Buffy and Angel Episode Club

I think it's amazing that David B. and Julie Benz both had characters that started off on BTVS' 1st episode and became so huge with a spin off. They really got a full walk through Whedon universe.

I've often thought that with Angel, Cordy, and Harm that they are the longest running characters of all. All three were introduced in the first two episodes of Buffy, and all went out in the last season of Angel.

I can remember seeing an interview with Julie some while ago saying "I was in the first scene of Buffy, I should be in the last scene of Angel" which would of been kinda funny but there would be no point.

The journey they took Darla has gotta be the best for anyone of the Buffy/Angel verse. You would not of thought from that episode that she would of been such a impact throughout the whole era of Buffy & Angel.

Good point. Looking back now, it's still hard to believe.

I believe it is...I'll watch it today while I clean when I get home from work 😀 :hihi: :bounce: :turkey: :cheerlead

May I just ask, why is it this week Restless?!?! Any particular reason?!?!

We just all voted on a few episodes we wanted to see, then AshSan made a list for the four weeks (which you can see a few pages back) and we all agreed to it!!!

We'll be voting on eps for the next four weeks soon so make sure you vote!

Well it was meant to be changed with Earshot so I could see it but S4 came early. The reason Restless, people seemed interested and the episodes are just randomly chosen, it would take about 3 years to watch all eps in order so we're just going for any episodes.

Week 1- Monday 23rd-29th
"Welcome to the Hellmouth"

Week 2- Monday 30th-5th Sept.
"Restless"

Week 3- Monday 6th-12th
"Once More, With Feeling"

Week 4- Monday 13th-19th
"Earshot"

Is the list. So this week, Restless.

Would of posted about this yesterday but forgot but in my defence, worked 9 hours yesterday, 12 in total if you include the getting ready and travelling so bah bad memory. Did the same today and remembered though.

Back on point, Restless. Watch, discuss, etc.

You know...all last week I had it in my mind we were watching Earshot..but I double-checked and it still said Restless so I thought maybe you had edited the post and changed it...my fault! Sorry!

No its fine, as I said the Season Four box set has arrived (and S5 arrived this morn 😀) so I can watch it. I'll just jump from Hush to Restless for the sake of this. No worries.

Glad you got your boxsets!! :)
Okay, I took a detour to watch that amazing fight scence between Buffy and Adam in Primeval. The Gun/Dove effect gets me every time. Anyway I'm here to report on my Restless opinions. Well, after watching it once I decided to rewatch it with the commentary by Joss Whedon on. Why not take advantadge of the DVD feature. He helped clarify what nedded to be understood. Such as "Behind the giggle" and "That Swing-Thing." BTW those are titles I just made up but you'll understand what I mean when listening and watching the episode. I interpret the show how I want to but also want to see where he was coming from with his ideas. I definetly recommend using the commentary for this episode if your confused on a concept. The episode captures the essence of a dream amazingly. Like how things can be strangely bright and words are repeated, and sceneries collides. Few highlight shots/moments: Xander's whole Vibrant French Theme, Spike and Giles swinging it up, Buffy's face paint/giggle/carnival slay, Buffy and the Slayer wrestling in the desert and after The Hair Care Comment made by Buffy, Sarah's Acting debut(she looked great in the wig and costume), and of course those shots of the kitten(so intense, seriously). All in all great episode.

You guys don't have to do this or anything....but would anyone mind if we kept this week (as scheduled as Earshot) Restless? Meaning that we keep it for two weeks, instead of one? I know Blessed has reported on his analysis, but no one else has (not to degrade Blessed's review!). I just wondered so maybe we could get other's opinions/views/reviews on the ep.

I would totally be into this! Great idea 🙂 I love to watch old episodes but I never know which ones to watch, so if we discuss afterwards it gives me a new sense of purpose!

Sign me up. Definitely.

Okay, so this thread is dead I suppose, unless we're discussing somewhere else...?

There was so much to Restless which was hidden concerning future things in the Buffyverse which I love, such little things are pivotal later on!!! Joss sure did ana amazing job with Restless, he is one clever guy.
