Discussion of 5.03 "Unleashed" - Airdate 10/15/03

Not only was I disturbed by Angel's willingness to allow that scientist to be kept as the next meal, but by the attitude of the others. None of the Fang Gang seemed concerned by the scientist's fate. And the odd thing is that the only reason he was part of that scheme in the first was due to his fear of Crane - the real villain. One way of embracing evil, is to lose one's ability for mercy. After what happened with Hauser and the scientist, I'm afraid that Angel and the others have already taken this first step.

This is a good point! Angel has exhibited this behavior before, when he locked the W&H gang in the celler with Dru and Darla. His team were pretty astounded and horrified with it, but this time they didn't even bat an eye. Could this be the effects of working at W&H slowly taking place?

Spike and Angel--they *have* to be at odds, I think the show's success depends on it. I'm usually all for everybody getting along, but these two just play off of each other really well. I actually think that Spike should always be portray as morally ambiguous--being willing to do what benefits hit most. He has a history of doing that; helping Buffy at the end of season two, helping the scoobs in season 4; the episode where he was breeding and selling eggs in season 6...face it, Spike's an opportunist...and he's more interesting that way.
 
But remember, you saw the last of Angels mercy in the first episode. That scientist betrayed W&H, and lied to Angel. Once he was bitten, Angel knew there was nothing he could do. So he thought, well he will get what he deserves.

I'd rather see him with these lines than hear him just whining about his soul...

Exactly when did Spike whine about his soul?
 
I was like totally confuzzed here, cause I downloaded it and it was really dark so when Angel went to fight the wherewolf at the start I didnt know what it was til later in the ep!

yea and I saw the preview on thewb.com and they made it out as if it was a big ep centric around Angel falling for some blonde chick! No fair! Hate when the do that! He he it seems like Alot of people here are talking about next week rather than this week!

Anyway I found that episode pritty boring (no offence) but they could have put more excitement in it. well thats all I gotta say for now!
