At least potatoes are cheap right? Better than burning lobster...

Poisoning people, you say? Maybe you are evil after all...
I lov your burnt crisps. The worse thing i ever burnt was spaghetti hoops, they were caked onto the bottom of the pan and thats only heating something up. :lmao: I've got a bit better.

I've destroyed pans making my own curry's... i dont follow or have any recipes of my own and i kinda just throw things in and see what works.

but i apparently make good cinder toffee... again just experimenting with my own amounts of ingredients.. who needs delia!

Notice, you didn't say it was an accident. You just poisoned them! Told you those parma violets were evil!

At the moment, I can't really think of a cooking disaster that I've had to be honest. But then I watch tons of cookery shows, so I do things without thinking I've learned how to do them. I suppose I'm just lucky!

it was her own fault for eating them ;)
Cooking is my greatest weakness. I'll avoid it as much as I can. I really am terrible at it, I can't even cook the most basic things. Take eggs for example. I like eggs but I every single time I try frying them something bad happens and I have to throw them away - literally every egg I've tried to make has went in the bin. But I'm stubborn - those eggs won't defeat ME!!

I wasn't the one that left it there, I swear! xD
Ha ha... thats funny. Bless you m'dear!
Well, im not really all that in tune with my cooking talents, they are hidden i can assure you, and so i tried to do a pizza, only one of those thats pre-made keep in mind, and so i thought... 'mmm, not much cheese', so i put loads of cheese on it and then when i went to get it out it wass all soggy and full of greasy fatty liquid. Horrid!!! Urgh!
I also burnt scrambled eggs once, and it had shell in it.
Really not that great at cooking! ha ha

I like spicy food. Problem is, my brother doesn't. After I promised that specific spicy food which I can't remebmer what it was, was not actually very hot... well, I almost killed him...

There were also bigger disasters cooking wise. Once I cooked something, and fire literally emerged from the pan and made a big hole.

Another one includes hot oil spilling on my feet while tyring to make fries. A doctor was also involved.

OHHH!!!!!! i love spicy food too, and its usually too hot for others... like my chili chocloate cake
death to eggs!

the cousin i poisoned was warned by her cousin but i kept saying how they were fine, i think it had something to do with the eggs actually, i had cooked them before they had even went in to be cooked so they were extra eggy... then my puppy dog eyes looked hurt when she wasnt impressed at firs t bite so to make me feel better she ate it all and then took and ate another one..

once in HMT (cooking in high school) me and a friend put lots of old raisens we had found in the classroom all over a friends pizza and she got off with it when we were questioned and as punishment my pizza got put in the bin... good thing really cause when we were making it we threw each others on the floor... we were only planning on giving it to some of the boys in the class.... hers still got made and shared out though... mwahahaha!

You're not exactly disproving my point here, you know!
When I first saw this thread, I thought, "Oh, I don't cook enough to have any serious disasters," then I remembered something that happened last year and I realized I've got you ALL beat!

Okay, so I have this popcorn making machine where you put in some canola oil then the popcorn. So I put everything in, then let it cook. After about ten minutes, only a few kernels had popped, so I got a little suspicious and decided to get rid of it (I actually almost ate the little bit that had popped, but I decided against it.) When I went in to make a new batch, I realized that before, instead of canola oil, I had used wood polish, and the container had a huge skull right on the front...I think my whole life flashed before my eyes when I noticed it.

You're not meant to keep the poisonous chemicals next to the food, hehe. ;)

holy cr*p!! glad you didn't eat that stuff *big hug*
okay not directly linked to food but you put food in it... i broke the lift at work that brings the food from th kitchens to the restraunt.... and it took way too much money to fix (i went on holiday when it got fixed and came back afterwards).... and someone else got the blame for it.... shhhh dont tell.... ive never told anyone that....

great idea putting that info on the net, then. I see paranoia is NOT among your craziness. LMAO
A few years back I went on holidays with my friend and her parents. We were staying in ths caravan/mobile home on Achill Island in County Mayo. There pretty wasn't anything there bar a beach, the abandoned Famine village and of course the pub🙂 So myself and my friend were in the caravan one night on our own and I decided to make popcorn in the microwave...I burnt it to cinders! There was thick black smoke filling up the caravan so much so that we had to open all the windows and doors all night...we froze our arses off!

Lizzierainbow cooked burgers and forgot about them in the microwave once and me and another friend had to go outside the house as i was nearly sick from the smell and she broke the microwave. and we couldn't get the fire alarm to stop

I will cook! It's one of the skills I'm prouder of, actually. I call myself a "feeder" because I love to cook and bake and hand the results out to everyone who will take some. Muffins, cookies, and brownies are my best products. I can't honestly think of a time when I've screwed up something; I've always kind of been a natural at it.

Maybe you should try to make some homemade crisps, then you can show me what they're supposed to look like lol

My worse would also include popcorn, the one you make yourself in a huge pot. ('cause I want much of it)

I was home alone and had just prepared everything and started the stove when the phone rang in my room. This was when I lived at my parents but I still had my own phone number.
Of course, I totally forgot about the popcorn while talking and when I got back to the kitchen it was all burned and the smell was terrible. I still wonder how I couldn't have notice it earlier while talking.

I had to have all windows open for days, luckily it was during the summer and the weather was great.
Also had enough days alone to get the smell out before my parents got back home lol
It took forever to clean the pot too. If it wasn't such a great popcorn pot I would have throwed it in the trash.

@Clem: That's one I haven't tried. Mostly cause I don't deep-fry. Though I've thought about cutting potatoes into wedges and baking them to make steak fries.
