Connor= Boy Slayer?

Sorry to have to disagree with you, Wolf (because we hardly ever do that, lol), but Teentitan is right.

Jasmine was one of the PtB, although one who had a very different idea on what was best for the human race than the others. She believed that we needed to be controlled to protect us from ourselves whilst the others all believed in free will above all else.

This is where we find out for certain what she was ...

JASMINE
Yes. In the beginning, before the time of man, great beings
walked the earth. Untold power emanated from all
quarters: the seeds of what would come to be known as
good and evil. But the shadows stretched and became
darkness and the malevolent among us grew stronger.
The earth became a demon realm. Those of us who had
the will to resist left this place but we remained ever
watchful.
GUNN
You're a Power That"¦ Was?
JASMINE
(smiles)
But then something new emerged from deep inside the
earth"” neither demon nor god.
WESLEY
Man.
JASMINE
(nods)
And it seemed, for a time, that through this new race, a
balance might be restored.
FRED
I guess we really let you down.
JASMINE
But you didn't. It was we who failed you. We became little
more than observers. I could no longer bear to just watch.
All the suffering"¦ I had to find a way back. But first, I
needed a miracle.

That was taken from Shiny Happy People. Basically she explains that she was once a PtB but she disapproved of the "watch and guide but don't directly interfere" policy that the others had agreed on. So she came back and ... well, you know the rest! 🙂

knew you could settle it 🙂 guess i havent paid enough attention. havent seen the season in a long time and didnt much like the whole jasmine thing.

well i guess im wrong (did say i could be 😛) i admit defeat 🙂

Hey, when you are discussing a show with all the depths and developments of Buffy and Angel it's way too easy to forget something, especially when it only got a brief mention. Besides, i didn't love the whole Jasmine thing either, lol 😉

I like the idea of him being connected to the PTB's, possibility forming there own type of slayer line? Cuz The Slayer line is not controlled by them they merely fight for the same side!

I have a brief question about children of Slayers, also. I read on a site that even if they don't inherit any powers, they like 'a good bit of revenge' (towards demons, vamps, etc.). So that makes them sort of like a vampire hunter, right? Like Robin Wood...

Well, it's hard to say with any certainty because the occurence of a slayer actually living long enough to even have a child is a very rare thing. In fact Nikki Wood is the only slayer we know of that did have a child, that being Robin, of course.

There seems to be no genetic inheritence of power though. Certainly not in the case of Robin, who gained all of his vampire slaying ability through normal means. Just a lot of hard work and training.

It remains to be seen if this would work any differently if Robin had been born a girl rather than a boy. Being male would pretty much prevent any possibility of Robin ever even being a potential, let alone a slayer, but if Nikki had given birth to a girl it might have been a different story altogether. We may never know.

Jasmine was a PTB. She said she saw what was happening and left. Made her way into the world through Cordelia birthing her. And Connor is strong, but Faith easily whompped him on Angel!!!

Come on now the Connor/Faith confrontation was to short to be classified as Connor being "whompped". Angel stopped the fight before it got more intense.

Wasn't that Faith herself that ended the fight? Regardless, i do agree that the fight was way too short to really determine whether Connor or Faith was the more powerful.

i dont even remember that fight. hmm i need to dig my videos out and watch that season again!

It happened during the initial hunt for Angelus. Connor overreacted and disobeyed Faith's instructions so she slapped him around a little to remind him who was in charge, lol! Gotta say, Faith had never looked cooler than in that scene!

oh yeah. i have vague recolections 🙂 definately need to find my videos. of find money to buy the dvd 🙂

No I was referring to when Connor/Faith threw down as Connor was about to stake Angelus while Willow was putting his soul back. Angel grabbed Connor from behind just as Connor was about to get serious with Faith, he had that sneer on his face that always indicated now I'm serious. It was the show where Faith was on the Brain Tour with Angelus reliving Angels life in America.

I think Connor and Faith found a match in each other (strenght-wise) though I do wonder what they would've been like as a couple.

Interesting idea, although i think Faith goes more for the older guy. I reckon Connor was a little young for her personal tastes! 😉

You could never tell by looking though! That guy has an eternal baby face. Gonna look like a teenager until he hits 40, lucky git! 😀

Even though there wasn't a long confrontation between Faith and Conor I thought that they tried to make it pretty obvious the two times that they got physical that Faith could have kicked his ass. My thought is that Conor has about the proportional strength of a vampire... and slayers are stronger than vamps. I know this is also never made explicit, but if you need a reference look at 'Sanctuary'... when Buffy hits Angel, he hits her back. He mentions afterwards that she is stronger than he is. Angel is not exactly a weakling as vamps go, so I'd tend to think that this means slayers in general are stronger.

Good point Caritas but I always got the impression that Connor was above a vampire because the only demon to "break" or really hurt him was the Rock demon and you have to believe there was some bad ass demons in Quortoth. Whenever I saw Connor fighting he always seemed to just fight with or just above his opponents skills. Fighting to him was like school to him. Learn first kill after you get everything from the lesson.
