Could Tara possibly live ?

Also I liked Tara but that episode where she makes demons invisible almost ruined her character.

I thought that part was very 'In character' myself.....She was quite new to the Scoobie gang at the time. Her family had been telling her she was a demon to frighten her into staying within the family. Now she suddenly finds herself mixed up in a group that actively kills Demons....& she panicked. I don't think she really thought through what she was doing, she just didn't want Buffy & the others to see what (she thought) she was.
Think this had a lot to do with her later worries about what reckless use of magic can lead to.

I don't think Tara was intending to hide ALL demons from view, just the "demonic" side of herself. I do agree though that this experience taught her to respect magic and its potential consequences which is why she got so annoyed about Willow using magic willy nilly without a care in the world.

It was a shot right through the heart, distinctly visible on-screen. We get the exposition from Osiris. Otherwise, he obviously had said something like "It is a human death, by human mea-wait, she isn't even dead, yet!"

As for karma and the blame-game on Willow's supposed complicity in Tara's death as a somehow mystical consequence of Buffy's oh so baddie bad bad resurrection. That's all in Willow's head because she was prone to coulda/woulda/shoulda sort of thinking in S07/S08 because self-loathing, self-blaming and self-flagellating is kind of Willow's thing.

The only consequence produced by the spell was the hitchhiker demon in After Life, maybe the dark magic going to Willow's head, and hey.. an alive, healthy and nicely complexed Buffy. We like Buffy. It's a good thing, right? However, the rest are all human emotions and Doylist poetical gambles for some faux!depth so literature analysts have some meat to work with. It's no material for reasonable Willow bashing. 😉

I analogize these sentiments of mystical alleged vague consequences as oppressing means to prevent someone from doing something (because it's scary, doesn't look nice, is counter-intuitive or just doesn't fit with certain dogmas), or prophecies for that matter, with religion in our real world. They don't withstand empiric thinking and reason, are zero supported by evidence, are fake, don't come true, are not set in stone anyway... free will and all. In short, it's bullshit. Warren killed Tara. Willow killed Warren (well, temporarily thanks to Amy). End of story.

Tara always seemed more cautious though. I get that she was supposed to be worried about her only friends (and girlfriend) leaving her. I find it surprising that she never tried to talk to anyone about it. Spike of all people had managed to get into the group and he'd started off trying to kill Buffy and still didn't have a soul. Plus she was knowingly endangering all those she loved because if she had become a demon as she believed she would have likely tried to munch on them. Whilst invisible no less.

Plus it brings up Spike's chip and how dumb it is.

Tara's death was devastating she was the only level headed character out of everyone so kind and forgiving, I wish they could of found a way to keep her character around...but I do understand it was necessary for willow's storyline.

I really wish that Willow had managed to bring Tara back to life, but she comes back...wrong. Not a zombie, but something really powerful and evil.

Don't think Amber would have been too happy about that. Didn't she baulk at playing 'The First' appearing as Tara to Willow in CWDP?

But there are still the comics where literally everything is possible. So, who knows.

Well they've brought back just about everybody else in the comics......so why not Tara as well?

There are two universally inescapable rules in the Buffyverse. 1)No two people can enjoy a happy relationship indefinitely. Something always screws it up, and 2) just because someone dies, it doesn't mean that we'll never see them again.

There's a pretty good chance that it's just a question of waiting long enough, and, quite likely, we'll see Tara return in some form or other. And there's an even better chance that if and when she does come back it will be at the worst possible moment.

Yeah, probably just when Willow finally settles into a happy, stable relationship with someone........

I'm 99% sure that Tara will come back in some point. I don't know how or why but she will. She's too important for Willow's development to be left out.

Oh, goddess. That would be so heartbreaking, but it's Joss we're talking about so it's a possibility.

Well they've already done it once with Oz coming back all in control of his 'Bad hair days' to find Willow happy with Tara.....so they've definitely got form where that's concerned!

I really, really want her to come back evil. The complete opposite of what she was. That would be brilliant.

OMG YES!! And Willow is now the one who has to do the calming her down thing.

And how could would Dark Tara be?

Dark Tara could be the essence of a very pissed off Glory...who somehow came back, and inhabited Tara's body to wreak revenge on Giles and the Scoobies. But this time, she doesn't care about shoes or bubble baths; she's just a wrathful god who wants EVERYONE dead. I'd really like to see Amber play the big bad here!

Just imagine, Willow finds some spell somewhere that allows her to bring Tara back, in human form, no zombie or demon of any kind. Everyone is thrilled, there are parties, there is talk of Willow and Tara being the first married couple in the gang. Things are finally looking up for someone in the Buffyverse. But...

Tara came back wrong, just like Buffy did in Season 6, only, instead of the "slight metaphysical sunburn" she has no soul. She is basically a vampire in a human body, able to walk in the sunlight, cast a reflection, eat normal food, have a heartbeat, age, everything. But without a soul, she has basically no moral compass, no way of differentiating right from wrong, and no sense of guilt or shame, and no desire to do so, even if she could. She is, basically, as much a monster as anything that Buffy has ever fought.

Take that situation and develop a story arc, or even an entire Season, around it.

Just imagine Tara being the big bag for a entire season, creating her own gand of baddies and bringing chaos wherever she goes. And the scoobies, especially Willow, dealing with someone they love being evil.

Buffy would probably be all "we all know what we have to do" but Willow is all "hell no. it has to be a way and i'll find it and if you guys are against me you better be stay away".

The Angelus arc would be nothing compared to this IMO.

That's the kind of scenerio I'd really like. Where Dark Tara doesn't even realise she's evil, and every vile thing that she does is done with a malevolent innocence. I could just see her ripping out someone's throat without any emotion...just a sweet smile and a "what's the big deal?" look on her face.
