"Easy. Kill Spike. Either in 'Crush' or 'Intervention'. He adds pretty much nothing to the rest of that season, he wouldn't have been missed, at least not by me"
You are blinded by your Bangel love. You are irrational. A hater of the first degree. You cannot appreciate such a good character he is. You are filled with hate and vengeance. Hater hater hater! You have been branded.

Yeah! Nothing good may come from a hardcore Bangel shipper, but we are sure that Lyri is Bangel? LOL

While I take it that this is in jest, considering the previous warning by brinkster130, it's inappropriate.

I completely forgot about Dracula. Honestly, I didn't rate him much either. An enjoyable episode overall, but Drac himself... meh. And the cheeseball ending was a little cringetastic for me.
They should have pulled a Smile Time on Buffy and had her face The Count from Sesame Street, discovering that he is in fact a legit vampire. Now that is a fight I'd like to see. 😛

As funny as it would be no. Buffy vs Dracula was a masterful episode with the exception of Dracula. The 'big honking castle' line, the 'oh look, my shoe' line.. Xander being a Reinfield. Buffy under the dark master's enthrall. It was a great episode. Fighting Sesame Street would not have been as good.

I cannot support her fighting The Count. Big Bird though could be a good battle. It had a size advantage and a big beak to peck her with.

I never said Xander didn't have to be real. After all Glory predated the written word or something, has medival knights after her yet is bound to a 30 year old person.

I guess that kind of works. But to me Xander works best as the 'normal guy' who hangs around with chicks with supernatural powers- it's a nice inversion of the 'damsel in distress' that you tend to get on most shows.

'Buffy, stay away from the giant pecker!' 😛

Wasn't that the plot of 'Doublemeat Palace'?

Anyway, I thought Buffy vs. Dracula was one of the better season openers, it's only in hindsight that the Buffy/Dracula fight was too joke-y a mistake.

I wouldnt really call it a pecker. It was more like a giant kielbasa

And you get the WTF moment at the end with Buffy meeting her sister for the first time.

Changing Buffy from an only child into an older sister / surrogate mother in an attempt to shortcut her maturing rather than showing us her maturing was really poor.

I read somewhere that Dawn and Connor were introduced just to attract more teen viewers, because the main cast were "getting old"...

I wasn't branded a hater though. Maybe I'm just not popular enough, lol. Story of my life.

Yeah, or maybe your name doesn't appear on so many posts trying to prove how despicable a character/person Spike is... even distorting his most pure actions or words. Sometimes, we all can see what the writers are saying through Spike, but the haters say "No! Spike is doing this, saying that, because he is selfish! Evil! Jerk!"

There is a difference between not like a character and to be a hater. I read somewhere that Spike was making all about himself when he said to Buffy that "all that mattered to him was that Dawn was OK". What a selfish bastard! How many mothers say exactly that about their children? "What matters to me is that my son/daughter is OK." This is the most common saying one can hear. But if is Spike saying that... That's the difference, IMO.

I do think he's despicable, but you're right, I don't try to manipulate anything to 'prove' that he's despicable, and I've never seen the poster all these remarks are directed towards do that either, and I've pretty much read everything they've posted. In fact, I think they're a lot kinder to Spike than some people I've seen posting on these boards.

I think it's legit to say get rid of Spike, Dawn, Connor, and whoever else you don't like. But, yeah - the strawmen and reducto ad absurdem can get annoying. However, the thing that amuses me is both Angel and Spike go through the same process at different times - and each side can be verry protective to the point of ridiculosity. Since this was primarily a Bangel board, Spike tends to be more of a target. But I really dislike the term hater.

Angel puppet vs the count

Gonna be watching Bufy S5 all the way through from next weekend so I'll see if my 'change one thing' remains the same. 🙂

btw. Many thanks to all my defenders. 😀

I'll play safe and try not to press any shipper buttons.

Get rid of Harmony and let Drusilla come to Sunnydale in the first/second episode for god's sake!

Think it maybe my least favourite besides Grave actually. The theme made sense given the direction of that season, but it just wasn't pulled off very well. I did like the ending though😛

Grave isn't a season opener though.
Wicked demon Tara instead of the boring human one.

(One that now that she has her trust, needs to drain Will's life to get her magic essence as she is the strongest witch and Tara needs it to fuel her transformation - she needs to break free of her curse that binds her to a mortal shell, else she'll die a miserable death in a few months, same as her mother.

Hopefully the change in her personality will also mean she'll have a better garderobe, no more granny clothes)

Or the key is evil.

Wardrobe in english - garderobe in French. But we see that as a medieval toilet (those of us who are history buffs like me). :D

Things are what they are, sometimes we have to say the ugly truth, sorry.

Really? 'Bargaining' one of my favourites, Seriously good. Season 6 had such a strong opening arc. 🙂

Yeah. I thought the theme of Buffy being suddenly returned to earth and having to re-adjust was very well handled but this two part episode just got a bit messy and silly, and those Biker demons were awful.
