Becoming pt2

The Good;
All of it, every scene between Spike and Buffy, Giles and Angelus and Spike and Joyce. Great scenes with all the Scoobies and the ending just too heartwrenching for words, especially with Sarah MacClachlan's beautiful music, all classic.

The Bad;
Are you kidding? It's all too wonderful!

Best line;
Joyce; "Have you tried NOT being a Slayer?"

Character death; Angel or so we think?
Shot;
Tied up; Giles and tortured
Knocked out; Dru which is rather strange, Spike seems able to knock her out with a chokehold despite the fact that she doesn't breathe and has no circulation.
Women good/men bad;

Questions and observations;
Joyce thinks Buffy is the Slayer because she didn't have a strong male role-model. Of course she'll later find out that Buffy is the Slayer because she did, she had Giles. The first (and only unless you can correct me) appearance of Willow's 'resolve face'. Xander's remarks at her bedside set the basis for their relationship in season 3. Willow successfully casts her first spell. Why is Buffy still wanted when Xander and Cordy can back up her story? Spike's reluctance to end the world seems odd considering he was happy to do it earlier
A couple of points that escaped me about Becoming pt2, firstly Dru seems to be deeply enamoured of Giles but then she always did have a thing for 'daddy'. Secondly as Jenny Dru says to Giles that they'll get to do all the things they never had a chance to implying that Giles and Jenny never did have sex

10/10 and I need a hug

MY FAVOURITE EPISODE EVER! LOVE IT SO MUCH!

I have very hard feelings for this episode, it always gets to me. I like Spike and Buffy scenes (but I'm NOT a Spuffy fan) because they are funny and I like Spike as big bad. I love his "Why Do I Love Earth" speach. I always say that Full of Grace is the best song for that episode, and that scene with the Scoobies in the end it says "Because everything we say and do hurts us all the more" and that fits just perfectly. And the last line of the song "I know I could love you much better then this" just hits me everytime. I must say it cuts me open sometimes. Yeah I always wondered how she lost her breathe when she has none. Angel's death.. that is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the tv history.

10 is so low rating for this episode even if it's out of 10 haha 🙂
And I'm sending you one big hug.

I have to say this is one of my all time favorite episodes! From everything that built up to the season finale, I think Becoming Part two did an amazing job at wrapping up the season. I totally agree with the interaction between Spike and Buffy, it was too funny. Plus the conversations between Spike and Joyce. The best part is the end, with the sword fight and Angel getting his soul back was sad to watch because it was to late. The music is another thing that I loved in the episode, Full of Grace was prefect for the end.

I always found myself wird for liking this episode so much because it includes Angel's death and Buffy's escape, and I'm a huge Bangel fan. But that is the point, that episode is just everything for them.. her face expresions, that is just so powerful if you look at them closely. I can't say I wish that episode never happened, like I wish end of Graduation par 2 never happened, because I love it so much. I think at that point, when he is back, she realised how much she loved, but like she said that is the job she had to do 🙁

It was a very tragic episode...Buffy and Angelus's fight(what an amazing swordfight) the "no weapons no friends no hope" speech by Angelus and Buffy's reaction,Spike's unexpected help,Willow trying to help her friend and Buffy's feelings at the end of the episode!poor Buffy...she is just 17 and she killed the only man she loved(and ever love perhaps).I totally understand why Buffy ran away!At that moment of her life she must have thought that noone would understand what she had to do and how hard it was...that although Angel had lost his soul he was still the person Buffy loved so much,she must have thought that her mom would never accept her back in the house...really hard times! it made me cry

Today I watched this episode again. And her face, I can't make it go away. When Angel is back, she has this face shape. She is so happy. You can see how happy she is. He just holds here there, and then she opens her eyes and realizes she has to kill me. Where did she get the strenght? I know she is the slayer, but that was the love of her life. And she made him go away. I just look at her eyes, and I see all the pain. And that is a lot of pain.

Becoming part 2 is my favorite season finale.
Absolutely on Buffy but maybe even on any TV show.

Buffy killing Angel is just one the greatest TV moments ever.
The whole sequence from Buffy realizing that Angel is back to the moment she tells him to close his eyes and so on is so sad but yet beautiful somehow. Love it.

/SK

I became a fan of Sarah McClachlan because of this episode. Her music is good.

My favourite parts: the interaction between Spike and Joyce. That is always gold. And Spike in the end, respected Joyce which is probably why he never killed her.

I love the banner! One of my favorite quotes/moments!
I liked the Buffy/Spike team up. I loved Angelus in this episode so much.
I felt bad for Kendra. I love the scene with Willow doing the spell.
Full of Grace was a great way to end it.

It's almost too beautiful. The stuff leading up to the end is great, but those last 10 minutes are pretty much the episode to me. I remember the first time I saw it, I couldn't even talk about it without crying for a week. And I still cry every time I see it. It's just soooo heartwrenching. Plus, it contains what is perhaps my favorite moment for Buffy: "No weapons, no friends, no hope. Take all that away and what's left?" "Me."

I think when we see the season 7 ep Lies My Parents Told Me you realise exactly why Spike always had such a genuine affection for Joyce

Favorite. Episode. EVER.

When I watched the ending, I was antsy. I was like 'Come on, hurry up spell!' and I literally jumped out of my seat when it finally worked. I was so happy haha But I noticed that Buffy didn't put the sword down and when she told him nothing was happening I realized what was about to happen. lol I was already teary eyed 'cause I was glad Angel was back, but when she killed him that just did it for me and I ended up crying like a baby.

"It's so sad!" That was all I kept saying after watching it. It really was tragic. It's the main reason it's my favorite episode, although the entire episode was just great in and of itself.

It's why I love Joss, and BtVS. No other show has gotten to me emotionally like BtVS has. I NEVER cry during TV shows and whatnot, since I know it's not real. But from the moment I watched Welcome to the Hellmouth I got sucked in and emotionally attached to every single character.

very nice post! I agree about BtVS makes me cry many times...and so does AtS...so many emotional moments!
Ah the last 10 minutes of Becoming 2 one of the saddest and yet most beautiful moments in any love story right up there when Jack dies in Titanic. It really showed Sarah Michelle Gellar's acting ability and David's and their acting chemistry came shining through. I bawled like a baby the first time I saw it and still cried every time I saw it after that. So true for Buffy and Angel depicting their beautiful yet seeming out of reach love. it gives me shivers just thinking about it. BTW I am every inch Bangel. IMO

Would never have guessed!:coolman:

Oh my, I love everything about this episode. From Buffy and Spike working together, to Angelus torturing Giles, Buffy and Joyce having it out and of course - the final heartbreaking scene.
I have never loved Buffy more than in that second when she grabs Angelus sword between her hands and kicks his ass.

Favorite quote Buffy: "I have had a really bad day, okay? If you have information worth hearing, then I am grateful for it. If you're gonna crack jokes, then I'm gonna pull out your ribcage and wear it as a hat."
