I've seen it in multiple places, but it's mostly them just dissing Willow and Oz's relationship (that I am a fan of too) that kind of gets to me. They're so quick to dismiss that relationship but raise hell when someone dismisses Tillow. Plus they seem to say they were soul mates or the perfect relationship and they had so much in common, but I found that the Tillow relationship wasn't like any of that and I liked it despite that.

Well, what did you expect from hardcore shippers? 🙂 Personally I love Tillow but dissing other ships or characters in order to "prove" the awesomeness of your OTP seems very silly to me. I mean, even if Willow/Oz is somehow "proven" to be the worst relationship in the history of the universe this wouldn't make Willow/Tara any better in itself, would it? Such attitude can be extremely annoying in fanfiction - many a writer prop up their favourite pairing by making characters or pairing they dislike look like fools. Heck, I would argue the show itself did it when they destroyed the Scooby friendship in S6 so that Buffy would have no choice to turn to Spike for comfort...
 
I really hate Buffy's arm hair. It's too blonde and too much. It almost glows in the dark.

I hate how the Master's nails are clearly glued on like a piece of paper. No attempt at making it look more real. -_-

* I think "The Body" was overrated. Until I read this thread I thought I was the only one that felt this way.

* I think SMG, after the first 2 seasons, looked increasingly emaciated and completely unattractive.

* I loved Kennedy. Hated the other potentials, but I loved this spunky little lesbian.

* I think Willow turning gay was totally forced and contrived. I would sooner believe Xander. Or even Buffy experimenting with Faith.

* I think the show lost its luster after high school and went increasingly down hill with each passing year. It probably should have ended with "The Gift."

* As much as I liked The Mayor, I think Mr. Trick the modern vampire deserved to be a season big bad.

Agreed, but I thought SMG was at her best looks wise in S3. She was gorgeous. Went downhill from there though, she looks awful on the S6 dvd boxset.

Again I agree. It all happened too quickly really, as I said myself, poorly paced.

I blame the photography with the s6 photos of SMG. Everyone didn't look their best in those photos, which was sad :(

I would have been cool with that, I do find that idea beautiful too. It's one of the reasons why I really like Brokeback Mountain. But, it wasn't just one woman with Willow when you take into account Kennedy. I think the whole Kennedy thing is one of the reasons why S7 really irks me, there was just no need for it at all.

And that's coming from someone who's not a Tillow fanboy.

Ah, see when I hear Willow say "It was a woman not women" it meant on the whole she wasn't attracted to women but that Tara just did something for her. She identified as gay in the relationship but now that they were ripped apart Willow was kind of just back to loving people when she was ready to, leaving the option open. I began considering Willow gay when she began dating Kennedy as it didn't seem to be just a "I like your personality and somehow ended up liking you" kind of deal.

I guess when I hear the phrase "not women, one woman" it means to me that this one person I fell for just happened to be a woman but outside of this relationship anything could really happen and my attraction isn't just solely women now.

And I think mostly just from the Willow finding out she's gay I wanted to see her question it a bit more and try to figure out what it all meant instead of it just being instant. Willow up until this point seemed to question a lot of things and analyzed things a great deal (which is why I identify with her the most) and for me to just see her go "Huh. I'm gay" without much thinking just seemed odd to me. I also would've liked to see how Tara's sexual orientation came about in her conversation with Willow as it seemed to me all they did was talk about magic at that point (until Willow decides to introduce Tara to the Scoobies).

I think the only glimpse of that I got is in "The I in Team" when she says "I could've brought someone" and Buffy asks her about it and Willow backs out. To me it seemed then that it kind of just hit Willow she liked Tara more than a friend.

I didn't think it went instantly. I got the impression she was curious, and that after that moment in 'Hush' she purposely wanted to hang out with Tara and do magic with her to test the waters, so to speak. But I haven't seen season 4 in a while, so I might be wrong here.

Ahh, I guess by "instantly" I should've put "unquestioned". I didn't see Willow stop and question things and ask what these feelings meant to her. She kind of just went with it like "Oh, this isn't new at all".

As I mentioned in my other post on the last page, if they did have sex by the time "Who Are You" rolled around it would've only been 5 episodes they'd known each other with 2 episodes of Willow realizing that she actually liked Tara. I think that's what I also mean by quickly. "The I in Team" is when their relationship went romantic but "Who Are You" is said (by most) to be their first time, that's not a lot of time for Willow to wonder about things.

I guess as someone questioning their sexuality, I wanted to see Willow figure things out so I'd have a role model in the "questioning" department. I get the "It doesn't matter you like who you like" speech a lot but with this character and who she is, I figured she would've been like me and began analyzing things like I've been doing. So it's probably coming more from a personal place.

Willow has boundless curiosity but she is also extremely romantic. So I think falling head over heels in love with a woman without analyzing it much or even realizing it for quite some time is in character. Plus, there was an awful lot of things we never got to see in Tillow because of network restrictions, Willow's confusion and indecision could have been explored more but I think this was done well in "New Moon Rising".

I think that's actually quoted on wikipedia (and in an old thread here once). Joss said that Willow was bisexual until after the death of Tara they decided they'd be killed and put her with Kennedy instead to quell the anger.

Also, I do know about the network restrictions but I thought that kept them from exploring Willow's sexuality in a physical manner not just a mental manner. And I figured Willow would question a lot because she had tons of questions when she was with Oz and Xander, heck even Kennedy so I figured it would've happened at the beginning of her relationship with Tara.

We don't know what exactly went on behind the scenes but I think it's telling that even the word "lesbian" is never used in "New Moon Rising" and "The Yoko Factor". Also, unfortunately at this time Willow was not as close to Xander and Giles as she had been before, so maybe the writers thought the conversation with Buffy in NMR was enough. I don't agree but on the other hand this left delightful gaps for fanfiction writers to try to fill, so I can live with that.

Yeah, but I was thinking, maybe they did it on purpose? SMG has an almost ghoulish look, which is quite fitting considering the general mood of the season. 🙂

I've already confessed this but I need to do it again. The more I think about it, the more I love Connor. I used to see where the Connor hate people came from, but I don't really any more. Connor is a great character and I love him. I also don't get how people compare him to Dawn. Dawn sucks and is annoying and whiny. Connor is awesome.

I like Connor too :) and Im not a fan of the Dawn/Connor comparison either, maybe they compare them so much because of their age?

I didn't like him much either, but you can't help but warm up to him. I seriously can't see myself liking Dawn though, lol. Ever. 😛
