushing 🙂), nor does every woman cuss out their husband & every person in the room! Sigh. Sorry, just the rantings of a birth nerd.

Eh, they drugged me up so much i didn't have a lot of pain...? I have yet to see a realistic birth scene on a show.

KellGreen agrees: Eh, they drugged me up so much i didn't have a lot of pain...? I have yet to see a realistic birth scene on a show.
Interestingly, I found Kourtney Kardashian's birth to be realistic & not crazy-insane. Then again, that's a reality show.

I am absolutely devastated about who died!!!
Vincent Nigel-Murray was my favourite intern. Why couldn't it have been Fisher or Wendell or anyone not Vincent?
I know I'm going to cry when the episode eventually airs here.

I really liked Vincent Nigel-Murray! :*( But it made me smile a little when Angela & Hodgins fit in Vincent into their baby's name

Yeah, but i'm still so happy the writers went there. It really was "a change in the game".
Not sure how much needs to be put in spoilers so.

Guess they had to deal with Emily's pregnancy one way or another. Lets hope they deal with it in a good way not looking for every possible complication that can come up between Booth and Brennan.

Yeah, depending on the writing, it can be awesome or horrible of course.
I finally managed to watch Bones till the end. I watched 4 episodes after watching Glee and all I can say is.. IS THIS REAL LIFE? I don't know why, but this made my day 🙂

Booth and Brennan's Future After Shocking 'Bones' Season Finale Discussed
May 21, 2011

"Bones" season 6 ended with a big change to Booth and Brennan's relationship. The two engaged in a sex in the penultimate episode and found out that they are expecting in the season finale. Assuring fans that it was not a dream, exec producer Stephen Nathan says, "There is no alternate reality. What you see is what you get. They are having a baby. She is pregnant with his child. She [slept with] him in the previous episode and this was the outcome."

Although Booth and Brennan are now a full-fledged couple and expectant parents, Nathan insists that they "are essentially the same exact characters." He elaborates, "They're going to disagree on everything they disagreed about before, including how to approach their lives together, religion, family and now how to approach having a child."

Another issue that might cause an argument between Booth and Brennan are their different opinions about settling down. While Booth has always wanted to get married, Brennan is not a fan of marriage. Nathan says, "These still remain," before adding, "The tension that has existed in their relationship up to this point will continue." Nathan, however, does not rule out a wedding for the couple, stating "That will be addressed and not resolved in the season premiere."

Asked if Booth and Brennan will be living together when the show returns for a new season, Nathan teases, "That will be addressed in Season 7. When we open in Season 7, it's not Ozzie and Harriet." He goes on explaining, "It's not a perfect little domestic family situation. They haven't figured out where they're living, how they're living and what their future is."

OK, so confirmation that it isn't a dream, because I was still speculating on that myself. I am totally OK with the relationship conflicts, those have been there from the start. But I'm going to be honest & say that I don't want a B&B baby without a B&B relationship! So, work out your differences guys, I don't want any of this "we'll co-parent & just stay friends" crap!

Oh, and by the way I'm on season 4 in my Bones rewatch & I just watched The Bone That Blew. I love it when Booth tells Max that Bones is beautiful, and how he wants Bones & Max to be close to his soon. It wasn't the best episode ever, but those moments were really, really nice. 🙂 And of course- there's Gina Torres, fangirl squeal!!

Is anyone else really pissed at the finale? I really find the whole thing cheap. For me, the fact that Nathan had to make so many qualifications and assertions in this interview only backs up that opinion.

"There is no alternate reality. What you see is what you get. They are having a baby. She is pregnant with his child. She [slept with] him in the previous episode and this was the outcome."

Except we didn't see it. I'm not a B/B shipper but I think it is terrible disservice to the fans that after 6 years of waiting they were cheated out of that moment. I find it worse that them sleeping together led to Bones becoming pregnant, thus giving that night even more importance and the fans being denied that moment in their relationship even more infuriating.

Although Booth and Brennan are now a full-fledged couple

Again, this is something we should have seen happen on screen, not be told off-screen!

It's cheap, hack writing. Writing that I honestly feel is below a Prime Time show.

agreed on every word,
I'm a little annoyed this is how they decided to handle Emily's pregnancy. I mean, them actually having sex doesn't feel in character for the relationship at the point is supposedly happened. And that night, to me, means so much more if they just cuddled. So in my mind, I'm going to make them have sex another time and that's when the baby was conceived because that night just doesn't make sense to me. As far as the two of them being a full fledged couple... To me, that's not true yet. It's not true until we're told it is in the story... until we see it and/or have acknowledgment of it in the story. Which we didn't.
