did anybody catch this tonight? i was surprised that Al seemed to stay in the background. maybe as the show goes on, he'll grow more into our Al.
lol, it was funny when i was watching it, i kept thinking to myself 'i'll have to go online afterwards and see what Al really thinks of that guy Jonathan.' then it's like 'DUH! he's not here!!'

WHAT IT ALREADY AIRED??!!! It's not even tonight here yet. It's still daytime!!! Is there anywhere I can still watch it?
 
I think he was quiet cos he didnt have much of a chance to speak. Johnathan and Clare were talking too much for anyone to get a word in 😛

I missed the first 20 minutes. "Our Al" didn't say much, did he? I hope he doesn't sit there quietly obeying orders for the next three months and then comes onto this site and proceeds to complain about the loudmouth obnoxious Scot who loves to argue, because then I'll be like "shut it, fatty".

What happened with the liquid container? I missed that while I was participating in my own liquid moment.
 
yeah, like i said before, i was surprised at how quiet he was...he's always the first one in with his opinion here. i can't see him taking orders from the Scot for long...maybe it's just nerves and he'll wake up eventually.

oh, and the boxer dude broke the water thingie...he was saying something about wanting to open it to catch the rain water and then the bottom started leaking.

Al took orders from somebody? That wont last long.
 
the Scottish guy seems to think he's in charge. Al just sorta sat there and went 'yeah, that's a good idea. We can do that.'
i think it's the whole trip getting to him, he hasn't really settled there yet...at least i hope that's what it is. this whole submissive act is really freaking me out!! lol

where is this video (the first ep, i assume?)? is it on the net, or can you only see it live?
 
aww, how exciting for him (his hair is so shiny in his audition video! He looks a lot different than when I last saw him!). I hope he does come out of the background because God knows he has tons of personality. What is the format of this show? Do they all just live together for 3 months and then its over---or is it something like survivor? Good Luck AJ...it would be cool if this was aired in the states or online
 
I have watched pretty well every show of Survivor, Mrs. TT's fav show, and one thing I have noticed and heard from the competitors the way they are presented on the show is in the way they edit the footage.
So you never know Al may have been outspoken but the editors opted for the other people mentioned. Plus Al is a pretty clever guy and I wouldn't put it past him to 'fly below the radar' and wait for his moment.
I hope that the BBr's in the UK post regular summaries for us in North America?
 
don't worry, TT, i'll be on hand to update everyone. plus, there's the link i posted above. i don't know if they plan to update that, but you can check it out.
you make a fair point, though, TT. myabe they have edited it to show the Scottish guy more prominantly. i really can't see Al taking a back seat for long. i've known him almost three years now, and he's never neen able to hold his tongue fot long! lol
 
Before he left Al told me they did an interview at his home where he showed the camera Buffy-Boards and After Darkness...hope they show that on the show. 😉
 
ok, i'm watching tonights ep right now, 'cause i taped it, so i'll update.

currently, Al is coming out of his shell a little more.
in a to-camera thing, he literally begged for a notebook and pen so that he could write a fic about his fellow Castaways. it made me laugh, 'cause it's just SO Al.
he seems to have made friends with one of the girls. don't know her name, but she wears a green head scarf. she was braiding his hair in one scene, and when the crates with some of their stuff arrived, she gave him a HUGE hug. which i thought was sweet.

one thing i noticed, there was a girl, quite possibly the same one Al seems to have bonded with, was talking straight to camera and she had the words 'Mr. P.' written on her shoulder.
a message from Al? lol, if it's a tattoo or something, i didn't see it before!

i think it was during the scene where they were voting for the person they thought had contributed least. i rewound the tape to make sure i saw right! lol

i just noticed that the same girl also had another word on her arm in an earlier scene, 'cause i went back to see if i could spot anymore! lol, but all i could make out was that it started with 'M' anyone think this could be them? step up people! 😀
