I love that "normal criminals" (like people that rob and stuff) don't like these people.
Crime is bad, but this is beyond crime, and EVERYONE knows it, no matter what bad thing you could possibly feel people like this are gonna get a whole lot worse, this link to the episode (only available in the UK) raises allot and curiosity raises allot, but I haven't watched it and don't plan on it, because it doesn't matter, as long as even the worst criminals hate this type of thing, the world is right.
That may sound stupid, but I think it has to be considered that these people are the lowest of the low and society knows it. I think humanity can be faulted allot, but if anything brings people together it is knowing what is absolutely wrong, and people really do, and most importantly everyone here feels the same way.
People may feel embarrassed, ashamed or even guilty but there is absolutely no need, purely because they feel that response. That makes you 100% human, and really separates you from these people, and I urge you, that if you feel even the sliest bit of any of the emotions above, that you really feel those emotions, because they are what make you brilliant!
I totally understand that people can be freaked, and that they don't like that that the Boards and the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer are in anyway associated with this topic, but I think it's something that has been touched on in the series (Season 1, Episode: Nightmares) It wasn't the exact same topic, but close, and I think that for something that aired over 10 years ago, it made it's point 100% clear and if anyone feels that they are in anyway worried about the connection between the two, they just need to pull on this episode, because thats exactly why we love the show, it took real life problems and it dealt with them face on, metaphors are powerful things and it's that power that allows us to relate to them.
Buffy took problems and she fought every one of them, and we need to do exactly the same (so Corney I know!). If you need help with that, just pull on the strength of the boards, because everyone here is in the same position as yourself, we are shocked and confused, weather you were friends with him or not, the idea that someone here did this, is beyond comprehension, but it is the people here that will get you through it.
To be totally personal (not something I regularly do online), I haven't told 1 of my real life friends about this, because the connection between me and a person like this, or me and a message boards that discuss a TV show, that this type of person is connected to is hard. But it it the members on here, and the other staff members on here that help with this, reading your responses to this are so encouraging, and so helpful, that it makes me remember why these boards and this show are so important in my life! And I truly, and I really mean truly, hope others feel the same way.
We can put this behind us, and we will. He was banned a long time ago for a different reason all together, and I find that really encouraging, He is the only person I know of in my time on the boards thats has had any kind of controversy, (and thats 5 years!), but the fact that he was banned before this only speaks volumes, and I know I'm a member of staff, but I am also a member of these boards and community, and I don't get final say on who gets banned, so I think it only speaks to the integrity of these boards that he was banned, I would of felt a whole lot worse if he had still been an active member of this community, and it makes me believe that the other staff on here and the head mods and admins, really, truely and intelligently know what they are doing, and in there (our) integrity and knowledge we can trust.
Trust is a hard thing to come by, not something that should be asked for easily, and I couldn't be more sure of something when I say I have more trust in these boards then possibly anything. There has definitely been allot of things happen in the past year, I think it's safe to say 2009 was the hardest year of BB so far, but the boards are still standing, the community is still standing, the discussions are still standing, the debates and arguments are still standing, the fuels of passion are still standing and it's members (even if you had to leave for a little while) are still standing.
I say bring on 2010, may it be a better year for everyone of it's members, and the boards, and to quote the very reason that we have been brought together, (Im so sorry for the amount of cheese!)
