Discussion of 5.05 "Life of the Party" - Airdate 10/30/03

How come no one dressed up? Lots of Lorne, yay! Harmony was quite good, dancing alone on the floor. That's so like her. Angel+Eve=yuck. And was that "I went to U.C. Santa Cruz" about, 'cuz my brother goes there. This episode was very similar to Something Blue! I did love Lorne's effect on Spike, guy needs to be more optimistic sometimes. And was it my imagination, or did I see Cordy on the dance floor? It looked exactly like her! Funny episode, some good parts, some bad.

Josh, I really liked this episode, but I have taped every s. 5 Angel episode, and whenever I go to watch it again, I get, well, bored

I want the long story arcs back! I still LOVE S5 'cause it's sooo funny, but if I wanted a show that's just about jokes and "monster of the week" episodes, my fave show would be Charmed. The previous seasons of Angel, of course, weren't like that. I'll keep watching and hope that Joss has a few tricks up his sleeve when he decided to revamp the show.

This episode was hilarious, it totally lived up to the standard for these season, even with Hulk-Lorne, which was pretty ridiculous. But Angel and Eve having sex, happy puppy Spike, drunken Fred and Wes, peeing Gunn. Too bad they had to put Knox in the ep. But luckily Harmony was there too, I just loved the whole Harmonica/Lorney Toones thing!

I agree with the most of you. This episode was pretty good. It had a lot of funny lines and occurrences. But, it doesn't compare to others. I do prefer the suspenseful story arcs though. I'm hoping that after a few more eisodes, we'll start to see some substantial, big stuff. Isn't it usually around episodes 8 through 10 where something big happens?

It was a fun ep, but I was actually quite disappointed. I love Lorne and couldn't wait for a wonderful hour of tv, but I thought it was average. Personally, I don't find pee-humor all that funny. Although I am interested in whether they'll bring the chained demon back. He was shown escaping when Lorne-Hulk appeared, and he didn't see him again. Is he still wandering around W&H? Anyway, I thought the funniest moment was when Wes and Fred are standing at the elevator and Wes is saying "C'mon, c'mon," and hadn't hit the button yet. Oh,and I'm looking forward to the mystery of the masked mailman next week.

Mdrio9 ... I love the big bad story arcs, and the apocalyptic things too. But I do appreciate a good funny filler every once in a while.

i liked the ep DB's hair was normal again which is good and i loved spikes face when he was listening to the music plus spike was really hot as usual my blondie bear should get more air time but anyway i couldnt stand eve and i dint get what she meant by going to that college and why did she look mad when she left?

Did anyone catch Eve's U.C. Santa Cruz ref? I live not too far from there and it was spot on. BTW Marti Noxon went to U.C. Santa Cruz, where the mascot was (and remains) the Banana Slug!

I think that this was the funniest and most entertaining epp I have seen of Angel yet! I was laughing a lot...even had after thought laughs later on in the week and I luv when that happens!

There might not be a long story arch but at least the characters develop and we learn about their fears, feelings etc. I quite like it that way.
Hellbound was great and if you run certain scenes frame by frame it shows you even more....very well done.
This weeks ep was funny, entertaining and I sure will watch it again!

this episode was very good. i really liked it. it was funny, and i'm glad they had lorne in it as we havn't been seeing much of him.

I'm sorry but this season is lacking cordy. hello!!! WTH is up w/ this complete memory loss. and if cordy was in a coma don't you think her parents would be taking care of her?
