Being a Xander is no fun
Of course he did the right thing. He spent weeks on the prophecy and the Father Will Kill the Son is pretty explicit. His only mistake was not telling his friends. BUT watching the season 3 overviwe on the DVD made me realised that the others weren't helping him to talk to them.
Angel was acting REALLY weird lately so even I would not have told Angel.
Cordy was gone.
Gun and Fred were always together, in love and considering that Wes was in bad terms with Gun and uncomfortable with Fred, it's understandable that he didn't tell them.
So it leaves Lorne. He is the neutral one of the bunch. Of course he don't know him really well but they could have do something together to be sure(Lorne reading Angel or something....)
So... good decision but wasn't a perfect plan.
Anyway, it's not like Wes would have never talk to the gang ever if he would have succeded to take Angel away. That bitch Justine is the reason why it went wrong...
