David Comments on His Affair/Marriage

You know, I didn't want to read this article, because it pissed me off so much when I first heard it and it made kind of a bitca, making comments about people I don't know(DB and his family), here on BB and in other places, wo are going through things I don't understand, because I don't know them at all. Then came the sexual harassment accusations and I was made very bitter. Not loving his characters either, thinking they're douchebags, but it's the bad husband/father and possibly pervo stuff that really pissed me off.

To sum up; I felt it best not to read. But I did it anyway.

And you know what? I'm glad to say I'm no longer one of the angry people making comments about a man I don't know. I have no idea why he cheated. Maybe he was just selfish. Maybe he was simply in a very bad place for whatever reason. Maybe they made up. Maybe they're putting up a show for the cameras, for their careers or children's sake(I hope it's not the later, because I'm pretty sure my parents did that and that made our home unhappy).

I have no idea, and I'm happy to say I don't really care as much anymore. However, I do want to point out that DBs answers seemed rehearsed and the image they picked for the article have them both looking kind of awkward.

I mean "In a sacred ground like marriage, you find yourself out of it at certain times for reasons unknown that can be destructive", really? Sounds too Dr. Phil like to be said in the moment.

I guess it translates to;

"I was uncertain in my marriage and for some dumb reason I decide to cheat"?

What? I said I wasn't angry anymore, doesn't mean I can't mock. 😉
 
Well personally, I think it's ridiculous. But I'm not David and I'm not Jamie. I'm not in their relationship and I can't judge. All I can say is I hope he never cheats again and her giving him a second chance was not just a dumb mistake. I hope he thinks of his children and says "what in the hell am I doing" next time that "demon" comes in and "kind of overtakes" him.

Regardless of who it is, regardless of when, where and why, cheating is always selfish and it's always wrong.

Selling a story about how it made your marriage better won't ease your guilt David!

(sorry if this offends any David fans, it's my personal opinion.)

I agree with all comments above. I was SO disappointed when I heard he had cheated, just because I adore the characters from Buffy (not necessarily DB as a person.) I hate to see any marriage fall apart, so I'm glad they are trying, especially with kids.
 
I kinda wish he would stop talking about it. His children are going to read all this junk one day. Seems like an extremely personal matter that would be best kept between the couple. But I guess any press is good press 🙄 :sigh:

I don't know, trying could be the wrong thing. I mean, maybe it's actually working, but if it's not, they're going to bring a lot of tension around the kids, that might not be there if they get a divorce. But like I said above, who knows.
 
I'm more of an Angel fan than a David fan but still read it. It sounds like someones wrote those answers for him as previously mentioned. Its a bit too cheesy to me. I also didn't realise he'd been married before.
 
I don't normally follow this sort of thing, but these things happen and it might actually set a better example to their children if they can work things out and move on. There's a lot of pressure on female celebrities (or women married to famous men) to dump their husbands and take them for every penny the minute they stray, and I'm not convinced that's a good example for society in general.

I actually disagree. It's out there, and if the kids read only that he cheated, not that he apologized and feel bad, that might be worse. I mean his oldest one probably doesn't have to read it. That's the worst part of all of this, that he hurt his kids, that his oldest might know already, or someone will tell him, maybe tease him about it, how his dad hurt his mom.

And it won't go away, not unless DBs fame does.
 
Luckily, I'm more of a fan of his work than I am of him as a person. Otherwise, I'd have to deal with the crushing disappointment of DB's actions.

But he already has publicly apologized for it, I just don't see the point in continuing to do so. It just keeps his mistakes in the spotlight longer; which I have a hard time seeing what good that does his wife and/or children.
 
I don't actually know anything about DB, and so when I started hearing all this stuff (and it was on some of the morning shows), I immediately changed the channel and refuse to learn anything about this guy. In my mind he is awesome, awesome as Angel, awesome as Booth, and I don't wanna think otherwise haha 🙁

Those comments were really lame. I used to not be sure if David was an jerk or not, but now I know he's an a#$hole! I mean c'mon...demons that take over? You're not Angel David, you don't get to use that excuse!

I hate his comments. I really do.

His affair has been "a bonding experience, in the long run."

I'm sure his wife is appreciative of the "bonding process." It's much better than counseling or a long vacation on some exotic island.

He sounds like a complete jerk.

To be honest, I saw it coming. 😛 But I'm glad they were able to work things out, although I personally have no tolerance for cheating.
