Sarah Michelle Gellar quotes:

1. "I believe that Angel is her true love, and I believe she will never love anyone the way that she loves Angel. Will she fall in love again? Ya know, in her mind she thought she had fallen in love with Riley, even though it wasn't what it was supposed to be, but nothing will ever be Angel. And um, I'm hoping, at some point, they find their way back to each other. We'll have the Buffy Angel hour, we'll have two-hour episodes every week and I'll never go home at night, we'll go on forever."

2. "I think Buffy was greatly in love with Angel. It will always be Angel! Nothing in her life will ever compare to that..."

3. "... part of the reason Buffy worked was because of Angel..."

4. "She'll always miss Angel."

5. "They found a wonderful supercouple in Buffy and Angel."

6. re: if B/A didn't reunite: "I'd be terribly upset."

7. "David and I have a special relationship, and we are wonderful friends, both on and off screen. When we act as Angel and Buffy, we become the very essence our roles, helping us to convey the passion of our characters. Of all of the guys I've worked with, I have to say that David is definitely the best person I've ever had to work with romantically and is definitely a better kisser than many of the other leading males I've had to work with."

8. "Working with him was like putting on your oldest and most favorite pair of jeans, you just slip right into them."

9. "I think there are still a lot of Buffy and Angel stories to be told."

David Boreanaz Quotes:

1.
In the BtVS issue #10 David Boreanaz is being asked what made Angelus so deadly to Buffy and he says: "Angelus' biggest threat to Buffy was that he could hurt her more than anyone else. The way I see it, Angelus was as obsessed with Buffy as Angel was"”his feelings were just as personal and" it says he laughs here and then goes on to say. "Intense I guess He hated her so much because Angel loved her. He used that hatred to hurt her. He had Angel's face and body and the people we love can always hurt us the most. He shared Angel's memories so he knew just what to say to hurt Buffy the most and she had a hard time separating them"¦realizing Angelus wasn't Angel. No matter how much damage he did, she couldn't kill him and he took advantage of that." He then went on to say, "Sarah and Joss used to tell me I scared them when I was in "˜Angelus mode'."

2.
"I never did understand the whole Cordy/Angel thing... In my mind Angel's heart would have always stayed with Buffy!"

3.
In the BtVS mag dated 2003 David said coming back to Sunnydale was like coming home. I quote: "I love Sarah and filming those last two episodes with her was a blast...Even though I wish it could've been longer..but even getting me there was a chore. We're on different networks now so really the only reason it happened was cause the fans wanted it so badly. I thought it was perfect though, cause it left open the possibility for a happy ending for Buffy and Angel. The fans really seem to want that."

4.
In the BtVS mag issue # 6 David gives an interview for the magazine and in it he says, "For Angel, the love of his life is definitely Buffy. Angel's trying to be human again and Buffy brings that out in him."

"Since the shows have separated, both characters have grown and developed so much, that yeah...it would be hard, but the underlying love is still there. That's what would make the mix so interesting...who knows if it would work out, I don't, but I know it would be great for the audience if Angel and Buffy were to get back together."

5.
"She (meaning Buffy) was this bright light in his life that...goodness that he wanted to be a part of. She represented the hope that one day he'll be redeemed, maybe even forgiven. Buffy loved Angel unconditionally and I don't think he'd ever had that before." He then goes on to say: "Yeah, I think someday Angel could find that forgiveness, because basically he's trying now, but he still has to find himself first before he can expect redemption from anyone else."

6.
"Hell, while I was doing the show, I was still getting more letters asking me when Buffy and Angel were going to get back together than anything and this was years after our characters had separated, so what does that tell you?"

7.
"I think his confidence and growth in who he is today is Angel's biggest change, that and his idea of redemption... in the beginning his mission was all about Buffy. How could he help her, how could he love her and still stay away from her...it was all tied into one, but now I see him as a character that has his own identity ..,but he's still there... still the same guy he was in Sunnydale, but stronger. More independent."

"I don't know...I mean, hey, if Buffy stepped back into his life now... he'd be right there I imagine...yeah, he's changed since he left Sunnydale...and maybe he wouldn't be able to pick up the pieces of their relationship and make it work again, but he'd damned sure be there because he needs to believe...SHE was his whole reason for believing in something better to begin with, so I can't imagine he wouldn't believe in her now..."

8.
"Angel is a character with a lot of shadows. He's got a dark side and a good side. Buffy brought out the good in him. She made him want to be a better man, that's what I think was so special about them. I mean here you have a character that has so much darkness in him, but this one girl, who is so bright and alive...Because of her and his love for her he becomes a better man. That's amazing."

9.
"I always found the Angel/Cordy relationship a bit strange...I felt like Angel's heart is with Buffy and always would be. I think the Angel/Cordy relationship was just a mirror to what the Angel/Buffy relationship was to him! It worked, but it wasn't where his heart was."

10.
"It was great to work with Sarah again. We both knew that to put those two characters (Buffy & Angel) together again would be incredible, and it was. It was what the fans wanted too and we were excited to give them that!"

Sarah and David are great friends, and they did have a lot of chemistry on screen. Because of that they made such a beautiful couple, and most important they belived in them.

Sorry, but I don't hink David really said that about Cangel, but I love reading your posts!
Very interesting indeed. Thanks for posting these.

It's particularly interesting to me what he has to say about Angel and Cordelia...I'm a big fan of Cangel, so these comments are disheartening to me. In the end though, it's all up to personal opinion, I guess. I thought Angel was better with Cordelia.

In the end, I will always believe that Angel and Buffy had their time and it's over. What they had was powerful, but it's the past. Time to to move on.

I really like quote 8, too. Very well said, David. Nice words. 🙂 The guy kinda makes me like Bangel...and that's a big step for me!!!!

I agree completely.
Yeah, I also think it's all about personal opinion. But in one way this is for all Bangel fans around there, because we can see that Sarah and David, are cheering for them, and I think that is beautiful. I am a big SMG fan, I think I watched every interview and talk show and read everything, and I never heard her to talk about Riley or Spike like that. It is personal opinion, of course, but I'm glad that, Buffy herself, shares thoughts with me 🙂

I can see that. That must be really awesome to have the actors support the 'ship you follow so strongly.

I sure wish James and Sarah said that about Spuffy, I'll admit 🙂 I know that Sarah was really against Spuffy in general, especially their sexual scenes. I remember her saying somewhere that it was really out of character for Buffy regarding the balcony scene in 'Dead Things.'

I think that that was the whole point, though. Spike brought out the sheer passion in Buffy, something that no one else had ever been able to do. He gave her back the fire that she had lost.

Do you know what year these quotes are from? I'm curious if it was pre or post Spike...

Okay, I'm gonna sit in the corner now and cry ::crying2:

Agreed. So you liked Cangel, too?
First quote is before Spike, all of them are after, most of them are about Bangel renuion in the last episode.

And yeah Joan, I know Sarah was against Spuffy, she said that is not Buffy, but I think it's because she had so wonderful relathionship with David she belived in Bangel.

I remember I heard what Sarah said on a clip. Here it is. And I love how Sarah and Eliza looked at each other. 😀

It's never been any secret that both Sarah and David have believed that their characters should be together in the end, and even James and Charisma have said pretty much the same thing. Joss has said that Buffy will always love Angel, and Angel will always love Buffy. Those are facts that can not be denied.

However, the biggest and the most irrefutable truth of all is that Joss Whedon is a sadistic ba***rd who loves to torture and surprise his fans. The death of Tara is a prime example of that, as is, to lesser degrees, the circumstances leading up to Riley's departure from the series and the deaths of Jenny, Joyce, and Anya. Also, Joss is a businessman, and he knows full well that, as long as certain questions are not OFFICIALLY answered, primarily the Bangel/Spuffy question, he can keep the fans' interest piqued and keep them coming back for more. It's the Buffyverse version of "Who Shot J R?" (Please don't tell me that I'm the only one here old enough to remember that). Joss might give us a final, definite answer some day, as to just who it will be that Buffy will spend the rest of her life with, but I don't really expect that answer anytime soon. Until that time, I, for one, will continue to savor the debate and stand by my own personal opinions. And before anyone accuses me of just being a Spuffy advocate clinging to hope for my personal ship (I was, I am, and I do, but that's not my point), what I'm really saying is, the winning horse ain't crossed the finish line yet, and it wouldn't be the first if the long shot wings up in the winner's circle.

(Old Spuffies never die, they just write more fan fiction!)

Oh my god...YES. I completely agree.
I didn't made this thread to change someone opinion on Bangel 'ship, I have posted it because I found it nice and beautiful that they are so close and I think because of that Bangel is so powerful. I posted it because it's close to my heart, not to start another 'ship war.

While we are on the whole actors issues...I've heard rumors that Sarah and David were actually dating...I wonder if that did anything for their Bangel appreciation?

I believe that David was already married during his time on "Buffy," and while that doesn't rule out anything going on between him and Sarah, I think that it makes it less likely that it would have ever been made public. David's not Bill Clinton, after all. He has to exercise some discretion.

Yes but he and Ingrid split in 1999, and rumor has it that he and Sarah was dating then, during the season 2 of Buffy, but it lasted only for few months. He married Jamie in 2001.

What PrincessBuffy says is true, I believe. I too have heard that David and Sarah dated briefly during the filming of Season 2. They never admitted to it (tacky, better to leave the fans guessing - kinda like what Rob and Kristin are doing now), but I think this picture she posted speak volumes. Co-stars don't normally kiss each other in public. Just sayin'.

I imagine that did quite a bit for the show's publicity. Smart move.

Also, I believe Sarah met Freddie while on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer, which came out in 1997. So, I guess she dated David for a while but ultimately decided to pursue a relationship with Freddie. And the rest is history, as they say. 😉

So true. But I'm pretty sure he dated her in between his two marriages. I guess she was a rebound 😉

Are you seriously surprised I like Cangel? And here I thought my old nickname was a dead giveaway :p
Thanks for posting these. A lot of them I'd never heard before. It pretty much somes it up for the Bangel lovers out there! It is interesting that David and SMG both felt like their characters were meant to be. While, I'm also a big fan of Spuffy I have to say it is nice that they had such a love for Bangel AND that they loved working together so much as those characters.

It's great that SMG said David was the best kisser.....I always thought Spike and her kissed rather akwardly!! 🙂

I am really glad that both Sarah and David are BANGEL fans!I agree with what David says about Cangel...IMO Cordelia is more like a very good friend to Angel, someone who knows him very well and supports him, like the sister he once had...i just don't like them in a relationship but i believe that David and Charisma had hell of a chemistry!!!

I have heard that SMG didn't feel ok with the Spuffy scenes, and i know about the balcony scene...i have to agree with her...so out of Buffy's character...i have read somewhere that SMG was mad at the producers and was yelling that Buffy's true love is Angel...anyway what's done is done...i am also very happy that James also didn't feel ok with the Spuffy thing...that it was an unhealthy relationship

and about the David and Sarah dating thing...we can never know but i am a hopeless romantic and i like to believe they once did date...they seem to be also very good friends so dated or not that didn't spoil the relationship between them!i have read some magazine spots that said they were spotted during season 2 alone, talking, being more than friendly to each other.I find that very sweet!I know David was married but he was divorced in 1999 so he might had dated Sarah for a while.
