Dark Tara?

What if when Warren shot through the window, Willow had been standing where Tara was? Willow would have been killed instead of Tara, and the whole show would have been different from then on.
Do you think we would have gotten Dark Tara, or do you think Tara would have grieved Willow in a healthy way?
 
Tara always seemed less consumed by magic than Willow. I bet that she'd greive for her in a healthy way... But who knows? That's a scary notion, though...
 
I don't think Tara would've gone dark. Willow was allready on a dangerous road, if she hadn't been so involved in dark magic as she allready was willow too would probably chosen a different way.

It is a interesting thought this. I would've live to have seen how Tara's character evolved without willow (who could be very overpowering) and how the scoobies would've dealt. I'm glad it didn't happen though.

Tara would grieve in a normal way I think. But if she turned dark, I think she'd be consumed by magic quicker as she wouldn't be able to manage ALL that power.

Even though I was definitely not a Willow fan by the time Season 6 was coming to a close, I would have been so sad to see one of the core Scoobies killed. It would have been interesting, though- like you said- to see Tara's character development if Willow wasn't around.
 
Like everyone else here so far, I have trouble imagining Tara as going over to the dark side as an act of revenge. On the other hand, I think that it would have been completely in character for Tara to bargain with Osiris for Willow's life by offering her own in exchange. If that meant becoming evil, then I believe, under those circumstances, in order to bring Willow back, she would make the sacrifice as an act of love. Going evil simply in order to seek revenge just wasn't her style.
 
I don't think Tara would have gone dark. I think she would have collapsed and became sort of quiet, like Buffy was when she thought she had killed Dawn. 🙂 That she would have became sort of apathetic... 🙂
 
I think Dark Tara could have happened. That being said, I don't think Tara's path to the dark side would have been anything like Willows; and I don't see Tara trying to harm others.

I could see Tara becoming detached from the scoobies, distant from anyone or anything that reminded her of Willow, angry at the world; maybe surrounding herself with people who were complete opposites of Willow. Having lost all faith in the good of humanity and in love, I could see Tara becoming reckless. I imagine she would have been a bigger threat to herself than anyone else.

I don't think Tara would have gone dark, she was much more balanced than Willow even before the incident. She seemed to have more respect for the rules of magic and so I think her grieving would probably have presented itself in a different way.
 
Its fun to consider that route. Even with Tara not completly swallowed in Magic like Willow, it could have still happened. The whole last three episodes were such a twist/ride anyways, this could have happened.

I think it could have ended a dark season even darker this way. We could have had Willow dying a regular death after a downward spiral of a season for her. Tara, who just joined the Scoobies being destroyed by them (in my POV). If the season was to end with those two dead.. it would have been so Joss Whedon, haha. I think it would have been fun to see Amber Benson play such a darker role. The dark Willow was fun back in S3 but less so in S6, while Tara still have this huge innocence!
 
I don't think Tara would have gone off the deep end in the same way that Willow did. She didn't need the crutch of magic and hadn't had the issues with it that Willow did. I would like to think that she would have dedicated her life to magic in Willow's memory and become an amazing white witch. But then, I am biased 🙂
 
I don't think Tara was powerful enough to go Dark, the magicks would have consumed her if she'd have tried. It was always said that Willow had much more natural ability than tara.
 
No way would have tara gone dark, she was too much of a lovely human soul. I'm convinced she would have grieved the healthy way.

I think that would have been way to heartbreaking for the audience to watch and it would have changed the character too much for viewers to relate to her.
 
Like others have said, I don't think Tara would have gone dark, she would have grieved in a healthy way. If that were to really happen, then it would have caused a lot of angry fans (including me) because that would have been completely out of character for Tara.

People can say that what happened to Willow was completely out of character as well, but at least there was development there to make it believable.

I don't think she would go there in the way that Willow did. But, having said that I would have liked to have seen maybe an episode or 2 when Tara did go darker (not just a spell that goes wrong).
