Buffy's Major

She said once that she really liked poetry. not much to go on, I know, but possibly some branch of literature or English in general.

^ I'm guessing Willow was something sciencey/math related. Tara, hmm, I dunno. I can see her being interesting in education/nursing, something like that.

As for the Buffster, my guess would be something liberal arts related too.
 
WA, I don't know if Buffy was ever really into poetry. I think her feined interest in the subject was more of an attempt to impress Owen. After all, she didn't even know who Emily Dickenson was, and she's a pretty well-known poet after all.

I can see Buffy taking an interest in English, though. Or possibly Phychology.

I agree about Willow and Tara: math or science for sure and nursing for Tara.
 
I always saw Tara as a very nurturing person. She genuinely cared for others welfare. Seems like a plausible career path for her, I think.
 
I always saw Buffy as a history or psychology major.

Basis for history idea: She seemed to really enjoy the lecture on Rasputin (figuring out he must have been something supernatural). I think if she could have learned what was okay to posit in class and what should totally not be said aloud then she might have been great at looking at historical events and tying them to her own supernatural world.

Psychology: Buffy enjoyed watching people and figuring out what they were going to do. This is also related to the supernatural side of things - remember how she could pick vampires out of crowds by looking at their mannerisms and clothes? Very cool talent.
 
I think she would major in Psychology too. She seemed to like Maggie Walsh's class. But if she was busy with slaying, I think she would study English language because she said things like "You don't have to read if you speak it, right?".

p.s. But she does look gorgeous in white gown. /me imagining Buffy in the morge. Buffy Calling, people!

Buffy and history. She loved it remember? I'm sure history would have a place in her future even if it was for more nightmares where you can only write your name in a test.
 
History? Psychology? For real people? Remember how she used to hate history in high school? I always thought she hated that, at least in high school it looked a lot like that! And with Psych I figured Maggie Walsh kinda ruined it for everyone. Which is a pity, I as a Psych student have to say.

Joan, the poetry incidence you are referring to was in the first season of Buffy, and seriously, who here can honestly claim they had a broad knowledge on poetry in early high school?
But, later when she drops out of college she mentions she likes these Japanese poems that sound like a sneeze...I figured that was her statement of admitting she liked poetry.

I can see Buffy majoring in finances or something and then going back to the Magic Box for another time loop experience 😀
 
Buffy is smart but she never took school particularly seriously, she's much closer to Xander then Willow as it comes to school. Where I went to school Psychology was definitely the 'I'm majoring in it because I don't know what I want to be when I grow up' major. That is exactly what Buffy would be... if she had stayed in school.


She has slacker Psych major written all over her.
 
She went to that art class with Tara in "Life Serial"
If not a dentist (which I was kinda totally serious about), I could see her in the arts. Art history, I think. She could do the same thing with artwords that she did with the whole Rasputin thing.
