Angel (David Boreanaz) tries to protect a woman (guest star Jenny Mollen) who's been bitten and transformed into a werewolf from evil restaurateurs who want to turn her into an exotic dish.

This thread for discussion of this episode after it has aired in the US.

Lazy Dolphin how is that what you think of the this episodE??

I thought it was pretty good, better then the last 2 episodes, had more action and loved seeing alot of Fred she has become my favorite Angel charecter now. I hated how they changed The Werewolf from what we saw on Buffy(even though Angel is its own show) that werewolf just looked kinda faker then the one on Buffy and you couldnt even do that much with the new one where as Oz wolfy kind you could do a whole lot more instead of just showing certain shots of it. Angel and blondes, I must admit its getting kinda old and shes a school girl on top of that... 9/10

Next episode looks well hot and intresting espically since alot of Spike fans are going to be going crazy seeing Spike naked minus seeing his private parts.

they changed it because it was a different species(race) of werewolf.....all people don't look the same, so why should all werewolves be expected to be the same....

Yeah - I guess I should probably elaborate a little more, eh Primal Slayer? 🙂

Okay - I thought 5.3 was a klunker. There were some nice bits here and there. I liked Fred pumping lead into the ski-mask guys. I liked the ending with everybody gathered in Angel's suite. But what the hell is up with recycling the plot from the Matthew Broderick/Marlon Brando movie The Freshman?!?!? I realize television cannabalizes movies for ideas all the time, but that was pretty blatant, and they didn't change enough of the details to make it feel even remotely fresh.

And was it just my tv, or was Lorne a much deeper green this week? He had a very JCrew hue.

The voiceing seemed to be off over here in Arizona. Don't know if it was that way it was everywhere, but that threw me off.

The epp overall all was pretty good. I was more interested in the side plot dealing with Spike than I was with the main story. I though that it ended great with the whole gang together, but Angel irritated me with his goofy ass expression while he thought about that werewolf chick. Didn't capture me all that well. I am totally excited about next weeks epp....partial nudity, so naughty!

Angel's quote at the end was the best, which I will refrain from quoting, because I cannot remember the exact wording.

i just keep starin at that girl's big nose! but n-e-wayz spike looks hot as usual

the ending was kinda sappy! withthe music playin! uggh but the ep was okay!

Lorne with a deepening tan...........a guest appearance by Dr. Phlox from Star Trek Enterprise.........a werewolf tartar..............just what in the blue hell was going on in that episode tonight??! Lol.

Still and all, not a bad eppie. Next weeks will be better.

I liked this episode. It wasn't one of the best and I don't think it was meant to be. I like that the AI group was doing their own thing that wasn't a W+H case. I think that was the point of this episode, especially with the ending, that they are still a group and that it's not ALL about W+H now.

Okay, Why are the writers and ppl making Spike look so stupid, and making it look like SPike couldn't be half the man--vampire--whatever, that Angel was! They are just as good fighting wise, and everythig else whise, but Ithink SPike is maybe even better than Angel...." angel killed the warewolf w/ a pen" I mean, fred doesn't have to be so mean! ANd omg, if they are a new love-interest, I will go balisitc.....! But the episode other than that was ok....

No, it's not just your tv. He's been like that all this season. I think they must have a new make-up team. Lorne's make up has definitely been redone - more pronounced, more defined, a LOT darker.

All in all, the episode was. Eh. But WOW!! The previews for next week's ep look REALLY GOOD!!!

I thought the episode was pretty good but nothing really special. I liked the first two better. I'm looking forward to next week when Spike will be front and center instead of an afterthought, which he seemed to be last night. And hopefully he won't be a ghost after that episode. The "Spike is a ghost " thing isn't working for me and I'll be glad to see it end. And I want more Harmony too. I wish she was the one who was going to be naked next week instead of Spike.

This would not have been the first time Angel went after a blond schoolgirl.

Why does werewolf girl look like a cross between Darla and Kate?

Also, no offense to the Spike-lovers, but I was releaved to see Spike's story be in the background this week. As much as I love the character and James, I don't want too many episodes to be Spike-centric, just like I wouldn't want the show to become Fred-centric or Wes-centric. Angel is the main character. And while it is interesting to see the other characters have their own episodes, the most are gonna go to Angel. And that's the way it should be.

The episode was alright. A change of pace. I'm still confused as to the previews for this episode. Led us to believe that this werewolf girl was a new love interest...but they showed none of that at all. It was a nice filler episode though, keeping us in suspense of Spikes dilemma. Sadly, I was also more interested in Spike's small story than the werewolf bit. And next weeks episode looks to be amazing. Looks so different from any Angel ep we've seen. I do hope that the trip to hell, will complete his cycle of a ghost...

Here are my thoughts on 5.3:

Uh...well, the promo for next week looked pretty cool.

My thoughts exactly!

"Unleashed" was exactly what was said previously: a filler episode. I personally did not think that it was very good. The werewolf looked like a cross between the beast in "Superstar" and the blue ape from the movie "Evolution" Very fake.

And yeah, the previews all made it out to be a romatic episode between Angel and this girl. Not one thing, except the 'she gave me a look' thing.

Where was Harmony? We need her. And finally... bringing up the point that Gunn may be a leak to the senior partners. That's what I've been thinking since they messed around with his brain. But who knows right?

And a question... when Spike was all see-through, walking around and Fred was folowing him, and then at the end when she's tells him she'lll work real hard to fix it, he comes back in sharper. Was hejust doing the see-through thing for attention, or did her words just make him happier and he became more solid. I was a little confused.

Next weeks ep: I'm a little afraid to watch it! Don't want nightmares!! 🙂

This was an okay episode, but mainly because of the talk Spike and Fred have, their interaction together has been interesting, I like that Fred is helping him... I can't wait til next week, though, it looks hella good.
