I don't generally correct small technical errors. It seems like a petty way to make your point, but as long as we're going there

A petty way to make my point? You've spelled it wrong twice. I was just giving you a correction. I don't know how that looked like I was trying to make my point.

when did they move Paris to Italy?

Don't look at me. I'm not in the moving business.

i just see it now...and i'm diveided...i loved the scenes with Angel and Spike...i could stop myself from laughting so hard...but hated the buffy thing..it's just...she loves Angel...she feels something for spike..at the same time she's a cookie dough still cooking...but she's snuggling with "The immortal" ?? wth?? and i thoughted i was complicated..

I agree with everything you said except for one thing: Buffy does love Spike and Joss has now stated it outright - both here and in the Chosen commentary from the season 7 DVD set.

And since it was supposed to be Dawn and they said they barely rewrote the part when she wasn't available, who better to tell Spike that she does love him. And Joss has come out many times and said that she loves them both. And that is his way of keeping us all still debating and of pleasing both ships.

They purposely didn't show the immortal because no actor could have possibly lived up to all that hype. And I think that this is Buffy's way of being cookie dough.

But they should have done at the mid point in the season since by now, all we want is the Fang Gang.

favorite lines

These are my favorite lines from this episode. The first is from the scene where Spike and Angel are about to receive the head the first time.

The rest are from when Spike and Angel are waiting to make the drop.

ANGEL: How could [Buffy] ever fall for a centuries old guy with a dark past who may or may not be evil?
(later)

ANGEL: (annoyed) I helped save the world, you know.
SPIKE: (annoyed) Like I haven't.
ANGEL: Yeah, but I've done it a lot more.
SPIKE: (exasperated) Oh, please.
ANGEL: Closed the hellmouth.
SPIKE: I've done that.
ANGEL: Yeah, but you wore a necklace. (pause) You know I helped kill the mayor and, uh and Jasmine and--
SPIKE: Do those really count as saving the world?
ANGEL: I stopped Acathla. That saved the world.
SPIKE: (annoyed) Buffy ran you threw with a sword.
ANGEL: Yeah, but I made her do it.
SPIKE: (looks at Angel like he's a little crazy)
ANGEL: I signaled her with my eyes.
SPIKE: She killed you. (pause) (now pointing at Angel) I helped her; that one counts as mine!
ANGEL: (annoyed) My point is, I'm better than this, okay? We're better than this. What the hell can Buffy see in him?

Love your picks - BA
As for all of those saying that Angelus and Spike were out of charictor im gonna have to disagree. There is no doubt that they hate each other and only work together because they are "blood" *Angel sired Drusila who sired Spike*. This of course leads to lots of fighting and argueing, however, there is an aspect of there personalities you seem to be forgeting.

As much as they fight and as much as they hate each other, when they are focused on a common goal they are one of the most effective fighting teams in the buffyverse. They put aside differences and get the job done. This is what makes Angelus and Spike of old so feared and what makes Angel and Spike of today so dangerous.

I really have to agree and also say how surprised I was at how people responded to this episode. I loved it except for the fact that I knew it was supposed to be Dawn and the Andrew lines weren't quite Andrew. And this ep. made me like Angel more than I have since he was a puppet. Kudos for speaking up.

Angelus and William were not out of character. They were friends back then. Or Partners. Or buddies...whatever you wanna call it. Doesn't anyone remember that? So they weren't out of character, if that's the direction those of you were leading in.

As for their lameness back then, I thought it was funny. Why can't evil guys have comic relief? Showed a different side of Angelus and William that we're used to... and that's the show. That's 'Angel' if you guys haven't noticed.

Great analysis and I love the sarsasm - BA (totally agree!!)
I agree it wasn't the best..but cmon guys the last 2 eppys were pretty ...well not funny...and I think joss wanted to lighten it up after her death..and before the big battle..

Some scenes were funny like the cookie dough thing..the W&H woman was annoying..it pissed me off it was just blonde hair and NOT SMG..and also why didnt we get to the immortal?

And why didnt andrew come out the closet? What was with his hair!

Quite franky i disliked Andrews snub of Angel when he and Spike were greated at the door plus Andrew now Buffy's confident? please!
In regards to Buffy has moved on..she loves you both speech.

Plus when he said : is Angel crying?
Spike :No, not yet..

Was Andrew hoping to hurt Angel more ,rub it in what?
Sorry i sound nasty about him but after damage i was surprised he let Angel in the appartment.

The only funny bits were Angel and Spike trailing after the head and fighting over who rescues Buffy.
But then The immortal could of set them up with Andrews help and the immortal could of hired those women as reward for helping him?

Wow..I don't believe that bit for a second..Angel and Spike have this older brother younger brother sibling rivalry thing going on. If they truly hated eachother don't you think they would have KILLED eachother by now? C'mon I really do think they care about eachother but they hate to admit it..
I mean Angel..has saved Spike plenty of times..and Spike the other way around

Yay!

I LOVED this episode. It is one of my favorites from the entire series. I think this episode is HILARIOUS! I, of course, liked the Illyria is Fred storyline, cause we got to see Fred again. But I loved the Spike/Angel go to save Buffy storyline. They are such dorks fighting over her when she has moved on with her life. This is not to say that she won't end up with one of them, (here's hoping it's Angel) but for now, she has moved on. I LOVE the Angel quote about their relationship. "Ours is a forever love." How great was that? I would have liked the episode more had Sarah actually been in it, but it was still great.

I have to say that I found this to be a rather underwhelming episode, but the sight of Angel in that rediculous leather outfit was worth it all. I really wish he'd worn it again later. It suited him so well. (See, I told you he was bashable)

This was on TV yesterday, and I re-watched it.
I smiled a few times, and as a regular episode its ok but it's another example of being totally in the wrong place.
We are supposed to believe that Angel is turning to the dark side, but then goes on a Merry Jaunt with Spike to 'save' Buffy.
Bullcrap.

This should have happened pre-Time Bomb at the very least, heck i'd suggest it should have happened Pre-Smile Time.
