Here we go.
New Orleans, LA : Food. Jazz. Blues. Audubon Zoo. Aquarium of the Americas. Street musicians. Voodoo. History. Edginess. Really hot and humid. It's the Big Easy, dude! There's nowhere on earth like it. I'll be back as many times as humanly possible.
Las Vegas, NV: Clean. Controlled rowdiness, with security to keep it from getting out of hand. It's the city that wishes it was New Orleans...Nice weather. Gambling and good restaurants.
Cozumel, Mexico Best damn diving/snorkelling in the Northern Hemisphere. The water is so clear, and the fish are just amazing...inexpensive, and the people really want your business...
Orlando, FL: M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E. And Universal Studios. Hoovers money out of your pocket at the speed of sound. 'Nuff said. (What does EPCOT stand for? Every Person Comes Out Tired)
Miami, FL: Architecture/Art Deco. Gorgeous weather. Party Central, if that's what you want, but lots of good food and entertainment of other types too, and the BEACH!
Key West, FL: Quaint, expensive and overrated.
Athens, Greece: This was my dream trip, so I'm hardly gonna trash it, now, am I? History and mythology, archeology and sun. Food is inexpensive and sooooo good. Culture, culture, culture. It was so amazing to see the ruins of the cities I'd read about for so many years. And the people are so friendly. We had a picnic in one guy's orchard. Picked a couple of his fresh lemons which he encouraged, since he "had the best around". So nice!
Calgary, Alberta: Pretty city, but it's damned cold in the winter. Skiing is only 1 hour away, and it's some of the best in the world. Lake Louise is a must see...breathtaking scenery. Rocky Mountains and wildlife. GO FLAMES GO...except that hockey is on strike...🙁
That's it...so far...
