Dawn Yea? or Nay?

I liked Dawn in the last season but besides that no. If you think about she helped split up 3 relationships Buffy/riley, Willow/Tara and Xander/Anya. Buffy/Riley by telling Riley buffy didn't get worked up over him like she did with angel. Willow/Tara by telling Tara about the fight in OMWF. Xander/Anya by telling Anya Xander went missing.
I definitely agree with DDLM and epo: Dawn can't be blamed for those breakups! Buffy and Riley were not working out at all, and Dawn just made a small comment to Riley and he blew it out of proportion.

Tara would have eventually figured out that Willow was messing with her head, and she needed to know. Dawn just (once again) made an innocent comment.

And even if Anya hadn't of overheard Dawn saying that Xander left, I'm sure Anya would have figured it out eventually that he was gone. Dawn didn't make Xander leave or anything.

Lol.. and it's not like the actual problem was that Tara found out about the spell. The problem was obviously that Willow could even consider doing such a thing in the first place. That Tara found out about it was probably just good both for them as a couple and for Willow.

Oh no. Dawn was definitely not responsible for those breakups. Yes, she was present, but there have been many things that other characters have said and done around those relationships that could've been factors too.

Dawn was just simply an annoying teenager, as most teenagers are (sorry for anyone who is a teenager). People just have a low tolerance for adolescence, because they want to repress all their teenage memories! 🙂

Hehe, true. I think it might be especially easy to automatically dislike people of Dawn's age if you were there pretty recently (me being still a teenager although a bit older than Dawn).. You remember all of it but just want to forget at much as possible as soon as possible 😉
Maybe the reason I can actually like Dawn is 'cause I don't think I was ever anything like her in any way really.

Dawn for me brought humour into the show, as she was so typical-younger-sister, and she made Buffy come down a peg or two from her 'I'm so serious and important' attitude. The fact that the two of them could bicker immaturely made Buffy look a lot less special sometimes. One of my favourite scenes in Season Seven is where Dawn is having counselling from her own sister....
"Yeah. And she borrows my clothes without asking."

I always liked dawn too, well kinda because she reminded me of my brat of a little sister and because she wasn't annoying me it was quite funny ( not that way in real life tho) her annoyingness was amusing because in real life that is the way little sisters are.

hate her hate her hate her hate her (ok...so maybe 'hate' is a strong word)

but i seriously didnt like her...she was so ick and whiny...i mean sure, she played the younger sister...but come on, if you really grew up with the memories of being the slayer's sister, you would prob be a bit tougher than that...

I don't like her that much, I mean she basically was a surplus burden for the slayer.

I liked Dawn. She was a very good addition to the cast. Everyone was growing up and we needed a young face in the cast again. It's true that she was whiny but that kinda fit her character. At least she got to grow up a bit in season 7.

Are you still around? I love your perspective

Yeah, except you'd probably act immature to get more attention. And we've all seen how overprotective Buffy is about Dawn, no way would she ever let her get "tough."

yes dawn annoyed me at the start and season 5 was hell annoying but i started to like her even though at times she was painfully annoying and i hated her more making buffy die and not her.. i mean i know it wasnt dawns fault but i hated her for it and not until the first episode in season 6 i started to appreciate her character.
