So far in my life, not many interesting or exciting things have happened to me; but if I had to put my finger on my best experience so far, it would probably be meeting Amber Benson (1. I know I've brought this up a lot, but hellooo, best experience? 😉 and 2. That'll probably change after Hallowhedon!). As I am immensely bored, I'll explain the day in as much detail as possible. Okay, so, Milton Keynes; didn't think it was too far away, and to begin with the journey was pretty fun. Since I was meeting Amber (And Mercedes, but I was a little too intimidated by her to find that as interesting) I decided to make my journey as Buffy-filled as possible; so I was listening to Once More, With Feeling songs and ready a Buffy book (Blackout, if you're wildly curious). After a while, it really was tiresome; but getting to Collectormania; I wasn't bothered. It was about one in the afternoon by this point, and since it was in a shopping mall, the place was already filled to bursting with shoppers and signing-goers a like (That part was quite a drag); and it actually took about half an hour to find the actual signing; but we got there and I swear the atmosphere was astounding. I seemed to be the only one emblazed with Buffy clothing, but there were fans of, like, everything sci-fi and fantasy...It was amazing. I swear, all I could hear was my heart beating as we were walking around the stalls trying to find where the celeb signings were...But we came to some people who worked there and they told us to wait in the queue, because Amber was at lunch but was due to be back any minute. So, we waited (This 'we' is myself and my Mum, by the way; forgot to mention that). Honestly, when people claim that celebrities are always late, it's not a lie...Amber and Mercedes did come about 20 minutes after they were due back...Oh God, I swear, just seeing them I practically fainted. I was at the front of the queue, and Amber smiled at me; and I swear that terrified me. A strange reaction, I know, but it was so surreal. I barely heard one of the Collectormania workers tell me I could go and get the photo I wanted signing, and I wouldn't have moved if my Mum hadn't pushed me towards him. I think both the people sat there thought I was a bit weird as my hand was shaking when I passed the money; and I could barely pronounce my name...Then I had to go forward to meet Amber and I think she could tell how shy I was; I was literally shaking. I said 'Hi' and 'Fine' when she asked me how I was, but otherwise I just blushed and stammered. We did manage to have a half-conversation though; my Mum was saying that I should talk and Amber started to tell us random stories about other cons; then asked me a few questions (To which I mostly nodded or shook my head!), but she seemed surprised when she asked where we were from and my Mum said we'd just had about a six hour bus ride; then she called my Mum cool (Ha, she never lets me forget that, everytime I tell her she'd uncool; she says Amber didn't think so. grr.). Then was a photo; I was really shy especially when she put her arm around me; I seriously wanted to scream 'Oh My God, Tara is touching me!' But, uhm, creepy and might make Amber seem like a peadophile, so I refrained! As soon as the photo had been taken, she asked me if I wanted a hug, and I just froze. I blushed really deeply, I know that I must have gone almost crimson (Maybe a bit of an overexaggeration) and she hugged me, and I was really happy. I was just clutching the autograph in my hands as I walked away, barely remembering to say bye. I then met Mercedes, and we walked around the shopping centre for an hour or so before we went back...Okay, by this time I'd bought loads of Buffy merchandise and I was completely out of cash...But I was really desperate to meet Amber again. I think my Mum knew by the look in my eyes that this wasn't just something I wanted on the spur of the moment; that I was really desperate to go back and not make a fool of myself this time. There was no one queuing so I got straight up and she remembered me! She said 'Hello, again' and actually remember my name 😀 We actually had a small conversation; lasted 5 or 10 minutes. I then became really quiet again and as Amber signed my second autograph, she wrote 'Don't be shy' on it. 🙂 (At some point, I think I'll post pictures of my signed photos 😀) That really brightened my day; and I spoke a little more, though admitted that I really didn't know what to talk about. I really can't remember what she said, but she used this word I'd never heard before; and both she and my Mum chuckled, and I just looked really blank. I think she felt really guilty, 'cause she told me it was a joke and hugged me again. 😛 And then...Oh wow, I swear I loved her for this, Mercedes was just stood by herself, and Amber went and asked her if she'd be in a picture with the both of us. We didn't (That included Amber, but she didn't seem to care 😛) think it was allowed, but Mercedes agreed anyway; and that's how the picture of me, Amber and Mercedes came about. XD I swear I didn't want to leave, but Collectormania was pretty much over, and everyone was leaving so I went. I was practically crying as I walked away, but as they left they said bye to me (Yay 😀) and as sad as it may sound, that's my best day so far. Hope I didn't bore you to death. 😉
