I received a very nice email as well from the administrator, Phil, promising to get to the bottom of things, which I appreciate and was all I was really after, after all.

However, it is not bashing to tell the truth. Such as that the administrator/owner, Phil, was banned from here over a year and a half ago for stealing from this site. So he can't really claim ignorance or that he has never visited here. Yes, all Buffy forums are bound to have similarities. But there is a difference between similarity of ideas and repeatedly poaching ideas from another site. As well as a downright malicious and dirty use of meta-tags.

I am perfectly happy to move forward from this incident. I have not contacted Slay Alive since it was opened until now, and I don't intend to contact them again unless these attacks resume. Again, I ask all BB members to refrain from any negative posting on their site or in their chat. Retaliation is not necessary and wouldn't help anything anyway.

buffyesque, it's great that you have tried to find your own focus. I appreciate that this weekend you removed the forums that are like our School. But there are more than just one thing on that board that has been taken from ours. As you move forward, I hope that you continue to move towards ideas that are your own, even if they have been inspired elsewhere. And asking for permission and/or giving credit never hurts either.

Best of luck to you going forward, and again I very much appreciate your quick response to the problem at hand.

I wasn't there, but what I just figured out: We were attacked from the copycats from another board, who wasn't very nice. Right?

Anyway, it shoudldn't happen. Just the thought of that happening, and people being so stupid to do such a thing! If they are fans too, they should NOT do it! It's not good fanspirit. I mean, why would they do it? I...I am chocked.

Hi guys I'm a *********r and I just wanted to say that I feel for you. It's never fun to get into an ugly argument, wheter it be with your own board-members or "visiting" members.

Since the only info I got is from this thread and a small one in slay alive, I will not jump to conclusions or even bring out my theories, I'm just going to say that I hope that it was all a big misunderstanding from all sides, no cruelty intended. Also, after reading the quotes in this thread, from the chat, I'm happy that most posts in this thread are benevolent, even after the cavemen talk.

I hope you guys will have a happy holiday, and that if you stray to slay alive will atleast find the discussion-threads to be interesting and serious, although the chatbox can get pretty... weird. It took me ages to adjust to the talk in there, as I can see in the quotes here that some of you guys had a problem with.

I just wanted to drop by again to notify everyone here, who was offended by my members (ugh, embarrassed again)...that this is a heated topic over there, and it is being dealt with, on-going. Here is my post from there, which includes punishment details and my general thought on the issue:

Somethings. I really don't think the people involved in this -really- want me to post the full transcript. You guys do look foolish. The things Emmie has said are not wrong, and for the record: she has complete authority when I am gone. The same can be said for Wyndam, SlayerLV, Jsebold87, spikeluv13, and KingofCretins. The difference is that Emmie actually does it more often. So attacking her and cursing her karma levels is pretty lame. And yes, I can see that! Emmie is an amazing moderator/higher up and without her I would be completely lost. She has stepped her game up tenfold and really provided a ROCK for me to lean on. My other moderators all provide help in other ways, and even though you may not *see* them, they work behind the scenes moving threads, editing them, deleting them, welcoming and helping newbies and long-time forumers alike. That is why you have not seen SlayerLV, Jsebold87, spikeluv13 replaced! Wyndam has really grown into it as well, helping out where he can and being a real asset in our ideas and discussions in the mod board. They are all back-up that I need.

Someone mentioned the other board on here, and the mods there -did- ban the people involved in the trolling! So yes, they are banned from Buffy-Boards as well.

I just want to say that you guys hurt my feelings, personally by doing this. Like it *hurt* in a real way where my day was ruined, even when I logged off and left the computer. I felt sad, nervous, worried, and humiliated. But despite that I did not ban you from the forum. When I do have reason. We don't want to do that. You went in there, and you went in with this forum's name. Thus making yourselves ambassadors from us. And the conduct was not good! Acting immature and keeping a tally of it wasn't funny. Especially when you were simply asked to leave, and did not. Furthermore, after a mod booted you from the chat you came back in and mocked him! Those are the most despicable things that I saw, other than the language and hostility. And yes I saw that they threatened to ban you for mentioning *********. But you could have just ended it there, and you didn't! This forum was mentioned 15 more times after that. How is that okay? How am I supposed to rectify your actions to the online world? Buffy-World is alot bigger than we are. They have over 6,000 members and are the top search in Google. They get way more traffic than we do, and I assure you that random lurkers as well as their members and viewers are not gonna come here anymore after this. After creating my account there, I received a total of 10 messages (some PM some straight up email) from members there feeling sorry about it all, but informing me that they would never be interested in this forum since you are members here.

Buffy_Summers and I have buried the hatchet so to speak through email. I'm attempting to fix wrongs form the past. She has her opinions and she can do whatever she wants. But she informed me that bad-mouthing us will not happen on her forum. I appreciate that. I believe her, I trust her. And I promised that I would do the same here.

I really like you guys, I really do. But my opinions of you have changed from witnessing this, and trying to make others forgive your actions when you aren't even apologetic for it. I'm very sorry to have to say this next bit:

Either you accept this punishment and try to be positive to rectify yourselves, or...please leave the forum. Delete your account, and please do not return. I will not be banning you, I am asking that you do it yourself since I do not wish for you to leave. I would rather this situation be -fixed- with necessary apologies to both sides, and continued good behavior. But if you cannot comply with our terms, you should leave us.

Check your PM inbox for a formal message from me, decided upon by myself and the rest of my team. Believe me this ends here one way or another.

I feel that simply banning them should be one of my options, but also I am nervous that it will be retaliated somehow by either coming back here to wreak havoc, or continue somewhere else. There is only so much that I can do. So my mods and I agreed that it might be more beneficial to try to fix this, and use them as an example. At least keeping them there allows us to kind of control over what happens. Again, sorry about all this, and I was not sure about the meta tags thing. But when I went in and checked I saw that "buffy-boards" was one of our tags so I fixed it.

buffyesque, I truly am sorry for the bad blood between us. I do greatly appreciate the way you have handled this situation. And it is not our place to tell you how to reprimand your members - whatever punishment you decide on is between you and them. That you have spoken out against their actions is enough for me and I'm sure for the other members here.

Its over and done with. We've had apologies, I for one had never heard of ********* and I doubt I will ever go.

This continued correspondance does nothing more than make BB the victim and we shouldn't ever be made to feel that.

What happened was outrageous, but a line should be drawn under it.

I dont know; I for one found it alittle worse knowing that one of their MODS was actually one of those starting the ruckus. That seemed to really make the whole thing board vs board to me, whereas before I thought that it was more member vs member. A mod is a representative and emissary of the board, their actions reflect the board moreso than that of just a member to me.

Well, I wasn't there (which is a pity) but I did notice it put people off of chat the next day, for BBTV. So I am glad that it's over, and that we can all get back to some IRC fun in the future. There were a few people in when I popped in last night, and they mainly seem to have recovered unscathed. So lets put it behind us and get back to how it should be - fun!

That is what I thought but couldn't be certain as I haven't read all the posts here, I just wanted it to be clear particularly as there are ********* members posting here now and I think its time to get this topic over and done with, blaming MODS will only serve to exacerbate the situation especially seeing as they have been so positive and gracious in this whole pointless mess.

Scobro, I didn't mean to come off as being abrasive, I just wanted to clear it up.

Now, when I am the one being the voice of reason I think that means its time for the thread to be closed!!!
