Me? I am happy. I mean Buffy is over, they are not together. But there is hope. You can picture them in your mind because Buffy said do. Someday, maybe, they will have a future. What do you think, is that ever gonna happen? I know I do. Thank you Joss for this little piece of Bangel heaven.

How to make the Spuffies happy with the last episode? Bring Angel back, have Buffy send him back to LA (second front. Yeah, who but Angel would fall for THAT?) name Spike her Champion, and spend the night in his bed. I'll take that over cookie dough any day.

I absolutely love it when Angel looks back over his shoulder and says the last line. He has a little bit of the sexy cockiness he had in the first season of BtVS.

I think this is actually a scene that demonstrates how much they have grown, how they can be, and are, friends and how even though they have matured and developed apart, they've also done it together. Both of them knows exactly where the other one is at, in this moment. Angel fully respects what Buffy says here, he isn't taking it too seriously, and he isn't being miserable and broody about it. That tone of cocky humour in his voice, shows that like me and you PB, Angel knows Buffy will come back to him. And if Angel has confidence, then I sure as hell do. 😉 And I think the 'I ain't getting any older' shows that he will continue to wait for her, just like he always has been since he left for LA in the first place. He still loves her enough to let her reach her peak, and completely fulfil the person she is destined to be, and at the end of all that; he'll be there.

And WA, do I sense of a hint of not being able to accept that Buffy might still need, rely upon and love Angel, even after all those years? 😛

Wouldn't that make Angel and Buffy enemies again, like in Season 2? And, if the Shanshu is just so much hot air, we're back to that mortal/immortal thing again. Now, granted, given Buffy's, Angel's, AND Spike's activities as demon and vampire killers, any or all of them could be dead tomorrow before dawn, that still leaves us with the proverbial chance of the well known snow ball of ever having either a Bangel or Spuffy "happy ever after." Neither Angel nor Spike are getting any older, but Buffy most certainly is.

And although I agree with what you are saying, I didn't infer that from the way it was said by Angel. I think was meant to be more positive in that episode, which is expressed through tone and body language.

What can I say? I'm just an evil, hopes dashing old man.

But as I will have to agree that, according to the Divine And All Powerful Joss, Angel seems to have the inside track on Buffy's emotions. It just seems strange to me that he would make the two of them the exception to the Greatest Rule Of The Jossverse, which states that no couple remains permanent. The ones that came the closest were Willow and Tara and Xander and Anya, both of which ended with the death of one of the principals in each relationship.

But I made a promise to a lady recently, so just for her, just this once, GO BANGEL! Buffy & Angel 4ever!

Even though, technically, by Season 8, Willow and Kennedy have been together for at least two years, Xander/Cordelia, Buffy/Riley, Willow/Oz, even (dare I say it? Of course I do!) both Buffy/Angel and Buffy/Spike, didn't last much longer without the inevitable split up. Sure, in the case of Buffy and one or the other, or maybe even both, of her evil blood sucking fiend boyfriends, we can speculate on reunions and reconciliations until the ubervamps come home, but so far, in the real Buffy world, it just ain't happened.

The ultimate, definitive, inescapable point remains unchanged. Joss Whedon would rather take a severe beating than give us a permanent, "And they lived happily ever after" for anyone.

Seriously, I never thought for a minute that there was any truth to that "second front" thing. I believe that the real reason that Buffy sent Angel away is the same reason that you don't house two pit bulldogs together. Separately, both Spike and Angel were fighters with few equals. Together, they would be practically useless because they would both be trying to establish their dominance over the other instead of fighting the First Evil. Spike knew the layout, was familiar with what was going on, was at least known, if not trusted by the rest of the fighters in Sunnydale, and, of course, she loved Spike the most (Gotcha!)

Do you remember The Prom? When she cried on Willow's knee? So, Spike was a perfect gentelman? Maybe in the past life, but know.. she suffered with Angel and with Spike, but with Angel, it was kind of suffer when you know you will get something in return. Do you remember smile on her face when she kissed him? And tears in her eyes when she killed him? They had something special. I don't say she never loved Spike or something like that, but I can say she only kissed Angel with that much passion.. because that passion was mixed with strong love. You can say whatever you want, I can say whatever I want, but it will never change our opinions and beliefs 😉

Oh, come on, that's reaching! You know as well as I do that he isn't using the term 'girl' in a sense of age. It's just the turn of phrase he uses. For one, Buffy is eighteen at this point and not a girl anyway, and two, it's just plain weird!

Spike, able to accept her decisions? What about when she wanted to be left alone, and not hounded by him? He really couldn't accept all of her decisions or he wouldn't have followed around like a wounded puppy.

Angel made one decision for her, to leave and let her be the person she was going to become. Angel gave her just as much, actually more room to be that lady you speak of than Spike ever did, or could.

He didn't rape her, PrincessBuffy. He tried. She fought him off. He snapped out of it and felt so incredibly bad about it, he left town, went to Africa, endured torture, and got a soul. He tried to "make up for it" in any way he could.

It upsets me, to be honest, that the Number One argument against Spike is ALWAYS the attempted rape. I feel he's redeemed himself since then, don't you? If Buffy has forgiven him, gotten past it, why can't you? Why can't other fans?

Of course she had something special with Angel. None of us Spuffies deny that. We just believe she had someething special with Spike, too.

I don't know what the big deal is. He was 240 year old vampire, and she was 17 years old slayer? Hello! Vampire, slayer!? And we can talk about age diference with sense. You guys must be joking.

And ok he tried to rape her, he didn't. But if she was an ordinary girl you think she could stop him? And he got that soul for him. To proove himself he can be a better man. I can't belive she had something special with Spike, because I don't see it. I don't see love, everytime when you say Spuffy I think about how bad he made her feel. I don't see anything pretty and I'm not going to say I do, because I don't. For me that part of Buffy's life is a blank page.

This is what is bugging me. The use of the words "more", etc when talking about our perferred ships.

Flannen my friend, didn't we agree earlier that it's all ultimately up to interpretation and opinion? If this is the case, how could Angel have given her "more" room to be a "lady"? And more than Spike "ever could'? How could we even know that? We don't know what Spike and Buffy could have been if they'd been given the chance to make it work. He died, remember? And apparently she doesn't even know he's back from the dead.
