Spoiler! Covers for BTVS S10 Issue #14

I find the main problems with the season so far are the 'we say this inaccurrate thing about the past and everybody acts like its true' dialogue/characterisation rubbish, there are so many 'we'll say it so we don't have to show it' moments that are just eye-rolling. These panels are just the latest examples- their so on-the-nose they read like fan-fic.

Also, back to the panels at hand- it's nice for Buffy to have Spike's feelings for her validated yet again without having to expound any real effort or trust (y'know, just like how adult relationships aren't).
Just wade around in all his memories so that he no longer has any secrets from you and so you can be totally sure/validated in his love for you. Another easy fix for a ship the writers are actively trying to make boring.
 
True, but it's still fun 😉

No, I'm sorry, honestly, I can't help it, I find season 10 entertaining. It reminds me of season 4 - new places, romances, personal issues, virtually no plot 90% of the time and I still love it. It's one of my favorite seasons so yeah, makes sense that I like this one too.

Good point, although I think that it's a much bigger issue than just fixing a ship. Basically, here's the question - to what extend does Willow's magic enable Buffy's immaturity? 'Cause this is not the first time when Will fixes Buffy's boyfriend. I know, intimate/personal and occult/apocalyptic are intertwined in Buffy's life and Willow naturally wants to help and that's OK but I don't know, it still bothers me, in season 9 especially. I mean, how is Buffy supposed to learn anything from her mistakes if they have no consequences? If Willow can just fix everything - Buffy's world, Buffy's weapon, Buffy's sister? You know what I mean?

And just so we're clear, I don't have a problem with Willow taking a walk in Spike's mind to help him, they're friends too and people are dying so whatever but Willow fixing Buffy's trust issue? That's wrong.

Pretty much agree here. They're rewriting the past in order to jump-cut to an easy fix. You watch the show, and post-soul, I don't know where you'd get that she doesn't trust Spike. In S7, she acknowledges he loved her even before the soul. So the whole 'omg, Spike loves me!' stuff is just...dumb. Right up there with Andrew realizing he's gay.

I like Spuffy and all it's dysfunction. There's a wide range of stories to tell just from their history. Yet that's all done away with so it can be dealt with externally when the spark of Spuffy was internal, not some MotW.

Also, @evil_uu, I liked S4, too. I wouldn't compare this to that. In S4 all that character stuff was done interspersed with the gang doing things like fighting evil. I'd like to see Buffy and Willow taking on something. It could be done in a one-shot, instead we get Spike and Xander pillow-fighting.

So far the only possibly interesting element I see is the idea of someone writing something in the book, but that's going nowhere. The inclusion of the panel of Spike with the book is peculiar, along with Spike saying soulless!Spike would have done it in a heartbeat. Which makes me wonder if the reason this is all so fanfic-y is because Spike did write something in it while dream-walking or whatever is going on there.

But more likely it's WYSIWYG.

Can a Big Bad even be an object?

I can just see it> In the final issue Buffy has a knock-down, drag-out fight with a book...😵

The Big Bads are the wishes. Someone, consciously or not, wrote something in the book. Something which could then repent, and this isn't certainly a new thing in the Buffyverse "be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it."
 
Oh please, every season had a big bad person. Even season 6's "life is the big bad" had Dark Willow for a decent smack down towards the end.
 
Maybe it's the magic itself or even the Seed? Poor thing has abandonment issues and...nah, this is too stupid!  
I mean, Willow gave birth to a new seed, right? That's the exact wording they used. So I'm thinking, if you can give a birth to something then that something is probably, at least at some level, alive and you are, again, at least at some level, it's mother, basically. Well, Will didn't act very maternal, I think, she just left the thing alone in a demon graveyard. Hence, abandonment issues. Makes sense, kinda. It's still stupid though because the seed is a glorified battery, a heart in the organism, a cork in the bottle. It doesn't, like, have actual feelings, does it?

Hey. Buffy and Angel metaphorically had a friggin universe that can walk and talk. This theory is as valid as any, I think.
