Did Xander appreciate Spike and Angel?

But be honest, neither Angel nor Spike ever really tried to become friends with/for Xander. I can remember some scenes inwhich Xander helps them, but I don't remeber a scene inwhich one of the vampire tries to help Xander with his problems! They didn't made it so easily for Xander too! It's surely not only Xanders fault!

Honestly, I don't see why Angel wanted to spend time with them (Buffy, Xander and Willow) at all. They were kids. I don't mind that Xander and Angel didn't want to be friends, but at least they should respect each other and I don't think they did. In Angel's defense, Xander was very hostile and immature to him, so I understand why he wasn't able to muster any respect for him. Still, Angel should be the bigger person - and I believe he was more ften than not - because Xander was a teenager. Teenagers tend to be immature and impolite. I've supervised high school students during exams, God, they're juvenile! Not all of them of course, but the majority. I prefer dealing with elementary kids over them. Thank God I'm a fifth grade teacher. 🙂

Also, in Amends, Xander volunteers to help Giles and Buffy figure out why Angel is back. He never explains why he had this change of heart.
