Just got done listening to the commentary on "Not Fade Away" and at the end when the credits are rolling, Jeff Bell says to take a minute to read the names of all his colleagues, how much he'd enjoyed working with everyone and how much everyone credited contributed to the show "with the exception of two producers who's names I can't say cause Fox won't allow me to but they know who they are." Clearly referring to the Kuzui's. Thought it was interesting cause clearly there's a lot of resentment about them and not good feelings. Ugh really, can Joss or Fox not just buy back whatever rights to Buffy they have?! They really shouldn't be allowed to make a Buffy movie.
I guarantee you that in the Kuzuis' perfect world, Joss would have volunteered to make a movie... a whole series of movies, in fact... and the Kuzuis could continue doing what they do best: sit back and collect an effortless paycheck.
But Joss hasn't cooperated, and worse yet, he's been expending all his effort on non-Buffy-related new TV series that they aren't entitled to a piece of. And now the Kuzuis have no income at all except for the dwindling residuals on the Buffy and Angel DVD sets.
So, it's necessary to get proactive, and hang Buffy upside down and kick her a few times until money falls out of her pockets. That should keep them in QVC shoppin' money for a couple more years.

I wouldn't be suprised if Kuzius plan all along was to say they're making a new Buffy movie so Joss would feel that he has to get involved in it, as he probably doesn't want them ruining it.
