Did/do you like/d high school?

There were things I absolutely hated about high school, but there was some good.

The Good
-I worked very hard academically and it paid off. I sucked in Science though, but I never wanted to pursue that in college, so it didn't bother me.
-I had a great group of friends. I wasn't in the "popular" crowd, but I didn't care. I was happy with my group. It's funny because I was just talking about this with my best friend from high school and we realized we were like the "seers" or "watchers" at our high school. Like Xander, we saw and observed almost everything when people didn't think we were. 🙂
-Many of my teachers liked and respected me. I never sucked up to teachers, like a lot of people did (which never worked out for them).

The Bad
-My high school was VERY clicky and full of snobs. Some of the "popular' girls would talk to me in class, and I would think maybe they are nice, but outside the classroom...I was dead to them. They completely ignored me, although we had just chatted in class. Some of the "popular" guys did this too. I will never understand why people do this. It gets me really angry.
-I was the person some people, mainly the "popular" crowd, would ask for help, whether it be "What's the homework?" or "Can I copy the homework questions? I forgot to write them down." At first, I didn't mind it. But, when they constantly kept asking me for them, I knew they were now just being lazy. I was way too nice back then, so I just gave it to them.
-One of my best guy friends, who I had a major crush on, ended up asking another girl out and dated her for our final 2 years in high school. It didn't help when we still continued to hang out and I still had feelings for him, and I know he felt something for me too. I'm much like Willow in this situation, but I never acted on it, especially when he was in a relationship.
-I had a lot of personal things going on at home, which made me dread coming home sometimes.

I feel that high school was the best time yet the worst time for me.
I was very friendly had a lot of friends, got into trouble a lot but it was still fun. There were reasons for the trouble that would seem so ridiculous you would just laugh.

Then on the other hand it was miserable at times. I think it can be that way for a lot of people though. It was like I had these friends we had a blast but it never felt like those long lasting friendships and sometimes they made me feel like crap. We were all very wrong to each other. It was normal there was always gossiping and fights yet I had fun with them at times so I kept the friendships. Once I was home schooled I left it all looking back I think why did I do that or put up with that?

So at times I had a lot of fun then again it was so bad on the other hand. I do look back and smile at some moments. I can understand the metaphor of Buffy though. High school is kind of like survival of the fittest, in my school it was anyways.

I'm not sure if you can say I like high school. Not recently because my Dad kind of made it hell for awhile due to the pressure he was putting on me. See, the problem with high school for me is that I'm different and I don't actually have many friends or people that talk to me. I'm also not academically brilliant and prefer to daydream or write fanfiction during the day and the stuff that I do like doing, I'm either not good enough or am too shy to try.

The friends I do have are amazing and the time I do spend with them is good. But it's summer right now and thinking about going back to school fills me with dread. I'd rather stay where I am and dream about my online friends coming to save me.

Yeah, that all sounded really depressing.

I'm good at English and Drama. And I won the Speech contest two years in a row. That's my happier stuff.

Do I save you in your dreams? Because I'd totally save you IRL if I had the resources.

oooh same with the daydreaming thing
I have mixed emotions about high school, i hated the way some of the kids were to me (i wasn't popular lol) but at the same time life was so much simpler back then and i have a lot of fun memories of high school. I think i like high school more than i hated it though.

I'd have to say I had a hell of a good time in high school. I mean, growing up in Hawaii has its positives and negatives but overall....I have so many great memories from that time. I was the shy girl in high school but I still did my fair share of partyin and just having a great time being a teenager. Oh....how long ago. Geez! Ahhhhh!!! Now I gotta party like its 1999!!!!! LOL

I was utterly miserable in high school. I know this isn't a popular opinion with almost anyone, but dropping out is one of the best things I've ever done in my life. I'm 100 times happier than I've ever been, and unlike the general consensus of becoming a lowlife if you leave high school early, I've actually got a pretty good thing going for me when it comes to a "career." 🙂
