Spoiler! Dander vs. Bander

I find Buffy/Xander more interesting in storytelling. They're a little different, which would make it a fun match. Xander/Dawn is a little too similar for my liking.

But Buffy never experienced being unnoticed, it is hard when you work with everybody and don't get appreciated or seen. Buffy will always be looked up to, everybody respects her and regards her with value. Xander, on the other hand, is always looked down on and always seen as a damsel in distress, someone who needs to be protected. It saddened me when I read plenty of comments when S8 first started about Xander not fitting to be Buffy's second in command -because he doesn't have powers.
 
This is tough. On one hand I love the Buffy and Xander friendship and I would hate for them to ruin it with romance. But Dawn/Xander, just doesn't feel right, I guess it's because Xander use to be her baby-sitter, you normally don't get together with your baby-sitter.

But if I really had to choose... I think I would have to choose Bander.

Then Buffy was trying to profess her feelings for him, most likely because every guy must be for her 🙄 but she could genuinely have feelings for him. I know there are many fans who like Buffy and Xander together but I think Dawn and Xander are better. They're sort've on the fringe of things, in a way.

I concur, I think the Dawn/Xander pairing is a bit strange and it made me frown at first, but ultimately I think it's really sweet. (and I really do object to Buffy/Xander, they're far better off as friends)
 
This is a major "neither" from me, but if I had to choose I would choose Dander. I want them to be one big platonically happy family. I can see where people like Dander.
 
I don't like Dander or Bander, but Dander wins over Bander.
If Buffy and Xander had gotten together I would quit the show, that would be one of the worst things that could happened IMO.
Xander, Buffy and Willow are supposed to be good friends.

Even though I voted Dander, if it had happened on the show instead of the comics, I think I would be majorly creeped out. The age difference in the actors combined with the way I think of them as a more brother/sister relationship would make it very very hard for me to support it. The thought of Nicolas Brenden as Xander kissing and more with Michelle Trachtenberg as Dawn is just too weird for me.

I'm already not a huge fan of it in the comics, but I can see its appeal in the comics if that makes any sense. I still haven't managed to 100% connect the two worlds of TV show and comics and I don't think I ever will. I don't like it, but I can see where other people could.

I like the idea of Buffy and Xander though, I think it's interesting. Hey I like that Buffy ends up falling for Xander. They've switched it around, it's cool. Now he can say, Sorry Buffy I just don't feel those feelings for you. and gets her back for what she did to him in high school, she was such a tease. And as if she couldn't tell that Xander was in love with her, What a blindo!!!

Although I actually 'get' Dander (especially after that ending scene in "Potential" it kind of reminds me of the novel "Little Women". The childhood guy friend is in love with Jo but she goes for some older broody guy and so the young platonic childhood friend guy marries her little sister. I just can't imagine getting with a guy who wanted my sister first (as awesome as my sister is 🙂 )

As far as it being gross they're only about five and a half years apart. It probably just seems weird since Nicholas and Michelle have a larger age gap.

I saw it coming once Xander told her she was beautiful in the second of her . . .transformations.

I kinda like that they did that too. Obviously a huge, literal, metaphor for her changing into an adult and making adult mistakes. That's why to me, Dawn is an adult now, and if she likes Xander and he likes her, then they should go for it. It's not like any of these people get to be happy for very long, they should take it while it lasts.

However, I don't think that I would like Buffy/Xander. I love their friendship and it would get ruined if they got together.
 
Dander. Any day. Buffy needs someone who can keep up, physically, and Xander needs someone who can love him fully.

Also, the fic is so much more amazing.
 
Is it wrong to prefer a ship just for its smooshy name? Cuz if so... I'm definitly a Dander... well that and going back and dating your brotherley guy friends when you are too old to blame it on being a teenage hormone bomb seems like a good way to find yourself with one less fella to lean on. To be honest Buffy needs all the non complicated friendly support she can get right now and seriously Dawn only got one vampy make-out and one voodoo jock to make up her total highschool dating experience.
