"Sexy actress Sarah Michelle Gellar will be 30 when she plays adolescent Sabrina in the movie adaptation of Sabrina The Teenage Witch.

The Buffy The Vampire Slayer star, 27, has beaten Britney Spears and the TV show’s star Melissa Joan Hart to the part, which begins filming in late 2006.

A source says, "A few names have been mentioned, including Britney Spears, but recently she’s lost that teenage innocence tag.

"Gellar might be a bit older but she still looks fantastic.""

How.....odd. I hope the movie is not going to be corny and teeny but guessing it will be. Why not make "Sabrina the Adult Witch"?, I mean in the show she went up to early 20s anyway didn't she?
 
Wow, I never pictured Sarah playing Sabrina. Hmm. This movie should be interesting. I just hope that it doesn't turn out all like a teeny movie and stuff.
 
How many Sabrina movies do we need? We had the movie then the tv show which spawned more movies.
 
Very unlikely. This originally came out of a British tabloid The Daily Express. They are known for their trash.

Remember the rumor about Holly Valance taking Sarah's role as Buffy? Also made up by a British magazine. I think it was also The Daily express.

And regardless of her being 30, she could look young enough to do the role. Heck I'm 30 now *faints* and always get between 18-23 when meeting new people.

I agree though - too many Sabrina movies! And I also wonder if it's true... interesting.

SMG has a very youthful look to her. I honestly don't think she looks anything like thirtey.

I'm not that much of a Sabrina fan anymore, because I've been all protesty toward Hollywood's portrayel of witchcraft, so even if it is her, (and it's true), I probably won't see it.
 
I think its false. Last time I checked Melissa Joan Hart kinda owned the rights to the name Sabrina The Teenage Witch. And why would they choose someone else over the orignal? Melissa Joan Hart is popular for being Sabrina so it would draw more viewers as opposed to getting a whole new person who doesnt even know the charecter inside out(like Melissa does0 and would anger a lot of fans.

It would be like having Melissa playing Buffy on the big screen...
 
I never liked Sabrina.. And I've never liked Melissa Joan Hart.. But she is Sabrina, and noone else is.. Can't believe Sarah would want to play Sabrina.. no, I don't think it's true..

Actually I think you're right here, because it's her production company that produces the show.

Well that's not so far-fetched...look at Sarah taking over the role of Buffy.
 
I could see Sarah doing something like a tiny walk-on part, just to add credibility to it.

I like it to. I grew up watching Melissa on Clarissa Explains It all so ended up watching Sabrina. Gotta love that cat!

lol I know how you feel Jenny, i'me 23 next month and been refused alcohol and even cigarettes. So some people don't think i'm 16!
 
I can say now that this is just A RUMOUR and not even a very good one. I seriously doubt the SMG would play the part of Sabrina(and a sabrina movie is even more unlikely) if you ask SMG about thsi she would probably say "Are you on crack or something?"
 
this sounds like a total rumour! why on earth would they make another Sabrina movie (lame show in my opinion)? i don't see SMG as Sabrina and how could she beat MJH out of it? that just seems really strange. Plus doesnt' seem like a smart career move for SMG since a Sabrina movie would probably go straight to video...
