Spike (James Marsters) struggles to maintain his weak grip on reality as spectral forces threaten to send him to hell. He encounters ghostly apparitions, including an eighteenth-century serial-killer doctor. Meanwhile, Fred (Amy Acker) continues her quest to find a way of restoring Spike to his corporeal self.

Omg!I just watched "hellBound" and I loved it! It was soooo great! There was just one thing I HATED SOOOO MUCH! The chance of a Fred/Spike ship...lets see, what would it be called, Spread? But other than that, a good episode, for sure!
_______
Oh, and next weeks episode looks soooo fun, and funny.

" 'ey look! Angel's getting some! Right on you, mate!"-Spike

LOL

Well, he's still a ghost. Hmm...not sure how I feel about that. Oh, wait...I am sure how I feel about that: CRAP!

Not a bad episode. Not as jaw-droppingly stellar as the trailers had me hoping it would be, but pretty good.

THE GOOD:
"¢I enjoyed Fred's little "Oh please" talk about her falling for Spike. I liked the fact that they both addressed that whole issue and had her dismiss it.
"¢I was much more into Eve this episode - she could be a fun character.

THE BAD:
"¢I wish someone would kill off poor Lorne, I love him but he's pretty much outlived his usefulness.
"¢Need more Wesley!!! Poor Wes *hasn't* outlived his usefulness, give the man some screen time already!
"¢This whole ghost thing is getting very tired. I was really expecting (and looking forward) to seeing Spike un-ghostied tonight. Just give him a jolt with a patented Wolfram & Hart Corporealizing Tazer already!

this was the best episode yet lol NAKED SPIKE i mean *Cough Cough* great storyline plus i loved the connection between Spike/Fred.... although i am really mad about Spike still being a ghosty.... Hopefully by the end of the season he'll be normal agian...

I liked this episode a lot. It was pretty intense. It wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be, but I tend not to scare easily. I was so glad Spike wasn't pulled into hell, but I was really hoping he wouldn't be a ghosty anymore after this episode. I did like, however, how the showed that Spike was "worth saving" to some of the skeptics (like Angel) when he sacrificed his wish to become corporeal again to save Fred.

I agree with LazyDolphin that we need to see more Wesley. I don't think they need to kill Lorne, at least not yet. Next week's episode looks really funny. Can't wait!

Really liked this ep. IMO, the best of the season so far. Steven DeKnight knows what he's doing. It was creepy, well acted, well directed, and the characters were written better than they have been this season. I was on the edge-of-my-seat all ep. I loved the scene w/ Spike and Angel, and Angel says he liked Spike's poems. We need more Wesley, but at least we'll see more Lorne next week. Overall, a big step up from "Unleashed." If the rest of the season goes this well, I'll be a very happy Angel fan.

I don't think there's going to be Spred or Frike or Spikred just yet.
The images weren't really disturbing. They were a bit creepy, though. Next week is the Halloween ep!

BTW, how do fans decide the words for relationships? Why Bangel and not Angy or Bugel or Anffy? Why Spuffy and not Suffy or Bike or Buffike?

i know rayne loved this one...

this episode was the illest

it was weird and smart and graphic...and hella cool...

i think spike and fred are great together....they compliment eachother well...

what was that liquid in the jar...the power from the panther...was it like cat pee...lol

i also liked that scene with spike and angel having a normal conversation....i think tv shows fail to realize the power of just ordinary moments in stories...they're hella powerful...

lol...the next episode will be the greatest episode ever...All I have to say is that Angel....is the bam....

I loved this episode, best so far of this season, maybe even of the show. Spike is such a great addition, but where was Harmony? ... And what's the name of that green guy again, the one with the hornes?

The cutting of fingers was a little gruesome, but nothing I can't handle, but the nudity was a dissapointment, I would have at least expected to see his behind in full glory, I mean, we didn't see anything we wouldn't see, if he went swimming.

Looking forward to the rest of this season, if it continues this way, it's gonna out-do, all it's previous seasons, aswell as all Buffy seasons.

lmao, Angel is the bam.. That's a good one
and yeah this episode was good. I liked that whole Gun can't shut off the lawyer talk thing, that could be funny later.
I like Lorn, but they way they are showing him is making me agree with Lazy Dolphin, BUT the next ep is suppose to have a lot of lorn in it so I might change my mind, i hope...
And anyone else notice that Angel is MAJOR bitchy when it comes to Spike.. no one seemed to care (except Fred) that Spike would go to hell. He does have a soul! So Angel should be saved but not Spike cause Angel says so?? He was all let's forgive Faith but if it comes to his ex's latest guy pal he is all let him die. Little jealous much?
anyways I am looking forward to Spike getting all physical again so he can get with the fighting.

mos def agree faithy....Angel and Spike mos def got some history...i think its good though...shows that the gang is dynamic instead of static...keeps things fresh...

man...spike is going to be quite the fighter....able to deal out damage but to never receive it....nuts...

i know...lorne needs to get an episode of his own...cause right now he isn't even making a difference in the major plot line...even Wesley for that matter...i hope they don't forget these guys...

It was a good episode, I liked it better then the last 3.

Angel and Spike go far more back then Angel/Faith do.

Their needed to be more Lorne in this episode, but I think he will be in alot of the next episode.

yeah really, I always liked Lorn as comic relief, and he makes Wes seem much less gay... I am hoping they make up for his absence so far with the Halloween ep.
And why is Fred so cold to Wes? I figured they would hook up this season now that her and Gun are over. Her and Gun don't even have chemistry anymore, it's not even awkward for them, more sparks fly with her and Spike, lol.
As for the Spike/Angel static, I think it's cool, it makes it edgy, but what's up with Wes and Gun? They really don't have history with Spike so why do they act all snob about him going to hell? And omg the part where Gun says Spike haunts him in the bathroom and makes fun of his... cough *parts* was funny as hell..
Spike is definitely putting the spice back in Angel..

Magui, are you encouraging Spike/Fred?
_
I am also mad about Eve/Angel...that seems wierd

Lorne is my man! He can't die! I got enough of a shock at the end of Season Two when his head wound up on a platter!!

Love the episode, great humor, great horror, nice and creepy!

Did anyone else notice an inkling of Cordelia in Fred tonight? Just at the beginning, some of friends lines really reminded me of season 3 Cordelia.

I agree, Wes needs to play a larger role than just getting books for Fred. 🙁

I really enjoyed this episode. I mean REALLY! The writing, the acting and the pacing were fabulous. Not only was James Marsters back in great form, but the rest of the cast was top-notch as well. Especially Amy Ackers. She and James were . . . whoa! Hot! There were a lot of great interactions in this episode - Spike and Fred, Angel and Spike, Wes and Gunn (it was nice to see these two creating sparks, again), and even Angel and Eve (hmmmm, such interesting possibilities).

Poor Angel and Spike. Are they both really destined for hell, despite all of the good they have done over the past few years? Is redemption really that hopeless, because of their past? I would hate to think so. At least neither of them would use other non-corporeal bodies to prevent themselves from going to hell - like Dr. Death. The latter was not only scary, but a hypocrite as well. Speaking of the actor who played the good doctor, I recognized him as a recurring character from the last season of "Just Shoot Me". He also played Death in an episode of "Charmed".

I hope that next week's episode proves to be just as good.

Now I'll be honest, the episode wasn't all that I had hoped it would be. But it was still good. The end was when it really cooked up. When Spike was able to actually start beating the living crap out of Reaper. Although my hopes and dreams (as I'm sure everyone elses) were surely smashed when Spike was forced to choose between saving Fred, and becoming corporeal again... I knew what he was going to choose, but just didn't want to believe it. Then the ending turned even more depressing while Spike and Fred were talking, and Spike mentions that he doesn't mind being what he is. And he doesn't want to hide from hell any longer...

In any case, the episode made me happy. Not what I was hoping for after seeing the previews...but definitely the best of the season, I would say. I loved the interaction that Spike and Angel had while sitting on the couch. Pretty funny. I love Fred more and more every episode. Her character is developing so beautifully, and I can see that there definitely might be something between her and Spike in the future...if he ever does become corporeal.

The episode was good, but not great. Very disturbing and graphic. Nudity was great, but not necessary. There were so many cute references in this episode. The prophecy, Angelus, Barry Manilow, William's poems, etc. Eve was not needed. Need more Lorne! And I loved the Angel/Spike bonding scene. Also, when Angel says that they will be suffering forever for what they did.
