Characters you'd love no matter WHAT they've done?

A couple of years ago I would've definitely said Willow and maybe some other characters, but that changed after some rewatches and closely inspecting some questionable actions of her.

Nowadays I'd just go with Buffy and Faith. They went through all sorts of shit. More than most, actually. They don't really have a choice on wether they want would like to have the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Also Tara. She can do no wrong. Simply impossible.

Apart from the Buffyverse I'd go with Abed Nadir and Troy Barnes from Community, Toph Beifong from Avatar and probably April Ludgate from Parks and Rec (kinda weird pick but idk, i just like her lol).

I skip the main characters like Buffy,Willow,Xander,Giles, Angel,Cordy,Tara vs vs vs because It would be boring

Ok.I know,He is evil but his energy and humour made me forgot everything

I did! I watched a good bit of it. Couldn't finish it though because the writers did Cole so dirty.

I mean, the guy tried to kill all of Sunnydale and turned into a big 90s CGI snake, but he was just so gosh darn polite about it! He’s just such a good guy, evil deeds aside, that I find it impossible not to love his character.
 
Definitely Faith. She has one of the best redemption arcs of the entire series.

Wesley. A part of me understands why he took baby Connor, and a part of me is still really annoyed with that plot, but his overall character development, even after all that, is really good. We see him go from this meek, scaredy cat Watcher to being a leader, holding his own, and even having a darker side.

Fred. She is so pure and likeable.

Xander. Enough said.

From other shows:
Sam Winchester. Give me a dark broody type any day.

Jack Kline. I loved his adorableness in Supernatural and the humor he brought back to the show in those last 3 seasons. Don't even care what he did to their mom because that whole plot line made no sense and was out of character anyways.

Landon Kirby. I know Legacies isn't the greatest show out there, but Landon is funny, sweet, thoughtful, and basically a big cinnamon roll, and I dislike how much the show seems to crap all over him getting any kind of happy ending.

Klaus Mikaelson. Always entertaining no matter what he did.

Ivar the Boneless in Vikings. Again, he was just so entertaining and made the show so much more enjoyable.

Both Nathan and Duke from Haven.

And most importantly, Stiles Stilinski from Teen Wolf. Also, Danny. That poor boy never getting to come back after season 3 was beyond ridiculous.

Oh, and as other people already mentioned, I too liked Cole in Charmed. He was one of the primary reasons I watched the show, and while I disliked how they dragged out some of his plotline at times, nothing was more exhausting than the on again, off again story between Piper and Leo.
 
While I still do believe that no character is beyond reproach there are characters that I love despite having done terrible things or characters that I love that the rest of the fandom seems to hate, here’s my list.

Faith Lehane, Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, Rupert Giles, Xander Harris, John Winchester, Dean Winchester, Klaus Mikaelson, Javier Pena, and Cole Turner.

What about Sam?
@Bop I have a harder time connecting to Sam’s character. I did like him (there were seasons that he was the better character or had the better arc) and forgave a lot the first half of the series but he grates my nerves during the Dabb years which sucks because Dabb was given some amazing three dimensional characters and made them all one note. I think Jensen had the acting skill to sell the bad writing and make me care about his character while Jared just kind of scoffed and twitched his jaw a lot.

Yeah I thought generally Dean was better in the early seasons and Sam was better in the later seasons. Jared in one scene in season 14 was amazing

I'll always hold Willow in the highest esteem. hell, even if she did end up destroying the world, I'd have probably said "good for her!". I'm super biased because her character means a lot to me. I think it's also maybe an Aly thing, I've loved her in every project I've seen her in and I don't think I could ever dislike a character of hers.
Ditto for Glory. girl just wanted to go home, I feel that.
I'm also a Kate, Lilah and Lindsey apologist. I think Kate's hostile reaction to Angel was perfectly justified.

with other shows, I could write an essay defending the majority of characters from Lost but especially Shannon and Ana Lucia. I will also forever maintain that Prue Halliwell from Charmed never did a damn thing wrong (and that the show was nothing without Shannen Doherty but that's another discussion).
 
Back in the 'verse, Gwen Raiden was great. Sure, she stole a lot of stuff but she got Angel's heart to beat. I would fear having her touch me but I'm not all that grounded, so I think it would be OK.
 
Taking into account everything we've seen the characters do on the shows, I can only see myself fully backing up Buffy and Tara on BtVS. As for AtS, I'd fully back up Angel, Cordy, Lorne, and Fred. 🙂
