I think that's inevitable though. I think any actor would find it hard to play a character for so long and not end up imprinting on that character a bit.

Yes, and I'm not necessarily blaming him for it. I'd say it's up to the show's writers and directors to push back against that and make sure the character remains true to his core personality even as he grows and changes, and that any change should come across as organic. For example, I'd say his levity around baby Connor was believable because that's what happens when you have a child; you do turn into a dork. But the rest of his goofballing wasn't.

I think a lot is down to character development as well though, I couldn't see angel being the dark,myateriois, broody type all the way through, I think all the main characters probably added their own twists to the roles over time, probably just less noticeable lol

They reigned his goofiness back in by s4 of AtS. It was just s3. And I agree that is the producers’ and director’s fault for not coaching him back to Angel’s character nature.

But I’ve seen a little of Seal Team and Jason seems a little bit hardened with a haunted past, guilt etc. I think I’d be more likely to get into that character than Booth who seemed just like a big goof. @EarthLogic what is your roadblock with Jason’s character?

Oh I haven't seen the show, just the promos that are on TV right now so I make no judgements on his character. I'm not going to be watching anyway - army shows are really not my thing. I was just talking about the character's name at first glance. I keep thinking 'Pfft! He's not a 'Jason!' (also, the first thing that pops into my mind with that name is the Power Rangers, lol). But like I said, I got used to 'Seeley Booth' after a while so I suppose if I were to watch the show I'd come around to Jason too eventually.
