I balk at the idea of Spuffy in S9. Its setup is far, far too similar to that of S6 for my liking. Even Joss self-references it with the jab at clinical depression in 40. He's already laid the groundwork for the dependence with Spike knowing something important about her that no one else does.
Buffy is lost in life, wandering through a world she has no place or direction in, has a crappy job just to pay the rent, carrying around a lot of guilt and anger and her only friend is Spike. S6 all over again there.
Spike is her confidant again and the only one she can trust because he knows the truth about what happened with Twilight and isn't in England or crazy.
Sex sells. There will be sex in S9 whether it makes sense or not. Whether it's Buffy and Spike or Buffy and Hunky Demon, which will drive a wedge between them, there's going to be some. Joss's proclivities when it comes to sex with characters who aren't fanboy avatars are well established. It won't end well.
I don't have high hopes for good Spuffy in S9, especially since there is going to be a S10. Allie can say what he wants. He also said their relationship would be respected in Last Gleaming. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I don't see much positivity in the setup for S9 we saw in issue 40.
I really really doubt it'll be like Spuffy of season 6. Buffy and Spike wouldn't go there again, the writers wouldn't go there again, and Joss wouldn't go there again. Season 6 Spuffy is in a whole other place than season 9's, especially after season 7 and all of the progression they made then.
