Buffy Season 11 is coming....

I found the Faith/kid Giles thing very disturbing, the same as Olivia/kid Giles and fairy gal/kid Giles. But it seems that the writers were determined to explore the hormone part of Giles more.🙁

Well, getting a hard on from hugging Faith, staring at Willow's breasts or wanting to boink Olivia was creepy but from his POV at least not reprehensible since they're all adults.

Sundrop is like Giles, an adult mind in a child's body. It's bordering on pedophilia but can be understood like Willow/Aluwyn. Loving/being attracted to the person behind the exterior yadda yadda yadda...

Giles going to school so he can lust after real preteens would turn the puberty metaphor distinctly to pedophilia. That would be really disturbing but I don't think (hope!!!!) they'd do that.

I'd be very happy with less Andrew and a lot more Willow, especially if there is no Xander, because I do worry the writers will try to 'replace' Xander with Andrew, making him more like Xander and that would be horrible.

What I like about the "Wiccan community" is that it might show some of Willow's talent and joy in teaching like when she overtook Jenny's classes or in "Time of your Life" S08. Would give her some depth back. I do fear that Andrew replaces Xander as well. Ugh.

Who was it that died? Anyone important? It sounds like the writers are just using kid Giles for all jokes. I think they forget that people loved the father daughter relationship he had with Buffy. Now he's been reduced to a hormonal teenager.

I hope Faith either moves onto Buffy (I stand by my phrasing) or gets her own mini series. I hope Andrew doesn't replace Xander.

I'll miss the burgeoning friendship between Xander and Spike. Their pillow fight was epic. After the initial punching in S7 faith and spike seemed to be pretty friendly so I can see her taking over Xander's role. Andrew would be a poor choice as spikes new bestie and from what I've heard he won't be around much. It's odd how there doesn't seem to be any mention of dawn. Maybe she takes off for a Tibetan monastery to recover from her loss?

Yes.
Xander is killed by Fake!Anya

From where comes this myth that Buffy/Giles is a father-daughter relationship? It's suddenly an issue in S10, yeah, but had never been before. Giles was always very evasive and refused to connect with Buffy, Willow or Xander on a fatherly/parental level if he could help it.

I agree that Giles is abused for comic relief since his resurrection and hadn't anything else interesting to offer.

Maybe there are no mentions of Dawn because of Xander. Any hints to her role in S11 could spoil content of the last issue in S10. They want to keep us in the dark I guess.

Hey, if Buffy and Spike are still together... isn't that some kind of Whedonverse record?

Buffy and Riley were longer together, I guess.

Oh that's terrible! This is why I don't read the comics. I doesn't sound like the show that I love. Giles and Buffy had the father - daughter relationship on the show. It's sad that's what a great character was reduced to.

I never knew about the comics before joining here, and I haven't read them yet (I'm still very confused about the subject), but man am I excited to read this. I just saw the article on the Dark Horse website. Can't wait to start getting my hands on the comics.

We have a forum for a current re-read of the comics 🙂

Three cover pics of BtVS S11:

@DoctorRock Can you tell what they are saying on the third one?
My question exactly!!!

Sorry. I asked myself the same question but haven't found a higher resolution yet.

The first pic is most interesting imo. It shows Buffy fighting D'Hoffryn, at her feet lying dead bodies. Humans as well as demons. A hint that S10 might end with a cliffhanger?

Further, the three bodies at the front look like the Master, Angel and Drusilla (or Faith, if she's changed her fashion style). Don't look too long at it, I already hallucinated Willow among the bodies. When I look at the cover of #30 (the five gravestones behind Buffy) and at this I get slightly angsty and paranoid.😱

There are further conspiracy theories that it might be the beginning of the apocalypse which leads to the Fray-verse according to the color of Buffy's scythe.

Priceless
Priceless
I thought that looked like Angel too

I don't see it...

I see bodies, but I can't identify them. Why would The Master, Dru and Angel of all people be the ones in the cover?

The bodies or resemblances?
Keen for season 11, but still disappointed they didn't bring Tara back 🙁 Why is she the only one who remains dead??

What about Oz? I don't ever remember seeing him in a comic but I haven't read them all.

I don't really have any objection to dividing the comics series into "Seasons," as much as I do with the time between the end of one and the beginning of the next. In the comic book format, there's o reason whatsoever for it. There are no actors who need time off to work on other projects, and the writers and illustrators can be changed or replaced at will.

As for the upcoming proposed 12 issue "Season," since there's only about as much action per issue as there was from one commercial break to the next on the TV show, that equals out to a 3 or 4 episode story. That's more a story arc than a season long story line.

again that was my initial reaction too, but i feel it may be better bc theres less time for crap. however, i dont feel good about spike and willow's arcs as i feel they may be trying to throw in too much without having enough issues for proper execution.
