So, this is an interesting phenomanon that is becoming ever more prevelant in our modern world- conspiracies.
Do you have a conspiracy that you believe in?
One that you laugh and poke fun at?
One that you hate?
I'll start with one I sort of/ kind of believe in- that Marilyn Munroe didn't commit suicide, she was actually murdered. (Or at the very least a victim of medical malpractice by the doctors treating her that was later hushed up):
-Her chosen method of suicide- an enema of barbiturates to poison herself- is totally and utterly bizarre. Although she was being given medical treatments in this way.
- The timeline surrounding her death is very murky. A maid who initially found the body said that Marilyn was alive for a long time before and after the ambulance arrived, but for some reason she was not immediately taken to hospital. By the time she did arrive she'd died.
- Motive. The last person that Marilyn spoke to before her death was President John F Kennedy, a few days before hand she had been talking to reporters about the prospect of a 'reveal all' about her relationship not only with the President but his brother Bobby.
The scandal may very well have ruined the dynasty (this was the early sixties remember) and is certainly solid motive for her being done away with.
- All reports state that Marilyn was not at all suicidal in the days leading up to her death.
However: Marilyn had a history of fake suidice attempts to gain publicity, perhaps this one, in preparation for the tell-all on her sleazy affair with the Kennedy brothers (who passed her back and forth like a party favour...) went terribly wrong and she died.
It's one that doesn't get much attention but it's more solid than most.
The one I hate? The whole 'fake moon landings' thing, because those who aspouse it know nothing about the science or the history/politics of the time or photography involved. Their ignorance is what's maddening.
