Convince Social Suicides, and thus others, to watch Dr Who

SOCIAL SUICIDE YOU HAVE TO WATCH DR WHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But dr who doesnt start until like july or so where I live 🙁 but come on...dr who is this close to being my fave tv show!

Catherine Tate is on it this season? I just switched on Jonathan Ross and David Tennant and Catherine Tate are on it. I don't watch Dr Who maybe I should start, I've always liked Catherine Tate.

I just watched that - blooming hilarious
Okay people, convince me :nibble6:

Please don't hit me for this, but I don't even know what the show is about ::huh1:: : erm : and if it's on TV over here or not.

OK, its about a timelord called the doctor who used to live on the planet Gallifrey but it got destroyed in the "Time War" a long way back. He's traveled around for years and he's always had a companion. The show started in 64 or so but it started again in 2005. In the 1st season of 2005 he found "Rose" he traveled through time & space with her and then the daleks, (the timelords enemy race) tried to take over the world, and the doctor "died" but actually he regenerated. he returned in season 2 with a new body. By the end of season 2, Rose was trapped in a parallel world and the doctor had to leave her. In season 3, he found martha (ew). at the end of season 3, martha left him. so theres a little sum up for you. The doctor travels in time and space, fighting aliens....etc etc. 😀

I would give you a gazillion points for being helpful BUT don't give too much away
I just spent the last hour watching the final ep of Torchwood, and the last 15 minutes of said Torchwood in floods of tears. Nothing can beat that. I will not replace John Barrowman with David Tenant, or Gareth-Lloyd Jones with Cathrine Tate!! No competition, sorry! 😀

I know she's a Drogyn, but if Mr P or any other MOD reads this, she deserves some House points for this, surely🙂

Trust me, you watch the first two seasons and then the end of season 2 with Rose and the Doctor and you'll think differently.

Imagine it like Spikes death in Chosen and Wesley's death in Angel.

You cried for both but you can't compare and you wouldn't want to.

Lyri, please tell me you have MSN - I really need to talk about THAT episode of Torchwood?!?!?!

end of S2 with Rose was too heartbreaking. I loved it and yet hate watching it

Ah...but that incredibly good emotional episode of Torchwood...poor Tosh! "...because you're breaking my heart"...was just a taster for what promises to be the bestest ever series of Doctor Who...especially if any of BotD's theories are right 🙂

Russell loves his spin offs and a spin off of a spin off would be incredible

Tosh and Owen - my favourite characters.

IDEAL senario for season 3(with ratings of this season, they'll have what they like) Captain John and Martha Jones becoming part of Torchwood🙂

Edit:

Mr. Pointy agrees: You read my mind...I got the feeling from watching Declassified that James would do it 🙂

Well he is trapped in this time now and I think he kind of needs it.

Though also, would love a Captain John travelling the world and trying to find a place in it, that would be cool.

I wouldn't bother, just get the boxset of the season that had Christopher Eccleston in it and watch that over and over again instead

I've always wanted to watch this show, don't know how I keep missing it. Thanks for the rundown Bangel, I had no idea what it was about, either. Altho, I did know he's a time traveller or something like that. And that Capt. Jack is hella hot according to a good friend of mine, LOL!

Jaw droppingly hott!! Too bad he's gay, lol! Capt John's pretty easy on the eyes, too! ;)
We can thank Joss, Buffy and Angel for the new Doctor Who and it's spin-off Torchwood, Russell T. Davies (the British Joss, head writer on both shows) had the Buffyverse in mind when writing both shows (i.e. similar tone, style, e.t.c.) and credited Buffy and Angel for being major inspirations.

LOL! Well, the friend that likes him is gay, too, so that works out well, except that I think Capt. Jack has a partner, doesn't he? Anyway, I think he's cute, but not all that, you know? He and I have very different taste in men, tho, he never agrees with the ones I think are hot!

Yup, he is married in fact🙁

John Barrowman is attractive but I have to say, I prefer Tennant.

Plus, did anyone see Fragments?
That was the worst case of hammy over acting I have seen in a TV show since I watched Dallas!

There's even a ripoff of the Hellmouth in one episode of Doctor Who
