What is the best experience of your life?

So far, what has been the most exciting/interesting/memorable experience of your entire existence? Try to think outside the box on this one (getting married for example doesnt have to be your best experience).

A sporting achievement?

A location?

A random spontaneous feeling?

What made you feel more alive than you have ever felt before? What made you change the way you think about things? Describe (in detail) something we all wish to experience.

Driving 3 1/2 hours down to Dallas to see Buffy: The Musical at midnight with my sister. Driving home at 2 in the morning: not so much fun.

The show itself was GREAT. Being able to experience the musical episode with an entire theater of people was awesome, and practically begging to get picked to go on stage (even though we didn't get picked) was fun too.

Night I got with my now BF: let's just say things got interesting....definately felt chemistry from the get go! Granted, I had "met" him before, but it had been probably 7 years since we'd met, and we were both still kinda kids back then (I was a kid, he was a teenager). Anywhoo, it was fun!

Most amazing night of my life: Last December 1st! Ok, you dragged it out of me (again). What happened you might ask? I met CHRISTIAN KANE! That's right! Here's the recap:
I get in my car that morning and head to school. When I turn my radio on, whom might happen to be on? That's right, CHRISTIAN KANE. He's talking to the local morning show about how he's gonna have a small concert at Toby Keith's restaurant, and then go to the movie theater (which is right next door) and they are going to have a private screening of the pilot for his new show leverage for him, his friends, and a few lucky fans that won tickets through the radio. Of course I call my sister, convince her to call in to work, and we go to the concert. It's amazing, he's perhaps a little drunk faced, and we have a ball. So, after waiting for about 15 minutes outside like crazy stalker people for autographs, I take my sister to work two blocks away because she HAS to go in for the last of her shift. And, again, crazy stalker lady I was that night, I decide to drive back over to the movies to see if I can get a photo with him if he just so happens to be out there. So I walk around the movies, don't see him, realize I'm being completely insane and head towards my car. And on my way, I happen to run into...you guessed it! He was very nice, took two pictures with me, and then this conversation commenced (more or less):
RA:Thank you so much I'm a huge fan blah blah blah
CK: Oh yeah! So hey, what are you doing now?
RA: Uhh.....
CK: You know, we're having this show over here. You wanna come in with us?
RA: Uhh...
CK:Are you busy?
RA: Uhh...NO!
CK: Well come on!
So we go in, and I get to sit one row behind and three seats to the left of him. I sit by one of his best friends and then his cousin who is also a country singer, and we talk about Angel, and my son, and watch the show (I LOVED IT!) and they had some questions for the fans there, and I got autographs! Amazing night!

I really gotta get those pictures on here though, if anyone cares to find the thread they are in there because I took pics of the pics with my camera phone, but they are all grainy and hard to see.

Those are my best nights ever!

I would add my son being born, but that night was really hell. The next day when I finally got to see and hold him was priceless though. He's amazing.

Yes piccys! Sound like you have had a few good times!
Hmm I had to think about this! First thing that came to mind was Leavers week. The time when we had all finished our exams and finished high school forever. All the stress of exams was over and last school thing that we had to do was our graduation which was a month or so later. Worrying about Uni was pushed to the back of our minds as we still had many months before we knew if we were going to be accepted and there was nothing we could do about it once the exams were over anyway.

My high school mates and I all headed up to Margaret River and camped out in the tourist park. The drive up (we came from Albany) was so much fun. We made mix tapes for the ride and had a little convoy of cars. We were so paranoid about the police road blocks that we had hidden all of our alcohol in various hidey holes in the cars (we were all 17). We put all the spirits into soft drink and powerade bottles and any that we could fit under the seats or where the spare tyres go, we put in the boot of Alex's car care and piled a heap of bras, g-strings, underwear and tampons over the top of them hoping it would deter the coppers from looking further. We didnt see a single police car on the road after all that!

We set up camp with 3 huge tents and started drinking almost as soon as we got there. It was a massive party every day and night for 10 days, meeting new people, hooking up and generally having a blast. We lived off 2 minute noodles, nachoes and food from the bakery (every morning we made the trek to town just for a pizza roll 😛). The police never came in cos we outnumbered them about 4 to 1 and there wasnt too much trouble, except for the first weekend when the toolies were around but they got booted after the second night. Every one was there to have a good time and the atmosphere was indescribable. After 4 days we had gone thru all ove our alcohol (and Im talking ALOT) so my dad and his wife came down for a road trip and brought us all tons more, plus we had this guy who was 18 that we called 'Alcoholic Adam' who brought us what we wanted when we could find the money.

We lounged around talking, singing, dancing and drinking, headed down to the beach to watch the surfers a few days. We even had a great debate with the red frog guys about the holy trinity. Its 10 days none of us will ever forget (well except for the bits that we were too drunk to remember). When we catch up now we still talk and laugh about it all. Im not sure if that really counts but I have never had so much fun since.

The second thing I thought of was my first ever gallop on a race horse. I was on a 2 year old filly called Carly and it was her second prep for racing (Im counting her first as the breakers run). It was her first gallop that prep and I had only been doing trackwork for a few weeks. When the trainer told me we were guna take them for a run I was pretty nervous but excited. The filly was a nice girl but still only a baby so she had her little shys and bucks occasionally. After our few laps of trot and canter Kate said we'd start the pace at the next corner. I was raring to go after settling while doing the slow work.

I got up off her back around the bend and got her going. Kate on the horse beside me kept pace with us, she yelled out to just let her go for it after a few strides and boy did she go! We were flying along faster than I had ever done on horseback. The wind in your face and the ache in my legs were nothing, it was amazing. I forgot to be nervous at all and just enjoyed it. I was laughing my head off when we came back down to the canter waiting for Kate to catch up. Then the filly decided that the different coloured sand was terrifying and stuck the breaks on, I kicked her forward and the young miss tried to buck me off! Usually I would be a little nervy about that but I was on such a high from the gallop, it didnt bother me. We did a nice trot lap to warm down but I was still smiling when we came back into the tie ups. It was so exhillirating and while I have done a fair few gallops since, I still remember the first time like I did it this morning.

Hmm I've written more than I intended to, sorry! Im not sure that you all "wish to experience" the things that count for me but I certainly learned to stop worrying so much and just enjoy the moment. I might need a reminder of that these days though. Thinking of the gallop gets my heart started and reminded me that my life is with horses, I couldnt imagine life without them.

I won't go into detail (so sue me) but for someone that never finds peace, stress out/worry about everything, never trusted anyone and basically just hating himself finally getting to a real comfortzone and just be relaxed and let all the worrying go away for a while is way more amazing than it sounds. I never thought I'd experience that.

ha thats a tricky question,
i have loads,
i was pretty happy when i met avril lavigne, and got to have a long conversation with her, when i was like 12,
ha

I haven't experienced much in life so far. But I think maybe going to Austria with my old class. It was the first time in my life I was outside of Denmark(Germany boarders just doesn't count), and when I woke up in the bus, and looked out...I'll never forget it. The mountains. So beautiful, covered with snow, and the size. they were so big, I've never even could have dreamed it. Standing there, looking at them, on the top of another mountain, seeing the clouds....It's like you're the smallest person in the world. It still takes my breath away

Mine is probably September 30th 2008. An amazing day out round Manchester at Hard Rock with my best friend and two friends then onto meet In Flames before the show which was incredible to talk to these people who have made my life that much better with there music. We were just talking like we were friends that haven't seen each other in a while and asking about tattoo's and how the tour was going so far. We were the first people allowed onto the floor and Sonic Syndicate were still doing sound check stuff and played a song for us all. The actual concert was just epic right up at the barrier. The rest of the night/early hours of the morning were also pretty amazing 😛

My best experience was last night - I had been feeling a bit unwell for a day and last night I got all bloaty and icky.
Anyway, I parked myself on El Boggo while watching The Office: An American Workplace and proceeded to have THE most epic of, umm, experiences!

I don't mind telling you, I felt awesome post poo!

wait...so you have a TV in your bathroom?
Wow, this thread's turning into a great place for a pick-me-up (within reason..Al), I love reading people being ridiculously happy

Silum agrees: wait...so you have a TV in your bathroom?

No, I have an en suite and with the door open I can see my TV!

I only use this when its an epic one!

How about this as a moment of happiness.

I had never swam in the sea/ocean before, the idea of it actually frightened me.
Well, while on Castaway, I swam over a mile in choppy waters, I swam to other islands AND I swam with Dolphins in the wild.

Then on top of that, I helped someone else who couldn't swim and she hugged me on the beach afterwards and said 'at times I nearly gave up because I was tired and scared, but you gave me the strength and courage to continue'.

Thats an awesome feeling!

For me it has to be the BBGB meeting in Birmingham. I still feel as if it were yesterday (and thus can't remember the year of this meeting...!)
I had the chance to meet several great members of these boards. It was also during this meeting that I watche Once More With Feeling for the first time!!

Yeah, if I could I would like to go back there...

Edit: After a quick search, I can say it was in 2006...

As requested, pictures! Again, sorry the quality sucks, one day I will actually scan the pics on here instead of it just being a picture of the real pictures taken with my camera phone

Yes you do. Because then I can photoshop MYSELF in, delete all your posts about it, and my delusion that it was ME will be complete. MWAHAHAHA! Wait..I mean, yeah, you should. *ahem*
For me its got to have been Easter break of this year. I got to do some things I never thought I'd ever do again. First I went up to Manchester with some friends to go to see The Rasmus at an instore signing and then went on to see them in concert. Afterwards I got to say hello to them by the tour bus and help make a few fans dreams come true. Then me and my friends decided to go on to Nottingham to see the guys before they headed home. Well that was even better, got see them in concert again and then afterwards I got to party with them all night, just us few fans and the band.

I felt pretty priviledged(sp?) to be able to do that with them and not feel like I was imposing and having them want to hang with us more than other fans. Another great thing was having the drummer Aki say he now recognises me as I've seen them that many times. Either way to say you've spent an entire night with your favourite band and feel like your all friends just having fun is one of the best memories to keep and to share it with your friends later on is even better. To this day it still makes me smile as random flashbacks of the night (including a hug from the lead singer Lauri aka my hubby) is truly lovely hehe.

From my 13 year old self's perspective, getting to see Nsync 7th row from the stage when they were at their most popular with their release of no strings attached. Lucking out and getting those seats was amazing especially with how fast their concerts were selling out. I still look back on it fondly. it was wonderful.

Also, the very first time my boyfriend told me he loved me. I've heard it in past relationships before but this...this was different. This was coming from the man i feel now is the person i was meant to find. It was giddy excitement and yet a feeling of peace and just perfectness at the same time. The way it happened was just so unplanned and spontaneous and beautiful... 🙂 Thinking about it brings me right back to that moment.

You got to see NSync live back in their glory days, you lucky thing!
OOooh errmm...well i hope that my best expirience in life is still to come..but if i had to chose something...it would probably be...gettting my exam results through the door last year..Six 1's and two 2's (one is top grade)..for the rest of the day i was singing round the house and doing my happy dance...no one ever gets to see my happy dance 😛

But it was amazing, i had all my friends phoning me and we talked about our results and i was sooo happy that all the revision i had done paid off!!

That's my best expirience...so far 😀

So far in my life, not many interesting or exciting things have happened to me; but if I had to put my finger on my best experience so far, it would probably be meeting Amber Benson (1. I know I've brought this up a lot, but hellooo, best experience? 😉 and 2. That'll probably change after Hallowhedon!). As I am immensely bored, I'll explain the day in as much detail as possible. Okay, so, Milton Keynes; didn't think it was too far away, and to begin with the journey was pretty fun. Since I was meeting Amber (And Mercedes, but I was a little too intimidated by her to find that as interesting) I decided to make my journey as Buffy-filled as possible; so I was listening to Once More, With Feeling songs and ready a Buffy book (Blackout, if you're wildly curious). After a while, it really was tiresome; but getting to Collectormania; I wasn't bothered. It was about one in the afternoon by this point, and since it was in a shopping mall, the place was already filled to bursting with shoppers and signing-goers a like (That part was quite a drag); and it actually took about half an hour to find the actual signing; but we got there and I swear the atmosphere was astounding. I seemed to be the only one emblazed with Buffy clothing, but there were fans of, like, everything sci-fi and fantasy...It was amazing. I swear, all I could hear was my heart beating as we were walking around the stalls trying to find where the celeb signings were...But we came to some people who worked there and they told us to wait in the queue, because Amber was at lunch but was due to be back any minute. So, we waited (This 'we' is myself and my Mum, by the way; forgot to mention that). Honestly, when people claim that celebrities are always late, it's not a lie...Amber and Mercedes did come about 20 minutes after they were due back...Oh God, I swear, just seeing them I practically fainted. I was at the front of the queue, and Amber smiled at me; and I swear that terrified me. A strange reaction, I know, but it was so surreal. I barely heard one of the Collectormania workers tell me I could go and get the photo I wanted signing, and I wouldn't have moved if my Mum hadn't pushed me towards him. I think both the people sat there thought I was a bit weird as my hand was shaking when I passed the money; and I could barely pronounce my name...Then I had to go forward to meet Amber and I think she could tell how shy I was; I was literally shaking. I said 'Hi' and 'Fine' when she asked me how I was, but otherwise I just blushed and stammered. We did manage to have a half-conversation though; my Mum was saying that I should talk and Amber started to tell us random stories about other cons; then asked me a few questions (To which I mostly nodded or shook my head!), but she seemed surprised when she asked where we were from and my Mum said we'd just had about a six hour bus ride; then she called my Mum cool (Ha, she never lets me forget that, everytime I tell her she'd uncool; she says Amber didn't think so. grr.). Then was a photo; I was really shy especially when she put her arm around me; I seriously wanted to scream 'Oh My God, Tara is touching me!' But, uhm, creepy and might make Amber seem like a peadophile, so I refrained! As soon as the photo had been taken, she asked me if I wanted a hug, and I just froze. I blushed really deeply, I know that I must have gone almost crimson (Maybe a bit of an overexaggeration) and she hugged me, and I was really happy. I was just clutching the autograph in my hands as I walked away, barely remembering to say bye. I then met Mercedes, and we walked around the shopping centre for an hour or so before we went back...Okay, by this time I'd bought loads of Buffy merchandise and I was completely out of cash...But I was really desperate to meet Amber again. I think my Mum knew by the look in my eyes that this wasn't just something I wanted on the spur of the moment; that I was really desperate to go back and not make a fool of myself this time. There was no one queuing so I got straight up and she remembered me! She said 'Hello, again' and actually remember my name 😀 We actually had a small conversation; lasted 5 or 10 minutes. I then became really quiet again and as Amber signed my second autograph, she wrote 'Don't be shy' on it. 🙂 (At some point, I think I'll post pictures of my signed photos 😀) That really brightened my day; and I spoke a little more, though admitted that I really didn't know what to talk about. I really can't remember what she said, but she used this word I'd never heard before; and both she and my Mum chuckled, and I just looked really blank. I think she felt really guilty, 'cause she told me it was a joke and hugged me again. 😛 And then...Oh wow, I swear I loved her for this, Mercedes was just stood by herself, and Amber went and asked her if she'd be in a picture with the both of us. We didn't (That included Amber, but she didn't seem to care 😛) think it was allowed, but Mercedes agreed anyway; and that's how the picture of me, Amber and Mercedes came about. XD I swear I didn't want to leave, but Collectormania was pretty much over, and everyone was leaving so I went. I was practically crying as I walked away, but as they left they said bye to me (Yay 😀) and as sad as it may sound, that's my best day so far. Hope I didn't bore you to death. 😉

Mine would be from about two years back. I was walking and seen a woman crossing the street. There was a van coming and she hadn't much time to make it across. Her bag fell, and without thinking she stopped to pick it up. The van was about to hit her, so I managed to grab her hand and pull her on to the side walk.
Was one of those moments I'll never forget. She just broke down in shock. Was crying, shaking, and then she just gave me the biggest hug, I've ever been given. And just kept saying thank you, over and over. It was surreal, just holding this crying stranger, for about five minutes. Like I knew her.
After a while, I took her to a nearby bench. Went back and picked up her bag, when the traffic was gone. It hadn't been damaged. We talked for a while. Then she took out a picture of her new daughter from her bag. I'll never forget that. Probably my proudest moment. I still see her around sometimes, and she always comes over to me. The best thing is when she is with her daughter. Things could have changed greatly for that girl, if i hadn't been there that day. Easily my best experience.

Hmmm...this is a tough one. I'd say one that's right up there is when I went to New Zealand. Had just finished uni and it was my first time travelling with complete strangers and I had an absolute ball.

If I had to narrow it down, specifically the time we spent in Queenstown. Because I went skydiving in one of the most beautiful places in the world. I fell out of a raft white water rafting which was so much scarier than jumping out of a plane. Somewhere in amongst all the activity and near death experiences I stood up for the guy who everyone had been picking on and I properly chat up a really cute guy which I had never done before....confidence building and moment seizing and such. It was just great.

What else? Last weekend's gig in Belfast. Because it was just soo much fun. 😀

I worked in Universal Studios Orlando, Florida for 3 months. It's kind of college student programme. I worked at E.T. Adventure ride. I met cool co-workers. I can walk in the ride area while customers go on the bike. 😛 I could go on every ride for free everyday. I was afraid of being on rollercoaster, but when I was on Mummy ride once, I'm addicted. 😀 I went on Mummy ride for 15 times in 3 months and also The Hulk ride.

After living in Orlando, I went to NY, DC and Verginia. The US trip is the first time I've been abroad and I can't believe I have seen Statue of Liberty, White house, Lincoln, Jefferson, etc. in my life. 🙂 Well, the only bad things is, my a** hurted for sitting 12 hours on plane.
