i actually probably am unique. i liked Buffy with Angel when she was with Angel. Then I liked Buffy with Spike when he came along. Buffy changed and grew and I believe that the relationships she had suited who she was. When we are very young, we tend to idealize... and even idolize. I think the person she became needed someone to fight at her side and Spike was willing to fight by her side and also to have a more adult relationship - and I don't mean the sexual aspects of it. Both later Buffy and Spuffy were complicated in ways that early Buffy and Bangel were not.
