Ok so we all know about Buffy empowering the girls with Slayer power with a voice over of how they get to choose. It then flips to montage of Girls getting powered up, who didn't get to choose š
Before that in Get it Done E15, a bunch of black men chain up Buffy and try to infect her with a black demon mist. Leaving aside the racist stereotypes in that scene, it's played as a rape metaphor. Now in E22 with Buffy basically doing the same thing minus the chains it's now an empowerment metaphor...
Anyone else have a slight issue with this. Could Joss have done the Empowerment trope a bit differently without the above issues being an issue at all ?
