Buffyverse stuff in non-Buffyverse places

last night the first song i heard on the radio was 'behind blue eyes' right after i just switched off watching buffy..... does that count?

i was watching these buffy music videos, and strangely enough, they all seemed to be filled with clips from btvs! thats legit, yeah? 😉

In science the other day we had a general knowledge quiz and one of the questions was: In the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy is played by Sarah who? I put down Sarah Michelle Gellar which we all know is the correct answer and the person who marked it said it was wrong. They said that it would be Sarah Sarah Michelle Gellar if my answer was right. I got really angry then and said that I used part of the question in my answer which I did. But they kept saying it was wrong and I was really close to punching the guy in the face. I didn't though cause I knew I would get in trouble if I did.

whoa... I know I'm a stickler for details myself, but to rate that answer as wrong is just IDIOTIC!

I'd have punched him.
Okay I dont know how nerdy this makes me, but yesterday I was watching Sex and the City with my roommates and I reckognized that the shirt Carrie is wearing in one scene in the s3 episode 'All or Nothing' is the shirt Buffy wears in 'No Place Like Home'. It looked better on Buffy 😛

that just needs karma, lots of karma :D
On Sunday band Łzy was playing on our town. And they had a song called: "Anka"( it's a form of name Anna, we say also Ania )

And the words of the song are like this:

I'm crying today the world is laughing: Ania what's wrong with you?
My heart is bleeding, my boyfriend hasn't come
I'm standing alone in white dress at the altar.

I was thinking of Anya when they were playing this song.

oh! that reminds me that on FRIENDS, phoebe wore the same shirt as willow did in 'wild at heart'.

Just came back from holiday and found these references;

On Mcfly's new album Radio:Active, one of the songs is called Going Through The Motions.
At a Horse sanctuary I visited, Quentin, Finn and Jesse were the names of 3 horses.
In a leaflet for animal rehoming centres 2 of the cats were called Harmony and Willow.
In Great Yarmouth there is a train that runs along the sea front and one of the stations is called Landau Station.

Really? I've been to Yarmouth loads of times and never seen that, unless it's new, i haven't been since like 2005...

I think it must be because I haven't seen it there before either.
im not positive about this one, because i cant find any clips or anything anywhere to check, or any info to confirm it, but i saw a first look at this show called samurai girl, and i could swear the music playing over the logo was rob duncan's score for the final fight, or something almost identical to it!

EDIT:

well, i did find someone else that agrees with me on this roswell board via google:

You know what is really strange about the preview of Samurai Girl? The classical music in the background after Brenden says "You are like 10 different kinds of stupid" is composed by Rob Duncan from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it was used in the finale of the show.

Arianne

I can't remember which show it was, but one of the characters came on screen with an outfit almost identical to Buffy's in "Graduation Day".

Anthony Stewart Head had a brief appearance in "Sweeney Todd" that I didn't know about, so that shocked me to no end.

In the movie "Can't Hardly Wait" I just kept seeing actors from the Buffyverse, same with "Bring it On"-- another big shocker!

And in the SAW 4 movie, in one of the first scenes they had a set that looked incredibly alike to some of the levels in "Buffy: Chaos Bleeds"...

Creepy!

i thought the EXACT same thing, i was like they just ripped buffy!
Here's one for you, i was watching Coupling last night, and one of the main characters went a date with a guy who owned a book shop that sold sci-fi, occult and horror books. The name of the shop? Hellmouths

oh yeah Oliver's shop lol good spot!
I was just watching that new show "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" and I think it was the Preacher who said that the one girl was their very own Buffy.

Well i went to Blackpool for a short break a few week ago and there was one of those Mystics in a little hut thing. She was called Mystic Peg (which i thought was funny but her name is Peggy apparently)... anyway there was a board hanging on one of the walls and it was almost a direct rip off of the 'As long as there have been vampires, there has been the slayer'. I can't remember exactly but it was something like 'As long has there has been life, there has been the Mystics. They are there to seek out and foretell the future, I am but one'.

Im not sure if that is relevant here but i found it quite funny.

i saw a trailer for a soap, i think it might have been 'one life to live', and they played nikki costa's 'everybody's got their something', from the radio sunnydale cd, during the trailer. if i can find the vid on youtube, ill post it.

Marti Noxon is an executive producer of Private Practice. I only know this because my mum watches it and I saw Marti's name come up as one of the executive producers.

In the film White Chicks, Marcus and his partner, are argueing over their dates and Marcus comes out with: "That doesn't mean I gotta go out with Buffy the white girl slayer!"

in the commercial for 'the middle man', and presumably the show (hehe), the main girl says something like "time to get my buffy on" as they fight vampire puppets 😛. in trying to find the exact quote, i did come across this article, which elaborates on a teensy bit of a buffy-like connection 🙂.

Lol, this reminded me of something completely unrelated, but I found it funny anyway. One time, my dad was in a pub and they had scheduled a psychic to come in and do readings, and they had a big sign advertising it on the wall. The psychic phoned up to say that they had to cancel, and since my dad knew the owner of the pub he was asked to put a notice up on the sign to let people know. What did he write? "Psychic Readings Canceled Due To Unforseen Circumstances"!

In the Sex and the City episode 'Sex and the Country', Big (Carries on and off boyfriend) is dating a movie star called Willow Summers. That gave me quite a laugh.
