Buffy The Animated Series Update

David Boreanaz has recently stated that he probably wont be voicing Angel on the forthcoming Buffy Animated Series.

"Joss came to me, and he said, 'We're doing the Buffy animated thing, and you're more than welcome to come down.' And I've just been so tied up now with work that it just hasn't happened. So I don't think it's going to happen."

Meanwhile, Marti Noxon has told journalists that the animated series might not be on the Fox Kids channel as previously thought.

"The animated series is still in the works," Noxon said in an interview at UPN's winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif. "I think that ... there's been some problems with Fox Family TV. So I'm not sure it's going to go on, ... not because of anything having to do with the show, but because I think Fox is not sure that they want to do more family programming like that. ... It's not going away, because scripts are written and stuff has already been done. But right now, the question is where it's going to end up airing."

Aww damn, it would've been good having David voicing angel! I hope they don't have som dodgy voice for him and buffy. Mind you most of the cast are signed on for it already 🙂 Thnks for that Ross.
 
It will be weird to have someone else voicing Angel but you know whatever works. That picture is pretty cool 🙂 I hope they do have it on another netowrk because I don't get Fox Family...
 
Thanx for posting Spike! It's a shame David won't be voicing Angel. I can't wait for the series to come out, I think it will be way kool!
 
Wow, well that's the first time i've seen an image of the show and i'm quite amazed actually. The feed seems to be pretty detailed and alot more Anime-orientated than i first thought was going to be implemented. For a start there's far more shadowing than most of WB's previous projects i.e. Batman and the characters actually look nicely drawn in comparison to their counterparts. Most definitely looking forward to the show now. (Can't wait to hear Alyson's voice-over of that Willow!) ::heart:: 🙄
 
Awww! That sucks major booty! I hope David does eventually get to do the voice of Angel though! Otherwise it wont have the same affect if someone else does it! Well I hope they figure out everything soon!

Bah. I was hoping David would do it, but I'm sure whoever they get will be great 🙂 I can't wait to see what everybody looks like!
 
I wonder who will do Angels voice then? I never really thought of anyone else doing it. I definatly can't wait to see what everone looks like it should be interesting.
 
I wonder who is gonna do Angel's voice. I wonder what channel it is going to be coming on. I wish that it would come out on Fox Family because I actually think that I get that. Maybe they should put it on Cartoon Network or something. ANYTHING THAT PEGASUS SATELLITE PEOPLE GET!!!!!
 
No pics as of yet... it's all on paper at the mo in contracts and scripts etc etc. All the Buffy Co are in on it apart from David but if David cannae voice his character what about Cordy and Possibly Wesleys voice?? Will they be appearing in the Cartoon version of the show.... David not doing his voice over leave alot more questions unanswered.

Ahh, that makes sense. The featured pic has SMG and AH with collegiate season four hairstyles, and I recall Joss saying the Animated series is set in season one.
 
It's a pity that SMG and DB won't be doing their own voice overs, but I am looking forward to seeing the show. I hope it will be good as this could attract new audiences to Buffy, however, I would like to see some screenshots as I'm interested to how the characters will be shown in toon form.

I agree, cartoons are meant to be fun and bold when your referring to the age range the "Rugrats" and the "Powerpuff Girls" are subjected towards. Buffy however is a maturer program in comparison and definitely deserves the detail and depth associated with more modern conventions of animation (Anime) i.e. Manga, eastern-based productions (Vampire Hunter D, Kite, Ninja Scroll, etc) and many of the comic book, turn program/films out there. (Marvel, DC, etc.)

...i'll just have to keep dreaming of Urotsukidoji's storyline being implemented into the show though. 🙂
